Just ok. Stopped here after driving the Foothills parkway. I had the grilled chicken salad and my husband had a burger. The onion rings were great! The chicken was tough, I could not eat it. If you're looking for pancakes the size of your head... this place is it! Came here for breakfast on our smokies adventure, and hillbilly's did not disappoint. The decor was super cute with an old truck and a moonshine still in the back of it right in the middle of the restaurant. We had the cats head and eggs (biscuit and gravy). Biscuits were homemade soft and fluffy and the gravy was so flavorful. Best I've had in a while! I got a side of 2 pancakes, thinking they were normal size.... they were not. These pancakes were bigger than my head! But they were soft and sweet. Will definitely come here again the next time we are here! read more

Since moving to the new location the chicken just doesn't have the same taste. I have eaten it 3 times now and I'm gonna wait 6 months before I try again. I think maybe the pit needs some age on it for the chicken to taste the same. I don't know though. The potato salad is delicious as well as the baked beans and hush puppies. We're in the middle of a global pandemic, and Hillbillies is not only NOT requiring masks, they're still serving a buffet. ‍ Thankfully our waitress was properly wearing a facemask, but the other staff were either wearing a mask over their mouth but not their nose, over their nose but not their mouth (yep, like a flap), or just around their neck. We were so grossed out, but we didn't know what else was open at 8 am on a Sunday. There were probably 6 other groups and only 1 of them had on masks. So gross. Had breakfast there today 7/27/2018. Was greeted at the door with a sincere welcome and seated promptly. Everyone enjoyed complimentary mini muffins before ordering. The place about 15 minutes away from the main stretch people think of as Pidgin Forge. Its a quaint restaurant with standard decor for the area. There is a small buffet if you want taste of most everything they serve. The food itself seemed very salty and manufactured. Like the sawmill gravy tasted like it can out of a can from Gordons Food Service. The filling in my omelet was full of meat all perfectly cut into exact same rectangles, again like it was recently thawed. My wife's pancakes were bland and none of the tang you would associate with buttermilk flavor. Also her strips of bacon were very dry which usually means they were cooked before and reheated.
