No frills, unassuming, old fashioned bar/restaurant with great food, reasonable prices, nice sized portions and friendly, neighborhood service. Excellent food and homemade appeal! Hard to find a better executed Perch special. Even the coleslaw was noticeably homemade and delicious. Locally sourced, "farm-to-table", hand-cut fries. Kitchen is on point with their fry technique--some of the best fried food I've had in a while. Looking forward to trying other items on my next visit!

    Very cheesy pizza!

This local bar has the best broasted chicken in Door County! Great burgers & fresh cut fries too, and all for a good price.

We had a great dinner on a summer Sunday at Chives. With a varied menu from steaks to fish and…read morechicken plus the best homemade bread with chive butter, this place is a real winner! Our Irish server took great care of our group of 6 and worked with the bartender on our semi-customized cocktail request (whiskey sour). We loved the nightly salad special with arugula goat cheese and fresh raspberries as well as the chicken Marsala. The beef cheeks and spaetzel was hearty and good (but a bit much for summertime). Don't skip dessert-the talented pastry chef had several French delicacies on offer that were just too tempting to pass up. Reservations essential.

On this visit we shared the chicken and goat cheese wontons as a starter and they were delicious. We also enjoyed the complimentary bread with chive butter; it was so good, we took the rest of the loaf home as we didn't want it to go to waste. I had the special for my entree which was a crab encrusted cod. It was delicious and came with asparagus, roasted tomatoes and fingering potatoes. This was a hearty entree! The cocktail list is always creative and I enjoyed the Kentucky lavender lemonade which was a bourbon based drink. The lavender was present without being overpowering. Service was excellent and our server knew the menu well. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed with indoor and outdoor patio seating. If you have accessibility needs be sure to call as the main entrance involves stairs.

We went to lunch recently at Mezzanine, as we were in Egg Harbor--and there it was. The food was…read moremostly good, the setting--we sat outside on their deck--is stunning, and the service was good. I was having lunch with my husband and a friend of ours. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Tacos, my husband ordered the Whitefish Tacos, and my friend ordered two appetizers as her meal--the guac and the ceviche. She also ordered a cocktail--I think the margarita (I remember she said she wanted salt). My husband liked his tacos quite a bit, but one odd thing is that the lunches come with either fries or watermelon. As he isn't a watermelon fan, he got the fries, which is the odd thing is having fries with tacos. But as someone who is really picky about her fries, these were very good--fresh and hot. The Ahi Tacos were also very good. For $20, I would've like maybe more than two tacos, but since I ate a lot of his fries, I wasn't starving. And I do realize food prices have not been going down... My friend's guac was fine, but her ceviche was not ceviche. The first time it came out, it was green--it looked exactly like the guac, so she sent it back, explaining that one should be able to see the fish and it shouldn't be green (and she tasted it--whatever it was, it was not ceviche). The second time, it was certainly fish, but it was more like a fish salad, but it did not have the acid in it that one expects in ceviche, as that is what "cooks" the fish. She said it tasted it fine, but just not--yeah, I've said this a bunch--ceviche. Oh, and her cocktail was fine. We will definitely go back next time we're up that way. On a sunny day, it would be gorgeous. Our day was a bit iffy, and we were lucky--we got our bill just as it began to rain, so we were able to duck under the covered bar to settle up, have a brief convo with the bartender, and went downstairs to the Chocolate Chicken to get a piece of chocolate (my husband's and friend's chocolate was fine--I'm a pain in the neck, and I wanted darker chocolate with more pecans!) and wait out the rain.

Our party of 4 was seated quickly at the last table available (we didn't have reservations). Drink orders were taken almost immediately and arrived so fast we didn't know how they had time to pour/mix! Food orders were taken right away. The crab cake appetizers were served quickly and were delicious, with lots of crab meat. Salads arrived soon after and were also excellent. We each opted for one of the burgers, and we agreed each one was unique and tasty. None of us thought we'd be able to finish the generous sides of chips...but we "managed". We finished off sharing desserts--both the flourless chocolate cake and key lime pie were perfect. There wasn't a crumb left! Service pace and attentiveness were exactly what I like--there when needed, yet not overly bothersome. Other things we appreciated about Top Deck were the atmosphere--casual and relaxed and not too noisy, despite a full house. The waterside views were so peaceful and the gardens and lawn were works of art.
