The good: People were nice and the place felt very clean. And honestly for much the price was good! The pedicure I got was great-- the woman who helped me paid close attention and prepped my nails very well. I feel like she really took her time and it didn't feel rushed! The not as good: Unfortunately, my gel manicure was pretty rushed. The hand massage that came with it was no more than 15 seconds per hand, and I'm used to a brief 2-3 min shoulder massage after a manicure and didn't get that. Not sure if that's typical of salons in n, but for me it was unusual! The most unfortunate part of the manicure was that it hasn't lasted very long at all. I got a gel manicure and by the next day the sides were already lifting on three nails. Pics were taken 3 days after the manicure and you can see lifting on every nail but my pinkies. Can't beat the gel mani price at $35 here!! I had Pasang, she was very friendly. My boyfriend had Tempa and had a great experience too. We were in and out within an hour and 15 mins. Highly recommended, especially if you are in a hurry. They do do a bit of upsell tho - ie they would offer a shoulder massage without saying that it will be extra first. read more

I had the best experience today at Himalaya Nails & Spa today. The owner is someone I hadn't seen in years (pandemic and all that) and she remembered me from years ago! But, I have to tell you that the atmosphere in here is over the top --- it's got very soft and relaxing music playing, the decore is very nice - plants and flowers and I felt very at home --- the service is high quality --- the nail artist I got didn't say much but I knew that she cared about the service she was giving and I had the best treatment! Coming here was the best decision my bff, her fiancé and I made! When I tell y'all from the ambience to the ladies working there and the service they provide, they make it really hard to want to leave. My bff's fiancé is NEVER satisfied with a nail salon but today she admitted defeat. We all loved the person assigned to us and the Spa pedicure was everyTHANG!! My bff had the lemon spa which included submerging her feet into a kinetic sand-like lemon salt, her fiancé and I were sooo jealous because we opted for the salt sea spa which was also very relaxing but if you choose, go for the lemon spa you will not regret it. I wanted stiletto nails, she kept making them rounded into almond shape despite my saying multiple times they're meant to be pointy. Add to that some of my nails are crooked. The bottoms of the nails are also crooked because she did nothing about my cuticles, didn't push them back or make them neat. The whole look is so blocky and ugly I am literally biting them off. You go to a salon because they're supposed to do a better job than you would. Waste of money. I used to love this place so I don't know what happened. read more

I really wanted to like this spot and the reviews looked pretty good but I might've had an off experience here. I came here for a walk in gel manicure. The manicure I was hoping would last 2 weeks since generally my prior gel manicures last quite a long time. Service was quick and they were friendly, I think they did a good job with the shape. What was really disappointing to me is that after 1 week, my gel manicure started peeling on my vacation. It started with one nail then it was more nails - by the middle of week 2, all of them had cracked so I just peeled the nails off. Gel manicures usually last a longer time than regular manicures so I was quite disappointed that this lasted only 1-1.5 weeks, maybe something to do with the gel bond? But I'm definitely cautious next time before I go for a week-long vacation getaway. read more

have been coming here since the salon opened in another location almost 10 years ago, in the neighborhood. They moved to this location a few years ago and the service is consistent. Keep in mind that each technician has there individual strengths, so it may take a few times to identify which technician you like. Give them a chance if is your first time. The big upside is that the owner manager tries very hard to make the space clean, welcoming and comfortable. They offer you a beverage if you get more than one service, which is a nice add on. Water, hot tea etc. Truth be told I like the wine. Whether you are a tourist or local please support this local well run business and don't judge them too hard if they are busy during a peak hour of the day. read more

