So thrilled to say Chanel knocked it out of the park with her service and craft. She had such a warm and fun personality and carried an easy conversation. She was thoughtful with every cut and knew how to work those shears. Killer Talent! I've been with my previous hair stylist for 10 years so when he retired I researched salons in my area. Loved Hilights Instagram so decided to give them a call. In 10 minutes, I got a response back on Yelp from Tricia (owner/Queen). I called, the girl was very informative and helpful and I booked a consultation. A day later got my hair corrected. I went in confident that Tricia would do a great job. I didn't have my usual fears. And as I expected, I am over the moon happy with my service. Tricia is super chill. I felt like I was chatting with a girlfriend I've known for years! I am actually very proud of all she's accomplished and achieved in her young age. I have gone to hilights for about 3 years now. Love them!! Everyone is very nice and accommodating. I tell them what I want and thats what I get. Even when I'm indecisive they guide me through the choices. I have gone to gina and tricia (The owner) and i love them both, but all of the girls are great. I even have my mother go there for her color. The best part is that they are current in their practice. They are always going to classes and perfecting their technique as well as knowing the products. The environment is very clean and updated. They serve coffee or tea in the back. i went there for make up service done by Nicole R. and she was great and made me feel at ease i went in for a soft glam look and she nailed it!! Im not one to wear makeup on a daily basis but she showed me some tricks for at home application that i still use today. the price was both affordable and the quality name brands of the makeup used was great and helpful with my sensitive skin. i would highly recommend her for all your make up needs both glam and special effects make up as well. and the wait time was minimal once i arrived i was in her chair within ten minutes!! read more

I unfortunately can't give any good comments about the make-up service at Hilights Salon. I had an appointment for an express eye make-up and I was so disappointed with the result. I am not a professional make-up artist and I can honestly do a better job and I dont think this is normal. My eye liner was so thick although I showed a picture and asked for a natural look. So, I asked to thin down the line since its not what I want. The make-up artist tried to correct it with some eye shadow on top of the eye liner and it just made it worst. I wanted to get balayage done. They have a lot of great photos. I checked the pricing section on their website and it said $154 for a fully balayage. WoW, what a great price. However, I decided to direct message a stylist on Instagram and she told me her price was $228 and up! And this girl was a Level 1 stylist. That's a big difference. So, I called the salon, the girl at the front desk told me it was $154. The girl on the phone was very nice but she couldn't explain the difference in pricing. I'm so glad I didn't go in there. Salon coffee is usually meh but honestly it was awesome and only added to my wonderful experience. I was going from almost a white blonde back to my dark roots and it looked so gooooood! On my way out, because it was my first time visiting, I got a goody bag with samples (which came in handy on vacation because who wants to use hotel shampoo) and tons of coupons!
