Pulling in, it was quite evident that this is a spot that the locals go to for a killer breakfast. The joint was hopping with lots of conversation. I wasn't sure whether it was seat yourself, so I waited at the cashier station and the very polite cashier asked me if she could help me. (I was carrying a folio, so she might have thought I was there to do an inspection!) Once I got seated, my order of coffee and ice water with lemon was delivered with great haste, and I had some time to peruse the menu. This isn't some place you go for organic specials or free-range kale - this is a classic American diner. I asked for a half order of French Toast (meow favorite) with bacon and eggs, soft scrambled. It came out much faster than I expected. The bacon was good, nicely salted... the eggs were letting down the side though. They were cold in spots but cooked exactly to order, so maybe they were done before the rest of the order....? The French Toast was on point and hitting hard. Servers came by on the regular to deliver fresh coffee while I made notes on house hunting. Payment was quick and easy. Andes after-dinner mints are available for 25 cents each at the time of writing. I will definitely be back - might not be a "regular" depending on where I end up living - but this place definitely requires meow further investigation. read more

Had brunch with 5 friends ranging from traditional breakfast to luncheon sandwiches. I had the grand slam breakfast ; 3 poached eggs cooked as ordered along with the three traditional breakfast meats. The bacon was delicious as well as the link sausages and ham. I eat at this place all the time It's right by my house and it's always packed but the customer services always good The ladies are always super friendly and the food tastes like it came from your own kitchen! The breakfast deals are the best they're cheap and you can round out all your corners you get an egg a toast a hash brown and a meat or two for around 10 bucks. The orange juice is a bit watery. The hash browns need a little more crisp but they give you plenty of them. It's a go-to for a sandwich also when you're on the go. Definitely get ham! It's not lunch meat ham It's like ham you would carve off at a holiday. Very tasty. Definitely worth a step. read more

Our food was good but the covid measures were lacking. Guest were directed to seat themselves so people would just randomly walk to the back. The waitress who was cleaning tables wore her mask around her chin and very rarely had it on correctly. Entire families walking with no masks on when walking to and from their table. I went to the Palace tonight with a friend. I have to say that it was probably the worst meal I've ever eaten. I ordered their BBQ pulled pork sandwich and was so dissapointed I could only get through less than 1/2 of it. It looked very appealing but the taste just did not deliver. The pork tasted canned or precooked somewhere else. It had no flavor, no sear on the meat and not one tad hint of anything smoked. Just baked in an oven and shredded without any seasoning at all. The cole slaw was tasteless as well. Not sweet, no detectable taste, just watered down diabetic coleslaw. The BBQ sauce was another disappointment. Not particularly sweet, tangy or any heat and it reminded me of a dollar store brand I once tried. I've eaten BBQ from all over the United States and Canada, from Alaska to California and from Canada to Florida to New Jersey to New Mexico and this sadly was the worst I've ever tasted; just no love for bbq and it showed. In all my 61 years I have never left a restaurant without taking the leftovers for later but this time I did. There wasn't anything I could have done to save it from what it already was, and that says a lot. The coffee was watered down and very weak, the water they served us came out of a well, unfiltered and it had an odor and a bad taste and the side of hash browns were tasteless and undercooked. Bah.. just a meal put together by someone who doesnt taste what they are serving before they serve it. Very disappointing. :( read more

