This property is appropriately decorated with a sea theme. The rooms are clean. My room had a mini fridge and microwave, which was great for leftovers. It is walking distance from the Aquarium and Village. Staff was friendly. There is a restaurant/bar on site. As seen in the pics, the restaurant has this adorable heated outdoor seating area. The property is also a quick drive to Downtown. This stay was convenient for thr weekend but is definitely a little pricey. Would definitely return.

Best stay ever in Mystic! This hotel is by far a step above all the rest in the area and looking forward to returning! Perfectly located for convenience to everything. Unfortunately had to meet management, but they were the most helpful, empathetic, and accommodating people you could ask for! Colleen and CC made it possible for our stay with them after a disgraceful debacle created by Tripadvisor. I have learned, and my only recommendation, is that you book directly with them, and never through any third parties, especially Tripadvisor! These ladies saved our Easter holiday! Spacious and immaculate clean rooms, so many amenities, beautiful water and fire features with warm and welcoming decor, and again, a top staff! The in house restaurant was excellent too! Thank you to the front desk management ladies for saving the trip! Will remain loyal customers to this particular location!

Friendly staff, clean hotel, cozy vibe and convenient location. They even have a restaurant on site. The breakfast buffet was clean and had a good amount of options. The lady at the front desk provided a booklet for my son to do a scavenger hunt. He loved it!

I worked the Beer Fest by CT Beer.com Industry Insiders Day event w breweries liquor owned places and others came to that was held at the Hilton. I worked the registration table at the entrance. My role was greeting guests, checking them in, handing out name tags, and offering each guest one souvenir glass or mug. Each member also received a free drink ticket Then we went next door to Jealous Monk for the second part of the day.

I came here a few years in a row for a conference that resulted in a several nights stay each time. The stay was a positive experience each time! It is literally across the street from Old Mystic Village and the aquarium. It is centrally located to quite a bit. Beaches, hiking trails, YMCA's (lol) for crazy people who work out while away for work. So many seafood options and great restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is well maintained. The staff are accommodating and only mildly uneducated. Overall I appreciate this location and wouldn't mind returning for business or pleasure.

The sliding door to the indoor pool they didn't open anyway.

Hotel was beautiful! Absolutely loved the fireplace sitting area. The hotel is a very long walk to the rooms so if you have issues walking like I do I suggest bringing a cane or travel chair. Our first room we were assigned to had no window! It did have a "sliding door" to the pool but it didn't open and if it did open there was stuff up against the doorway anyway so you couldn't just walk to the pool anyway. We asked our room be changed and they had no issues. I do not think it was worth $300 a night.

In front of my door to the room.

Online this hotel looks great even coming into the lobby it's very nice. But my room was disgusting and smelled horribly like mold. We couldn't stay here we left because the staff couldn't accommodate us with another room. And didn't want to take a chance.

Recently, we stayed overnight at the Hilton in Mystic, Connecticut. Customer Service was friendly at check-in. The hotel lobby and hallways were very clean and nicely decorated. All the hotel service staff would greet you as you walked throughout the hotel. Room was clean with plenty of towels. The bed was comfortable. The following day, we had breakfast in the Irons Restaurant within the hotel. The food was very good and prices weren't over the top for a hotel. (Recently, I wrote a review on The Irons Restaurant) Plenty of parking is available. The Hilton in Mystic is directly across the street from the Mystic Aquarium. I would definitely stay again at the Hilton Mystic.

What a great location this hotel is located in , it's so close to everything you want to do in Mystic. I stayed here for a conference and the rooms were nice and clean. The staff was friendly and there was plenty of parking space even with so many people staying there . It's literally across from the aquarium and steps away from the old Mystic village . It's surrounded by restaurants and only 25 mins from Mohegan Sun. I would recommend this hotel for a quick stay.

    Great decor!

At over $615 per night, we expected a much better experience\. When we arrived, the toilet in our room was broken\. It took approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to repair, during which time we couldn't use the bathroom or shower before going out to dinner\. The bathtub also wasn't draining properly until we finally figured out a way to get it to drain ourselves\. In addition, the refrigerator wasn't cold on the first day\. We had actually called ahead to ask them to make sure it was turned on because we experienced the same issue during a previous stay\. The next day, we returned to the room to put our baby down for a nap and found contractors installing new carpet directly outside our door\. The constant hammering and nailing made it impossible for our baby to sleep\. We asked if the work could pause for just an hour, but we were told no\. The only solution offered was to move us to a much smaller room where the only bathroom was located inside the children's sleeping area, which wasn't a practical option for our family\. The staff offered us a bottle of wine as compensation, we declined\. We then asked if there was another way to make the situation right, such as adjusting our room rate, but the manager said no\. We've always enjoyed staying at The Whaler's Inn, which makes this experience particularly frustrating\. Maintenance issues can happen, but multiple room problems, disruptive construction during the day without accommodation, and the lack of a meaningful resolution left us feeling that the value did not match the price we paid\. We hope management will take this feedback seriously and improve the guest experience\.we will not be coming back . I do not recommend - the staff were SO RUDE