This place is open in the evening when other nail salons aren't. Also they do a good job not cutting my cuticles to the point of pain - which is surprisingly common. Made a same day appointment for the morning for dip nails. A lady named Tashi did my nails. To be honest, I'm rather picky of my nails and I overall, I was very satisfied with my service. I also really dislike when the business tells you they have availability for two pedicures and one person does both, in a row. That's not two, that one and then another, later. I work 3 blocks down and had a 1 hour lunch break so I called and the lady said if you can come in right away I would be seen so I thought why not. I came into a very organized and neat nail salon. They had plastic dividers between the nail tech and you. I was seated right away, given colors to pick from- the lady was helpful in choosing specifics on the design. She was fast and efficient, clearly skilled and talented. Another tech offered a shoulder massage which was relaxing. One thing I missed would be soaking the fingers in water of sorts as my skin is dry so to remove cuticles and nails was a little uncomfortable thus causing a knick to one of the fingers. worst nail salon experience I have ever had. My gel manicure turned completely yellow the next day after I got it. I returned expecting them to redo it. Instead, they buffed the old yellow polish down (leaving my nails lumpy and raised) before painting a new color on top. Once the new color was done it was covered in streaks and bubbles. It somehow looked even worse than before! I begged them to redo it-I couldn't show up to work with my nails like this. they said if I wanted it redone I would have to pay again! Finally they removed the hideous and discolored manicure from my nails. A big waste of money and time. I left with no manicure and in tears. The manager was very rude and was yelling at me throughout the entire interaction. She also twisted the story trying to make me look crazy in front of other customers. I never really post reviews, but I was really upset at this dip manicure and the treatment at this salon. Day 3 of it and it already chipped on my index fingers. My nails were over worked to the point that my nail beds were sore for a few days. The dip was lumpy and bubbly. Not to mention that when I asked to add a gel top coat I was told no so they're not very shiny and now I have scratches all over them. Also the whole tip scenario was awkward. No way was I going to tip a lot as the job was poor and the person that did them kept walking away and let me sit for a long time with the foils on my fingers. When I gave the woman the tip she asked for more and I said no and then waved the bill in the air and announced my tip to the entire salon. What kind of service is that?? Anyway, I don't live in New York but stopped in because I had a broken nail. But beware and go somewhere else. For $60 not worth it. read more

Quick and cheap. Came in on a Sunday around 11am without an appointment for a manicure and got taken care of right away. Manicure was $14, which came with a massage. Got an extra 10 minute massage for $12. Did a good job and had a wide variety of colors. This will be my new go to spot! UPDATE: came back during COVID. They remotely take your temperature before providing any services. Got a 25 min chair massage for $24 plus tip and it was fabulous. The woman's name was Tensen (so?) and I would go back just for her. read more

She did not make it feel like I was in any type of spa- this was just a no frills experience. I feel like my feet feel rougher than when I walked in. And to make matters worse, she poured so much oil on my legs and feet i rubbed some off before going to get my mani.... and then I had to stop by a store to get napkins to wipe it down again because I was sliding out of my sandals. Avoid the lube lol. Gel mani- equally fast service. Now I expected this because my nails are so short. But wow, this was fast- again no frills no attention to detail. The color is nice, but a few missed gel areas. She did a quick chop chop on my back, which I guess was the massage. Lol. Now the horrible part- I proceeded to the register.... she pushed me to tip more and told me my tip was bad. I just paid almost $90 for 45 minutes of no frills service.... And she questioned my tip! The pedicures are very thorough and are not rushed in the slightest. The staff is very kind and accommodating and offer water, tea or wine. I had an appointment at 3:30 however when I arrived the nail tech just kind of look at me blankly and had me waiting at the front desk for awhile without being taken care of. Finally I was shown where the colors were and looked at them for a bit. I was not taken care of until about 3:50. Not the worst, but definitely has room for improvement. The nail tech did a great job however, he never asked me if I wanted them cut shorter and it's a pet peeve of mine when a customer is expected to butt in. The lady gave me a great massage while my polish soaked. They are one of the only places that do dip powder in the area too! So hard to find. BAIT AND SWITCH. I came in to do dip powder with tips extension and had made an appointment with Jack. At first Jack did start doing my nails but within 5 minutes I was moved to another seat and another woman ended up doing my nails. Though this was extremely annoying, I thought it'd be fine as long as she could also do nails just as well but she couldn't. She filed onto my skin to the point of cutting it open. She also dipped it unevenly and didn't bother fixing it when she noticed it. And then she left color and super glue all over my skin and even when I asked her to clean up the area, there was still color and glue leftover. I was just so fed up at that point that I figured I could just go home and clean it up myself. I'd note that this is the second time I've come here for dip and my first time was great. Mindy was detailed and meticulous but this time with the tall woman and Jack pulling a bait and switch, I won't be coming back. Dip with tips isn't cheap, save your money and go somewhere that's actually good or make your appointment with Mindy instead. To top it all off, what I find my ironic is that her and Jack were criticizing Mindys work when she did a much better job. Perhaps they should spend less time judging others and more time improving their craft. read more
