Our Airbnb was nearby, and we stopped here for a quick meal before our flight, with only three hours to spare. The restaurant was very nice inside, and the service was friendly. However, it took nearly an hour for us to get our food, which was challenging with two hungry kids in tow. After about 45 minutes, we were finally told the food was on its way. The food itself was decent, though nothing exceptional. A fun touch was leaving a dollar bill on the old car inside the restaurant, which the kids enjoyed. Just a note: the restaurant wasn't busy at the time we visited, though we did see long lines outside on other days.

If you want to go on a drive in the country while in near Pigeon Forge, then go to Hillbilly's. It's not new. It's not as many people overuse the term a "hidden gem." No, instead it's a place with country food, and staying power. Breakfast is amazing. I had a ham and cheese omelet, Hashbrowns, and gravy and biscuits. All great. But they have these mini biscuits covered in sweet cinnamon butter. They are great! They have a breakfast bar on the weekends. They serve other meals but we visited in the AM after driving a scenic loop. They sell shirts. They have a cool truck in the middle of the restaurant (it's not gimmicky feeling, it works) If you are in the area and want to try something new, give this place a shot. It's been there since 2013. Hours Monday-Thursday 8am-2pm Friday-Sunday 8am-8pm Hillbilly's Restaurant 3275 Wears Valley Road, Sevierville, Tennessee

If you don't mind an hour plus wait for pancakes and eggs, this is a very good spot to get the Smoky Mountain resort area's most popular menu item: pancakes. And they serve a good one, too. Syrup is warm as it should be and pancakes are the size of a dinner plate. Our two pancake breakfast made for two meals!!!

Our waitress was working super hard, but we waited nearly an hour for two cheeseburgers. Food was just "okay."

Great food. We had the omelet breakfast, and really enjoyed it. Good service and nice atmosphere. Reasonably priced.

Good solid diner style food at fair prices. Pancakes are great here. Would give 5 stars if they had real maple syrup.

The sauce on the sandwich was super tasty. I also tried my better half's chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fried. It was super super good as well. Service was great here and friendly. Bathrooms were clean as well. I highly recommend this home cooking spot if you're in the area. I can't wait to come back here!

Tennessee Haystack was good, although it came out incorrect the first time.... chicken and waffles mediocre at best. Small chicken tenders similar to something that you'd get at a convenience store. Isn't this considered to be part of the South? Trying to get our check became a struggle. Waitress disappeared. Young man at the cash register was able to figure it out finally and we were able to pay. Biggest issue, noise. If you are even slightly bothered by loud noise, DO NOT sit inside. What amplifies the issue, is multiple families would line up to pay. Not only increasing the noise by us, it caused for congestion in the area by the kitchen for the servers.

Family style dining means diners order for the table, so it is perfect for families and couples. As a solo diner, I treated my self to The Albany (choose 2 entrees and 3 sides) and the portions were downsized perfectly. Starting with the buttered bacon topped cheddar biscuits, it was satisfying enough to be my meal alone. They are scrumptious too! I chose the Southern Meatloaf and Bourbon Glazed Chicken (with rice) as the entree's and for the sides, mashed taters, cole slaw, and green beans. Everything was delicious (so much so, I bought a couple of jars of the bourbon sauce to take home) and I so wished I could have taken leftovers for later but at The Kitchen, doggie bags are not an option. My server, Amber, seemed to be having an off day and it happens. Service was a little slow with placing my lunch order and getting beverage refills. Truly recommend the sweet peach tea...it is a wonderful bottomless beverage. Don't forget to make time to stroll thru the store before heading out. So many cute, color coordinated kitchen supplies available for purchase! Another place where the goodies make great gifts.

Do not, I repeat, do not get the chocolate gooey dessert. It is not gooey and it is not delicious.
