I wasn't real impressed with the whole place. I think the staff was really nice but not to professional. I asked for lemons for my water and the young lady brought them out with her hands, she should have used a plate! Also the good take way to long to come out and my husbands food was salty and my food had to be sent back cause it wasn't made right. We have ate here many times. Most of the food is good, especially the German tomato soup. Tonight my husband tried the chorizo quesadilla. He did not like it nor eat it. The waitress did not care and said no returns. Most restaurants want the customer happy but apparently not here. They at least offer to get something else. Great restaurant right off the freeway. Stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday when we were in the area for a sports tournament. Staff was friendly and food came out fast. It was very good. Would love to come back and try out their lunch or dinner. read more

Just visiting Grand Blanc for a few days and chose Hill Road Grille for an early supper. Very good food! I had chicken shish kebob and my husband had a Quesadilla. We both enjoyed our meals, attentive wait staff, fairly busy even on a Monday night. Generous helpings, my side salad was fresh and huge. Seasonings were perfect - everything was delish! I stopped by for lunch noon last Thursday. No place to park because they were so busy, but we managed to find space just outside the parking lot. Every table was filled so we sat at the counter. Four waitresses that did an excellent job taking care of everyone. My daughter and I ordered club sandwiches and fries. Our waitress Julia got our meal super fast and it was awesome. I was worried because we only had an hour for lunch but it was no problem. Highly recommend this place! read more

This is a diner but the service is good, quality of food is decent and prices are fair. This place is always busy when I drive by to and from work. The seniors at our church recently changed to this place for their meeting because of the good and service. That says something. I have been there 9 of the 13 days they've been open. I have had breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have the best fresh made hash browns of any restaurant and the Chef knows how to cook eggs. They offer breakfast specials Monday-Friday. I've tried tuna salad sandwich and a BLT which were great. They make the best onion rings - not those skinny frozen kind. One night they had prime rib as the dinner special. This came with soup or salad, veggie and choice of potato. One word - Delicious! The fried chicken is also good. Soups are all homemade and I haven't tried one I didn't like. This is owned by the same people as the Fenton Coney Grille in Fenton. I believe this Chef is better. Also this restaurant is roomier than Fenton. I don't think you'll be disappointed eating here. read more

Yelp to the rescue as always. After viewing the poor excuse for a $10 buffet at my nearby hotel, I found this gem with a quick search. This is the first time eating here. My wife and I really liked it. Food was fresh and came out quick. I had the country omelette which was very good. Portion sizes were big which we liked. The only complaint I had was I asked for no onions and the waitress brought it out then took the food right back and said this one doesn't have onions. I went to Hill road grill last week, because I was hungry, and the last time I was there the food was decent. I took my family there as a surprise, and boy was it. First we waited forever to get waited on, waitresses all over, but it took a while for out orders to get taken. I ordered a chicken dinner, and it took forever to come out. When it did come to me it looked decent until I noticed that my dinner was served on a dirty plate, signs of some else's dinner were all over my plate, with my supposedly clean food laying on top of it. I asked for a new dinner, they tried to get tricky and fry the same chicken i sent back all over again. I recognized the chicken, but it looked like it was on cocaine, from being fried again. We did complain, and our response was yea the owners are cooking tonight. I won't go back, and I advise the buyer to beware. read more

I have passed by this restaurant dozens of times since i moved to Michigan in April. The lot is always packed so i figured this must be good. At 600 PM today we stopped in. IT WAS GREAT! Very nice menu items including breakfasts. I had a Greek Salad and Saganaki to start and then the fish and chips. The cod was fresh and delicious. It was 3 huge halibut sizes of fish every bit as delicious as halibut. My wife had steak fahitas which she let me taste. Absolutely delicious. Our waitress friendly and smiling Cayenne checked on us every five minutes or so. Service was phenominal. Place was clean and filled with people but they managed to seat us right away. Best chicken noodle soup around. Big pieces of chicken, nice big chunks of fresh veggies and perfectly cooked egg noodles.

Cold food is cold and hot food is even colder. Nothing worse then cold veggies in a bowl of water and cold mashed potatoes and gravy.

