Golden Bear Farms chicken with mashed potatoes. Yum!
Anna P.

A friend and I had dinner here during my first weekend (ever!) in Door Co. It was an exceptional experience. The interior is very coastal and clean. Comfy wooden chairs. Our service was terrific as was the food. I ordered the beet salad special which was incredible + chicken. I'd been craving mashed potatoes and they truly hit the spot. The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the scallop special and it was yummmmm! Scallops melted in your mouth. I was too full to finish and ended up taking leftovers home (which made a lovely 2AM snack after Hill St.) Make sure this place is on your list while visiting DC. Will definitely return.

Booked an online reservation for the first available time of 7:45, but arrived early and thankfully the host was able to manage the openings so we could be seated sooner. Every seat at the bar was full, all tables full--this was on a Wednesday night! We learned why once we ordered...Absolutely wonderful service, good drinks and the food... Highlights included the glorious shrimp cocktail--5 plump jumbo shrimp served on ice with fresh lemon. cocktail sauce and "Euro" sauce. So good!! I enjoyed the petite filet mignon--delicious and perfectly cooked--and the baked potato, which was sliced so it cooked up crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, then slathered in sour cream and chives. Mmm... My father enjoyed his beef stroganoff, with tender beef and button mushrooms on a bed of fresh pappardelle pasta. Delicious! Definitely hope to eat here again. Thank you, Barringer's!

Met up with a friend here for lunch. They don't have many GF items listed on their menu but it says they can make most dishes GF. I opted for a simple salad and it was delicious. They also have mocktails in which I ordered the lavender lemonade.

Every time we are in Fish Creek, we make sure to step in at Barringer's. From the white tablecloths to the perfect dirty martini with three olives, our dinner was nearly perfect. The slightest problem occurred when I ordered a lobster salad and it was supposed to come withdrawn butter, but it came with what I perceived to be and tasted like, olive oil with herbs. Not good. I let our server know any quickly replaced it with warm drawn butter. The service is always fantastic. The atmosphere can't be beat. If weather permits, have a drink next to the outdoor fireplace. We will always come back here. If you are looking for a wonderful restaurant with amazing ambience, you can't go wrong with Barringer's. .

Farmhouse modern chic! The inside is straight from Joanna Gains playbook. The bar is adorable. It would be a fun modern place to grab a drink with friends. The outside area was really pretty and well kept. The warm bread is delicious. I had the fish fry which was flavorful and crispy! They do have a kids menu and mine has the grilled cheese with fries. Honestly fantastic. Would have had this myself we made a reservation online but it wasn't too busy when we were leaving around 5:30.

Lobster Roll and Crab Cakes.

Longtime Door County visitors. First time at Barringer's. Wow. What a Great Place. The Lobster Rolls and Crab cakes were amazing. Service was outstanding. Fresh bread with whipped cinnamon butter, Excellent. The Bone Marrow was on point. Generous wine pours. The OF's were pretty good. Next time maybe a large rock of ice. We will definitely return. Short rib melt with fries

We stopped by to have a quick snack so we split the short rib melt. After the first bites we knew this would be a new regular stop for us in Door County. The meat was tender and the entire sandwich was well balanced and worth the price. Our drinks were both memorable and we will be back. Beautiful location and the patio is a must when you are in Fish Creek. Cannot wait to try more!

Crab & Lobster Stuffed Shrimp

Stopped for my wife's birthday dinner and had some great food. We started with the Tuna Tataki appetizer which was amazing. I tried the Lobster & Crab Stuffed Shrimp which was not only amazing flavor it was super filling. My wife did the Grilled Chilean Salmon and loved it. It was super busy yet our waitress was super nice and was very attentive. Loved it and we'll be back soon.

I recommend chicken soup. It was one of those dishes that made you slightly sad after each spoonful because there was less to eat. For my entree, I ordered the chicken and pastrami rueben. It was a solid sandwich. The whole time I was eating it, I was looking at my niece's lobster Cobb and thinking, boy, did you mess up by not getting that dish. I had total plate envy. The service was good, and the fact this place was open in February was a bonus. I liked the ambiance of the establishment. If I ever got north again, I would have to try the lobster, Cobb,

This is by far the best dining experience. I've eaten here many, many times and it never disappoints.

Barringer's is one of our favorites in Door County! The aesthetic is very California - clean, modern, white and airy. It's a comfortable place to grab a drink or have a big dinner. On our last trip we sat at high tops with a view of the bar and the outdoor fire place which was great on a cold November night! We started off with the seafood platter (small) which comes with oysters, shrimp, smoked mussels, smoked whitefish dip and pimento cheese dip. It was a great appetizer but a bit too much food for just 2 people! You can't go wrong with the specials, over the years we have loved their fried chicken, lobster Mac and cheese, and most recently the ahi tuna over wasabi mashed potatoes. The crab cakes are also great and you will definitely get a steak made right at Barringer's! Highly recommend stopping in for great service, atmosphere and surf & turf options!

