Had a disappointing visit last night. 1. When we came in there were four associates standing at the front talking. Not one of them looked over or greeted us. 2. Ordered a large plate of "brisket". It looked very small. There was grease dripping off of the plate and puddled. 3. French fries were mushy and cold. On a positive note the waitress Peggy was great. Service at the front is holding Hillbilly's down in a bad way. The inside hostesses are so disorganized that they are likely turning some people away in the chaos of trying to figure out if there's a table open. And when I've called on the phone to order or ask a question about hours they always cut me off. Our server was excellent. The food was good but nothing special. Most of all the volume wasn't there. We paid $25 for two simple plates and I didn't even leave with my appetite fully met. There wasn't one dish that we could say is the best we've had anywhere. We eat a LOT of barbecue--and everything here was just good. I've wanted to get to Hillbilly's in its new location, and this was quite honestly a bit of a disappointment because I had high hopes. A surprisingly wonderful experience. With so many bar b que places around, this one was quite refreshing. The service was wonderful, the ambiance was barbque, with typical family style feel, and the food...........really, REALLY good. When I go to a new place, I get the combination platter so I can sample several of their delicacies. This did not dissapoint. Moist, full of flavor, and delicious. Went here and ordered ribs. They were NOT good at all. Seemed to be old. Not to mention it comes with two sides, I was only brought one. Had to wait until I was almost done with my meal before the waitress came back and I told her. Me and my boyfriend didn't eat any of the ribs, it was so nasty. We told her we didn't like it, she says "are you serious??!!??" Then she asks would we like something else? So we can get charged for it too? And not like it either? when we saw the billboard we decided where else could we go , you got bbq , you got steaks ,you got hillbillies you also have the strangest combinations of flavors on the planet. i've never had desert style brunswick stew , this was clearly the sweetest thing on the menu. the turkey plate is more of a ham steak plate as that's the size and shape of the turkey so i can't fathom what breast this comes off . the coleslaw on the porn sandwhich is pink and has some type of cajun seasoning in it which is not typical. the fries weren't really cooked as they could be however if you are in the market for hush puppies they really load you well up with them. the service was great and they did remove the desert stew from our bill since we ate almost an entire bite. it's very possible we ordered the wrong items as the porn without slaw was good and the bbq sauce was fine as well. would probably give another try read more

Where do I even begin. As soon as you walk in you are welcomed by staff and sat down immediately, we were greeted with nice crispy hush puppies and we got the food we ordered very quick. First time at this location. Just a little off the interstate and easy to get to. Lots of cars in the parking lot but the dining area is very spacious. (All the law enforcement officers in the town were there ;-D). Good bbq pork sandwich - they added coleslaw for me, collards, and sweet tea. Pork had a very tasty smoked flavor. Good service. There tea is not good, Their Barbecue pork is dry as a bone and not warm even, Chicken was okay, but the dinner was $17 not a good value for one plate item being good. The pintos were pathetic and I had to wait for my water and fried okra. The water with lemon was good. The waitress was not friendly and had an attitude and so did the company I ate with. This food is the absolute best so tender so flavorful. I have no pictures bc we ate it so fast. I've had bbq from all over but nothing like this. It was an absolute gem that I will be returning to very soon. We had brisket which was super tender, ribs which were it seems smoked not sure but so tender, the ribeye steaks were cooked to perfection with maybe a marinade, the sides were perfectly cooked also like Mac and cheese, baked potatoes and okra ughhh so good. So I ordered the chopped pork plate with the sauce on the side, fries crispy, cole slaw and okra. For starters my waitress was terrible, the hush puppies were hard, when my food was brought out the bbq sauce was warmer then the actual pork on the plate, my fries were soft and so was the okra. I could never get my waitresses attention to tell her until 15 minutes into my meal, and then she was in such a hurry I didn't even mention it to her. This use to be one of my favorite places when it was in the old building. If it wasn't for the hush puppies I don't think I'd even eat here anymore. It's sux that they were hard. We ordered a Deluxe Family Pack last night and when he got home he had someone else order so I called and they just said ok, so I said hes going to bring it back so back he went and they switched the orders but not apology nothing not even a thank you for returning the other order untouched. In my opinion (and I have done restaurant work for 18 years) they should have at least said sorry about that or thrown in a desert but nothing. Been eating at Hillbilly's for years and it's always yummy. Their new location is really nice, open and inviting. We aren't keen on the huge overhead fans as they can be quite breezy and chilly especially in the summer when the air is on, so we know to carry a jacket - just in case. Very much enjoyed my pulled pork lunch meal! The service was also excellent. The food came out fast and immediately upon sitting they served two portions of hush puppies with a side of bbq sauce. They were delicious and unexpected; I could have ate several portions of them. Dangerous stuff!!! The waitress checked on our table multiple times, which I really appreciated and refills for drinks were in abundance. The pulled pork and brisket were cooked perfectly and i enjoyed the tangy sweet bbq sauce that I believe was homemade. The fried okra was tasty and a favorite of mine always. Personally, I didn't think the macaroni and cheese was the best I have ever had, but it wasn't bad. I'm also a super critic of Mac and cheese, so my opinion is not average on the subject. I think the corn on the cob was boiled as opposed to grilled, which I am never a fan of, but it was fresh just the same. All in all it was a great experience and I will be back.