Very pleased with my first visit here since the change. Awesome seating selection, classic counter set up, booths, tables, large tables for groups. Nice updated decor to boot. The food here is not bad. Not the most flavorful, but good portions for the prices. The staff is quite terrible. They're very unprofessional, unpleasant, and wander around joking with each other for like 10 minutes before acknowledging a customer. The bathrooms are rather filthy. read more

Okay so.. it's 730pm we just left the movies 6 kids 2 adults pull in see there's barely anyone in there to see that they close at 8. Okay well when I say there's 8 first the girl rolls her eyes looks at the clock..other girl comes up and they discuss how there's 8 of in a crappy manner. So then they tell the cook in a smug uncomfortable feeling there's 8 of us. Who then shook his head in disgust. If it was a big deal they could of said this close to close I'm sorry but we can't. I get it. But Instead they crappily discussed it amongst themselves where we could clearly see and hear. It was so uncomfortable. If the cook was the owner shame on you if he wasnt then hope the owner realizes. You realize we big families keep people in business clearly a $100 tab plus with us always generously tipping. It was terrible we left...don't worry the waiter at blondies made your $40 tip. He was well overworked and tired but still managed to make it a pleasant evening. Maybe next time even if your tired avoid eye rolling and nastily talking about a party size and making it so uncomfortable to be there. Even my kids went wow that was awkward.. So even with the best fish in town we wont return. That was so uncomfortableand there was only 2 tables with people at them. Customer service is a disgrace these days. read more

Sunday 4/23/2017 Food was real good, service really sucked. Had to go to the counter to get coffee at 10am. $1.99 is too much for coffee. Also had to go to the counter to get a to go box. Bill was given to us half hour before we paid bill then was over charged. I asked for; 2 eggs & toast $2.99 Order of corned beef hash $3.99 I was charged for a meal that came up to $7.99 The server acted like I shouldn't be concerned when I was charged too much. read more

This place has GREAT food for cheap prices. The food comes out hot, fresh, and in huge portions. The wait staff are friendly. The coffee is delicious. They have awesome omelettes, chicken pitas, etc. Both breakfast and dinner/ lunch selections are good. My parents go there a couple times a month and I fee lucky when I am in town to go with them. read more

We noticed that this place has been busy since it opened so we finally made it in to check it out. It is big and airy inside, like a bigger version of an old time diner so that was nice. To be honest almost everything that we ordered tasted like it came directly out of a can, canned gravy, canned mixed vegetables and the burger that my boyfriend ordered probably came in premade frozen. All in all pretty lack luster experience, we had high hopes but unfortunately we shouldn't have bothered. We won't be back. read more

4 of us there, 2 of the 4 meals were not good. Did get a replacement for the fish (broiled cod, not broiled, no taste and very over cooked) with other fish that contained more fish bones than I could eat. We asked a question at the register , since we through out so much food, about a credit to use the next we came. Manager came over and immediately said, "I haven't had any complaints today....". The atmosphere is bright and open - very 'dinery' which I happen to like. Entrees are serves with a choice of soup, salad or coleslaw. Our side salad was good. Pretty basic with greens, onions, cucumbers and tomatoes, but everything was fresh and cold. Plus, they had 1000 island dressing which is nice. The mains were pretty lackluster. My husband got fish and chips and said that some pieces of fish were really tough and others were good and flaky. They are pretty inconsistent in size so perhaps some get more overdone than the larger pieces when in the fryer. Oh what a disappointment my hot turkey sandwich was. This is one of my favorite diner meals and I was so bummed that it was this bad. Tough turkey. Hard mashed potatoes. Had to have been canned gravy, but the mixed veggies were the worst. They were canned (not my fave but also not unexpected at this type of establishment) but somehow they were gritty. Not even sure how that happens but BLECH! Server never offered refills on our waters and didnt remove salad bowls from our table once the main dish was served. Would not recommend. read more

Horrible experience. Allowing someone to smoke their vape while people are eating is ridiculous. We asked to speak to the owner/manager multiple times and he never once came. Very poor management. We will not be returning. Very disappointed. read more
