Set up an appointment through ClassPass. Choose the classic manicure and pedicure but knew I would be looking to upgrade the pedicure. I walked in and was immediately serviced. I sat in the 3rd seat from the door and the heat was blasted in my face. If you try this salon, sit in the furthest 2 doors to avoid this. The customer service was superb. I was talked through the special pedicures and the service began. The gel polish is a little messy but nothing I couldn't live with. The callous remover was great. My feet are super smooth. We moved onto the manicure and this was perfect. Cuticles cut back and nails clipped perfectly. Once it was time to pay for the upgraded pedicure, I was informed the gel polish was $69. I have NEVER heard of charging more than the actual pedicure cost for gel color. I probably would not be returning due to high cost of gel but if you do not find the price outrageous, give them a try! read more

I absolutely hate leaving negative reviews. I am just so sad about the quality of my nails, manicure and pedicure. I feel completely taken advantage of. Poorly shaped and extremely bubbly. I have never complained about tipping even if I receive poor service, I understand this is how people make a living. I always tip 25%. Even though they didn't come out to my liking, she somehow explicitly MADE me tip twice. After already paying 220$ for an ACRYLIC FILL, and tipping, she somehow realized she had "forgotten to charge me $12." A good business probably would have let this slide, especially given how unhappy I was. However, when she realized this she made me pay the $12 (for whoever knows what) and then had me tip again ON TOP of that $12. Did I also mention she made me pay for my manicure and pedicure SEPARATELY and tip separately for those? AND, Unfortunately I went to immediately get them redone else where. a waste of $320 even at NYC standards. $220 + a high way robbery of tips for the worst acrylic fill I've ever received. I don't want to even start talking about the sloppy state of the pedicure. You can see in the photos which nails had been done elsewhere previously as they are shaped much better... my pinky nail (which they had done) almost resembles the shape of a duck's bill and they look like they are flying off my hand. It genuinely hurt because of the awkward placement. Not sure what went wrong. Much cheaper and higher quality else where in the same area. Such a shame because they were plenty nice, besides the scamming part, but just missed the mark by a long shot. Also made me bleed on my ring finger. I went down the street and paid $224 in TOTAL (mani + pedi). They had even commented on how terrible my nails looked without me bringing it up. TLDR, I hesitantly spent $500+ on nails thanks to Pansy today. read more

I don't know where to start... I tried to give this place an opportunity two times but it seems not to be important to them. The First time I was there, they messed up the color and the way the fixed it adding an extra layer of powder making my nails look too thick and unprofessional. My second time there, a guy cut my skin off using one of the nail file drill and then pretended that nothing happened. On top of that, a day after (just one day after) one of my nails is damaged. However, during the service the woman used the same strip the entire time and in between dips, would put the strip on my shirt to hold it. NYC prices for mani and pedis are expensive but Pansy Nail makes you feel like it's worth every penny. Be careful!! I came here several times before and have so far been quite happy. Today I came again and asked for a regular pedicure plus callus removal. The pedicurist vaguely pointed to the menu and said 'the first one'. (Note that the menu was not handed to me - nor would I have been able to read it without glasses). Come paying time they asked me for a whopping 62$ because I had apparently received a 'spa package (I had declined the massage I was offered because I have a medical issue). I pointed out that that was not what I had requested and the pedicurist made a big fuss that I had to pay for the service. I rarely write negative reviews as I know it's difficult to run a small business and want to support this, but when I'm treated the way I was treated here, I feel like other people deserve to be warned just like I wish someone else had written this review before I went. I have never had such a bad experience in a nail salon in over 20 years of getting gel nails done. I had powder gel and the next day a couple of nails chipped. I asked to go fix them, they did in a very bad manner which I was telling her as she was doing it, and the same evening both those nails and most of the rest started chipping and breaking. I called and set an appointment to have them fixed and had to argue and fight when I went there as they didn't want to fix my nails. I waited for hours until someone finally did them, as if I were begging for favors when I had paid for a bad service so every responsible merchant should fix the issue and apologize. Bottom line is after this time, the next day all the gel on my nails started breaking again. Now I'm gonna go somewhere else to get that removed and done properly, which means all I did there was pay double, waste many hours of my time and be treated disrespectfully around Xmas time. Such a business deserves to be closed down, as they just want to make easy money, take no responsibility for bad service and treat their clients disrespectfully. I'm just totally disgusted and can't believe that such people exist. read more

My gel manicure chipped after 2 days. I called and made an appointment for 6pm on a Sunday and they said they could take me. When I got there the manicurist was agitated and clearly rushing to go home, which I understand it is a long day and a weekend, but the store wasn't supposed to close till 8 and they said they could take me when I called. They weren't busy either and all of the other 3 clients in the salon didn't seem to be rushed. The whole time the manicurist was rough with the drill taking my gel off, missed parts of my nail that still had gel and was annoyed when I asked if she could take it off before she started painting, and was pushing my hands into the UV machine to rush me when I was inspecting my nails because I could see there was fibers from the cotton swab stuck to the gel. I was fed up with her rushing me towards the end and said can you please stop rushing me and she was shocked I spoke up. I'm not paying $43 to be bullied at a nail salon again. read more

I then overheard 2 customers complaining as they were paying and checking out. I actually got my ears pierced here! It was my second piercing. The lady helping me was very nice and calming. First I drew on where I wanted the holes and she helped get them even.