I love their coffee... next time I might even ask what exactly they brew because it's super smooth and yummy...not what I expected. I'm sure I'll be back again. The breakfast food here is good quality. Not sure if I would come back for lunch or dinner (vegetarian), but I still appreciate it as a cozy, laid back breakfast joint. The first day opening for inside dining was a disappointment. The service was excellent as always. I don't know if they have a new cook but the food was not up to par. The fish was not cod. It was something else. My husband didn't eat but one bite and knew. He then order a hamburger and again he was not happy with that. Great Belgian waffle! You can't go wrong when it comes to breakfast at this place. The gravy is a little on the sweet side for being sausage gravy but it's still pretty good! I ordered a large Greek salad with Chicken to go and it came to just under $10.00. The salad had a decent amount of grilled chicken but I was expecting a little bigger salad for the money. It was supposed to come with beets and it literally had two in it. The dressing was like a Thousand Island type which didn't seem to fit a Greek Salad. Since the new owner took over food quality and taste has gone downhill. This used to be my favorite place to go when I was in town, but no longer. Spaghetti sauce is now extremely greasy compared to before, coney's a bit greasy also. Bring back the old receipes (or maybe it was the old owners cooking skills). Won't be going back anytime in the near future. On the up side they did get a water softener or something to tame down their stinky water. Darn and I used to order 10-15 coneys to take home with me. I tried this restaurant twice in the past week. My first experience was fantastic... we had a young server who was just excellent. The food was delicious. I was highly satisfied. HOWEVER THE SECOND TIME, just two days later- I brought my fiancé in because I raved about it (we live directly across the street but we never wanted to try it because we've heard bad things, so we frequent the neighboring Coney island several times a week... after my delightful experience I promised him it was fabulous and I had found our new favorite spot) unfortunate that our experience was severely negative. Not because of the food so much, we dinned in on a Monday at 1:00pm. We sat there for a while. Our server came. She never greeted us or said hello- just dropped the menus at our tables and said- "Coke Products" hmmm hello to you too. We told her our drink selection and she rolled her eyes- came back with our pops and literally tossed our straws in our laps.... My fiancé was spoken for her rudeness and I (being a server as well) tried to defend her. After 15 minutes (we had to flag her down) she stayed "oh so I see you're finally ready to order". We are not rude people so we disregarded her comment. We ordered. She cut me off mid order. Assuming I was done, a got obviously annoyed I ordered more food. When it came to my fiancé he ordered coneys without mustard. Time passed and our food arrives. His has no onions but mustard on his coneys. "excuse me miss, I hate to be a burden but I ordered no mustard". "You order no onions," she replied. He said no, I like onions I dislike mustard- I'm aware of what I ordered. She continued to tell him he was wrong. She pulled out her ticket book and she said "oh you did order no mustard, I got it wrong- well if you decide you can't eat those let me know. And ill make sure the next ones have even extra mustard". WHAT?? I understand if she said that jokingly. But she did not. His food was not replaced and the Coney part of the dog was scrapped off. My food this time was mediocre. I ate only the toast and breakfast meat... she proclaimed to me "maybe you shouldn't order more than you can eat", umm really?! Thanks for your advice. At now 2:20 we were leaving the restaurant. I left her tip on the table but needed to pay for the bill- she never came back so I approached her. She cashed us out and said "Have a great week!" The tip part was empty because I had left it one the table..." Thanks cheapskates, I SAID HAVE A NICE WEEK!" as we were walking out the door. (we still gave her %20 because that's what I do for a living but I could NEVER ever treat a customer like she did, its bad for the business) .... sadly we will not return after this experience. I don't know if it is because we look young (we are lower 30's) or if it was just a bad day for her- but its disappointing because the food was good. This restaurant was shocking. DO NOT EAT HERE! The service was atrocious! The food was no where near what we order. To start it took about 20 minutes to get anyone to come to our table to bring us water. When the waitress came she immediately had attitude. It took forever for the food to come out and when it did it was all cold and had ingredients in it that we SPECIFICALLY asked to be omitted. When we sent it back the waitress had the AUDACITY to bring the food BACK and ask to see the ingredients. Then when we asked to speak to a manager to discuss the horrible service and food we were informed that there is NO MANAGEMENT! On my way outside to smoke a cigarette, remove myself and son from the heated situation, and wait for the rest of my party, I overheard our waitress vulgarly bashing our group. We found this place by accident. We were lost and this owner (or manager) assisted us on how to get to Rochester. We were slightly hungry and I ordered the breakfast for 4.95. My husband ordered the Veal Parmiàna. My breakfast sausage links were the size of hot dogs and cooked to perfection! My husband's dish was HUGE! Had to take some home. There were quite a few empty tables all of which had yet to be cleared with past guests plates. The floors were filthy and the owner walked around and picked up food off the floor with his bare hands. My kids ordered off of the kids menu. Both meals were ok, fries being the star of both their dishes (chicken strips and grilled cheese) I ordered the cabbage rolls which were below average at best. We have never had the owners even say "HI" to us. Sure they may be nice to the people they know, but ignore other customers. Waitresses are much more friendlier than they are. We used to go there about 4 times a week for breakfast until last year we had some kind of bacon that didn't taste right.
