What a great little spot! Small quaint tasting room with a bit of wine related retail. Right near the square and very close to Wimberley Cafe. Very reasonable tasting price at$7 for 6 wines. You can order the dry red flight, the white flight or the sweet flight. Most all the wines from the Escondido Valley in west Texas. This is were most of the grapes are grown in Texas anyway although not widely publicized. Lost Draw Cellars and William-Chris are two of our favorites. Really enjoyed both the red and white flights. The sweet flight is VERY sweet and all about fruit. One exception is the Choco-wine. Sounds really awful- chocolate wine!? I am NOT a sweet eater and don't really like chocolate but this is a perfect combination similar to non-dairy Baileys. So enjoyed the owner-host that helped navigate the wine. Super personable and great to talk to. We'll return here again!

Take a break from shopping and enjoy some of our Texas wines. This tasting room offers several wines from around Texas. They do have a set list. You can only choose from reds, whites or sweets. The tasting comes with a free glass. It's a cute souvenir. The lady serving us that day was very knowledgeable and even gave us a history of each wine and winery with each pour. The tasting room is small and can get crowded. There's no sitting, but it's not a bother. They do sell some cute wine associated items. I ended up leaving with wine and extras. I can see myself going back when in Wimberley.

Color me impressed! I came to this location this past weekend with my partner. This was one of the…read morethree stops we made on Saturday. What I like about small vineyards is they have the freedom to experiment and create a variety of wines and blends using different varieties and winemaking styles. This innovation leads to fresh and evolving tasting experiences that keep wine interesting, exciting, and perhaps most importantly, personal. Small vineyards also focus on quality and sustainable farming, and produce smaller quantities of wine. This locally owned small vineyard has bold reds and crisp whites and breathtaking views at sunset. For my partner, I purchased a bottle of the 2019 Mourvèdre. This vino is smokey and bold with cholocatre undertones. This vino will pair well with steak and other red meats. While I am not a fan of reds, the quality and legs on this vino is undeniable. I purchased a glass of 2021 Barrel Aged Trebbiano which was reminiscent of a Cabernet Sauvignon blanc. Cabernet Blanc wines have a flavor profile that's similar to a mix of Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. They can be dry, but some are made to be slightly sweet. This Trebbiano was more dry that sweet which I adore. Aside from the vinos, the sunset views when sitting on the deck are stunning. My partner and I sat and watched the sun go down with glasses in hand. The vino coupled with the views made this outing magical. The service provided by those working here is outstanding. #supportlocal

Service - we have been here about 4-5 times, but service has never been too great or too friendly. The bar on the beer side is always pleasant but the tasting bar side always has a bit of a tiny rude vibe - and I don't mention it ever but I'm in the wine industry and we don't see this normally. Also tonight we were asked to move to a different table as they didn't prepare for a Harry Potter event ahead of time just as we settled in after a rough day (and our young pup finally chilled out). It felt we were being pushed out and the other table was by the window/door that was glass so I was cold. My senior mom was cold after we had found a great spot that was warm for her. Live music tonight was also quite off - I wouldn't suggest this place anymore. I'm not sure if in the last year it has gone down hill but it's no longer worth the drive for a mediocre experience. They gave many potential beautiful spaces but they don't utilize them, nor update them, so the vibe is just outdated. No music on the speakers can be heard when there isn't live music. So sorry to not write the best review here but it's honest.

We came as part of a larger tour across multiple Driftwood area wineries with reservations for their tastings. They have a set tasting menu and a staff member will guide you through each of the pours with explanations of the flavor profiles. On our last visit it was a mix of whites, reds and a sweet wine at the end. The pours are generous and all their wines have tasted great. You can order some snacks like a charcuterie plate on the side. The space is beautiful and I've heard they have a venue on the estate for hosting parties or weddings. They have a beautiful outdoor garden that makes for gorgeous photos or relaxing outside. Check this spot out on your next Austin area winery tour!

Luckily my sister had the reservation email to show them because the girl just kept repeating the same thing until someone senior came by to help us. The wine was tasty but the tasting itself was only moderately enjoyable. The main reason was the tasting was 30-40 minutes long and we just had to stand at a counter. We couldn't order food at the counter either. We are used to tastings being at a table where we do the tasting, order bottles we enjoyed while noshing on food from the menu. Standing for 40 minutes at a counter was not expected or enjoyable. One of our family members has a disability and is unable to stand that long so he and my husband sat outside while the ladies did the wine tasting inside at the counter. It was really disappointing as the expectation was a nice afternoon at the winery with the group and it ended up being two separate groups and standing the whole time at a counter wasn't enjoyable. The wine was good. We brought two bottles home. The experience left a lot to be desired.

What made our most recent experience especially uncomfortable was an employee explaining that kids aren't allowed because, according to her, adults seem to choose drinking wine over taking care of their babies. She even mentioned having to call CPS in the past. The comments felt unnecessary, judgmental, and offensive, and made us extremely uncomfortable. There are ways to communicate an adults-only policy without making assumptions or comments about parents and their ability to care for their children.

There was a nice lunch from a food truck (the name of which eludes me, unfortunately) followed by an interesting talk about the history of olive oil and the origins of the Italian family farm dating back to the second century BCE. The owner explained how he established Bella Vista on the ancient Roman model and described the modifications he has made to make olives grow in Texas. Then we toured the olive orchard and learned about the different varieties of grapes grown on the property. We saw the processing room containing the "frantoio" or olive press as well as the vats where this year's wines are aging. We then tasted several oils as well as four glasses of wine per person. All this for $25 (the regular tour without lunch is only $15). Oils, vinegars, wines and soaps are available for sale. These are pretty expensive (e.g. $18+ for 250ml of their basic Texas Blend oil), but I don't mind paying those prices for high-quality locally produced specialty goods. This is a fascinating day out, which I recommend wholeheartedly. Pro tip: If you're coming from San Antonio, take I-35 instead of US 281 and the back roads. We were expecting a relaxing drive in the country, but construction and traffic made it a stressful trip. Coming back on 35 was a joy by comparison!