Pleasantly surprised after a slightly rocky start. We arrived on time for our 8pm reservation but just after another gentleman walked in to pick up a to-go order. The hostess went to check on it and was doing various tasks around the kitchen for several minutes before returning to let him know they were just boxing it up. Then she finally acknowledged us, took another several minutes to consult the seating chart, the 2-4 empty tables in the area, and make a decision on where to seat us. After being seated we waited about 10 minutes until a waitress came to our table. Luckily after this point service picked up and was nicely attentive. We were enjoying the decor but the music in the dining area wasn't cohesive to the atmosphere, more so to the bar across the restaurant which was bustling. We ordered half salads to start - the Cobb was a meal in itself with huge bits of blue cheese crumbles, a generous helping of crispy bacon bits, and thinly sliced red onions (thank you for thin!) as well as heirloom tomatoes and avocado. The tarragon ranch was tasty, very thick and not super tarragon forward. My cousin got their simple salad with large slices of manchego and a delightful light lemon vinaigrette. For mains I had the baked cod which me being on keto was a perfect solution to friday fish fry cravings. It was flaky, moist, and the Parmesan crust gave me that crunch I missed. This was the first time I've eaten cod and enjoyed it without slathering in tartar sauce. The asparagus was grilled perfectly with nice char and tenderness. My cousin had the lobster and crab stuffed shrimp which were generous in everything- big pieces of lobster and lump crab with barely any binder atop plump and tender shrimp. All in all a delightful experience in the end thanks to some stellar food!

Perch dinner & an old fashioned.

Great food (calamari, steak cooked to perfection, sides yum), fast service, and price was worth it.

We selected this place for my birthday breakfast because of the vegan and gluten free menu options available. Upon arrival however, we're quite disappointed to find out the menu online was not what they had available. Thus there was only one option available that was safe for my son. What we did end up ordering was great and fresh. We made adaptations to accommodate our dietary needs and it was still delicious. My final complaint is that our waitress was off putting. It felt like we were doing everything wrong (made reservations that don't matter apparently, looked at the wrong menu online, clarified that a menu item was dairy free, etc.). She was condescending and it was quite uncomfortable to relax and enjoy. Food gets a 4 (would have been a 5 if their menu was more inclusive), service gets a 2. Landing at a 3.

People will be slightly…read moredressed up but nothing too extravagant, seems like it's ok to come in dressed casually as well. This place gets super busy on Memorial Day weekend but they do a great job ensuring that they are fully staffed and can churn out food and drinks quickly. We ordered the 8 ounce New York strip plus CHOP steak salad (but make it Caesar). We both got cups of soup (lobster and crab bisque or garlic potato) which were incredible. Paired with a delicious cherry sour and an old fashioned. Exactly what we wanted after a good day of exploring. Make sure to go between 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM to get their $34.95 three course dinner special (soup or salad, main, and dessert).

With high hopes I began my dining experience at Chop, but my hopes were dashed by the conclusion of…read morethe meal. Dined on a Saturday. Arrived just at opening and was seated promptly. Had I arrived any later, I would have had to wait for a table, which would have been terrible. There is no good space to sit and wait for a table; the bar is tiny; the bar abuts the front door, and is consequently very cold in winter; the tiny, cold bar is filled with patrons standing around waiting for a table. My darling wife and I were seated in the second floor dining room. The room was clean, and the atmosphere was decent... when the room was at-and-below 25% capacity. As the room began to fill, which didn't take long, it also didn't take long to realize that the layout of tables was poor. My table was far too close to the other tables; every table was too close to other tables. There is also no barrier in between tables. So, a large room, crammed with tables, each of which is too close to the other tables. Not great at all. And, thanks to the cramped quarters, I could smell the vile cheese smells from other diner's dishes which wrecked my experience. We ordered crab cakes. They were crispy outside, and the crab filling was moist, but there was so little lemon-garlic aioli that the cakes were rather bland. Furthermore, there were only two crab cakes serves, each of which was rather small. Drink orders placed with the waitress took a very long time to reach the table. The brandy old fashioned (sweet) that I ordered was not sweet at all and there was an overpowering amount of orange. A failure of this sort should not happen at a Wisconsin fine-dining establishment. The house Chop Salad was boring; a bunch of iceberg lettuce, too finely chopped, covered in ranch dressing, and lackluster bacon. My wife's filet mignon steak was appropriately prepared. The crispy duck, which I ordered, was served with a delicious cherry sauce but there was far too little sauce on the plate. The duck itself, when not coupled with any sauce, was rather boring. Also terribly boring was the bed of wild rice served with the duck. Why did you give me the duck's food? Feed that stuff to the duck and let me eat the bird served with a better side dish! Service was too slow and inattentive for my tastes. Every server looked like they were born in a foreign land, and I struggled to understand my waitress's English-as-a-second language. I don't need to go back. There is better dining available in Door County, especially given the prices asked.