I am absolutely obsessed with everything here. I made reservations for 5:45 pm on a Monday night…read more We actually came a little before 5:15 pm, because I was absolutely starving, and they were so kind/accommodating. They seated us right away! I love the vibes of the place, it's beautiful and inviting, but not pretentious. Our waitress was the best. She knew it was our anniversary and gave us a little bubbly to toast to. We also made it for happy hour (5 pm - 6 pm on weekdays, and 5 pm - 6 pm on weekends only at the bar)! All the small plates on the left side of the menu were half off! We immediately ordered drinks (the $10 happy hour cocktail - a blackberry bourbon smash for my husband, and a mocktail for me). We then ordered the shishito peppers, 2 of the pickled beet deviled eggs, and the roasted oysters with chili oil. They came out super fast, and it was delicious. The shishitos had that great char flavor along with a great dipping sauce. You can never go wrong with deviled eggs. Then we decided to order the fried oysters and the bread with corn butter. The fried oysters were the star of the small plates. Cooked so well. Freshly fried, you bite into it and it was juicy and delicious on the inside. Just so good. The bread and butter? Ugh, my dream butter and bread. Just so delicious. The butter was slightly sweet from the corn and had flakes of sea salt on tip, making it the perfect sweet and salty combo. We also got the salad (local produce!), and our waitress knew we were sharing ao she had the kitchen put it on 2 plates. Such a great touch. The salad was fantastic. After eating lobster rolls for a day, this was a much needed salad. It was refreshing, bright, and light! For our main entrees, we got the seared local squid and the strip steak. It was INCREDIBLE. Everything had so much flavor. The squid was cooked well, wasnt chewy. Just delicious. The crispy rice was the BEST THING I HAVE EVER EATEN. I wish we could order bowls of it. My husband finished it, couldn't get enough of it. The steak was fantastic as well. The potato with the bearnise sauce was so dreamy. The little onions on the steak, all the little touches were so well done. We knew we had to get dessert. We got a scoop of the black raspberry ice cream, a scoop of corn and blueberry swirl ice cream, and the lavender honey panna cotta. Guys. You 100% must get dessert. The corn blueberry ice cream was unreal. I dont know how you get all that flavor into ice cream. They dont skimp on the honey on the panna cotta. And it went so well with the more mild panna cotta. The black raspberry was a little icy because they froze whole blackberries in it, but at least you know they were trying to make sure you got blackberries in there. With happy hour, the bill wasn't too bad. This was hands down our favorite meal of our week long road trip. I can't wait to come back. I would 100% make a detour to eat here. Parking is pretty difficult around here. I would probably just Uber if I was coming here on a weekend. I need to come here for breakfast at some point.

I really didn't want to write this review, but potential patrons should know what they can expect…read morewhen working with the event staff at Shipwright's Daughter - if they plan to have a private dining experience and event there. My husband and I got married last December. We decided we would hold off on celebrating with our family and invite everyone out from California to join us for a weekend full of activities in Connecticut and a special dinner at Shipwright's Daughter during Memorial Day weekend. We contacted the restaurant's events team to work out high level details starting in late January - to book a private room and hold a date and time. From the get go, the communication we received from the event staff was dismal to say the least. Not only did the events manager misquote the estimate for the room reservation, she came back and asked for a much higher price (up charging by an additional 30% of the original minimum fee) two months after we confirmed and discussed the date. She then explained it was due to the holiday weekend. Our date had never changed from the moment we inquired, so we would have appreciated knowing this upfront. Over the course of several months (and an absurd number of emails and a few calls), we tried to solidify the menu and wine selection and made multiple attempts before hearing back from the team. It was about two weeks before the big event when we were able to confirm a menu. It was about four days before the event that we heard back from the beverage director, but by then, my husband and I had already decided we would bring our own wine bottles, not wanting to leave it to chance with this team. I won't go into further details about the frustration we felt regarding their system for communications (they use an internal system that doesn't make it easy for guests to know who is copied on emails and who sees what). That is something I hope they will work out. When the big day came, I walked into the room and noticed there were a number of chairs missing, so I counted the chairs. They had an incorrect number of chairs for adults and not enough high chairs for the toddlers. We had requested a specific number of these chairs (weeks prior and mentioned it multiple times in writing), and I thought it was safe to assume that this was a basic checklist item for events set up. I was dumbfounded in the moment. I couldn't help but wonder what else they were going to miss or mess up that evening. It was disappointing to have our family members wait while the staff scrambled to pull other chairs into the room. From the time it took to take everyone's order from the set menu, the time between courses being served, and the attentiveness for pouring water and wine - all of it was a miss. The level of hospitality that we expected from a restaurant so recognized for its incredible food and approach to sustainable sourcing was completely overshadowed by the lack of attention and care by its staff - since day one of planning this event. Even a few of our family members commented on this during the dinner. At the end of the day, we felt like an obligation rather than welcomed guests, and that is mainly why I'm leaving this review. We had been patrons of Shipwright's a couple of times prior to this event, which is why we chose this establishment - to represent the best that Connecticut has to offer, when it comes to a dining experience we could vouch for. We no longer feel that we can recommend this restaurant. If you care about hospitality, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
