My family and I have driven 45 miles many times just to eat at this restaurant since they supposedly serve breakfast all day. Sadly, last Sunday will be our last trip there. We arrived around 1:30 and sat down. I was anticipating having the steak and eggs since we set out for the drive down. I have many food sensitivities and their steak and eggs is one of the items I can eat without issue. However, the waitress informed us as I was ordering that no breakfast (even the ones with timers which indicates they are served at all times) would be served do to the restaurant being what they considered busy. The place was a little over half full and most people were already eating. I was livid!!!! The waitress did not try to give us exceptional service to make up for the lazy cooks. I had to hunt down a server to have my husband's soda refilled. She asked us how everything was while walking by not even pausing at the table. I was looking around for the owner or manager who has been there during our other visits. Not surprisingly she was nowhere to be found. We quickly understood why the cooks were pulling their crap and why the service was disgraceful. We have enjoyed our visits in the past, but I cannot enjoy myself at a restaurant when clearly the staff just doesn't care about the business they are working for. read more

Visited this restaurant twice during one weekend (lunch and breakfast). Cinnamon rolls were mediocre & that was their main hyped item (soggy, runny, and bread was dry). Breakfast buffet was subpar. Pretty sad that this is what I remember of this place. The lunch menu was decent but service overall wasn't that great. Younger servers might be too inexperienced with their guest service and weren't welcoming in a way I was expecting. Took about 8 minutes to get our check before we decided to walk up to the front counter and tell the cashier what we ordered so we could get out of there. Went here for breakfast. Everything from the bacon to the French toast was well overdone. The service was a bit hawkish, staring at tables. The atmosphere was drab, tired, and worn down just like the staff and patrons of this place. I left feeling sad and sick. I hope to not return. read more

Out for the day of adventure while visiting the sites near Hancock we finished our hike to the canyon falls in the rain. What an amazing adventure. We were cold and hungry and passed this restaurant. Reluctantly we turned around and stopped for a bite to eat. I must say my reluctance was quickly changed to amazing service and incredible food. I must say the pickled fish, the meat loaf stack were my favorite. My wife and son liked the tomato basil soup and buns so much they couldn't even eat the food that they ordered and had to get to go boxes for their main course. They liked it so much we took the 45 minute drive the next day to get more of the soup and buns to find out that they did not have the tomato basil soup. But had the chicken dumpling soup which we ate even more of than the tomato basil. Fortunately we learned from the day before and two of us only orders the soup and salad and still asked for to go boxes for two of the entrees between the five of us. The young lady that helped us the first day was very knowledgeable of the food and the area and gave us great suggestions for menu items as well as things to do in the area. Unfortunately this trip we were unable to visit the new sites she suggested but now we have something to look forward to next time. Thank you so much. read more

Came here to eat dinner and grab a cinnamon roll. My family thought the food was fine. The dinner rolls are large as well. I personally felt like the staff, while pleasant, seemed bored. We thought the cinnamon rolls were so good that we stopped by again on the way back through. read more

Two weeks ago ordered sweet rolls for my mother's birthday and wife's birthday. Both have had the sweet rolls and liked them. the night prior to mothers birthday received an e-mail of a computer glich...orders will not be shipped for another week. I asked for at least a discount since they were going to be at least a week late and was rewarded with My order was CANCELED for requesting a discount . IS THIS HOW THEY TREAT ALL OF THEIR CUSTOMERS? I haven't eaten here for years and stopped in with my grandma, who wanted the salad bar. The salad bar was ok, but the rest came straight from the Reinhart Food Service truck. I ordered the roast pork dinner with "real mashed potatoes," as the menu clearly stated. I guess they were "real" at some point before being dehydrated in a factory and rehydrated in the kitchen. The so-called "roast pork" was slices of preformed pork-like substance reheated in a microwave. The gravy came from a glass jar. The whole mess came atop a salty Stove-Top Stuffing rip-off. On second thought, maybe the dinner came frozen on a plastic tray and was microwaved in it's packaging before making it's way to the serving plate, like a TV dinner. That was one expensive TV dinner. The two stars (as opposed to one star) are for the friendly waiter and the large puffy dinner roll, which may have been made there. read more

The rolls are infamous, but don't miss a chance to sit down and have a down home breakfast. The donuts are a close second to the rolls!

Went hoping for local fare.Highly recommended for pasties (pronounced like nasties) Disappointed- no pasties- only frozen for sale :-( ... little by way of any local fish and this city is located on a lake. All other food was good, though. Homemade breads & desserts are great. Know for oversized cinnamon rolls- but didn't order one. read more

Those cinnamon rolls that are the size of a child's head were absolutely amazing. We may have bought a fresh batch as the entire roll was very soft and chewy. We split two of them among 5 adults and 2 children. Also the glazed donuts and carrot cake were excellent as well. I could not recommend the bakery items more! read more

Took the family here for a special occasion dinner. Very disappointing - special was to be a "1/2 slab" but was two little pieces. This was served after all the other meals, was luke warm, while the baked potato was ice-box cold. The appetizer arrived just before my re-heated potato. The rest of the dinners weren't this bad but weren't stellar, either. Then, just to top it off, the kids' dinners were to come with a "treat" that never arrived.
