Himalayan cuisine is fairly rare on the West Coast but this restaurant serves excellent food. Fresh tasting and with large portions as well as congenial, knowledgable and efficient service, their Naans are larger than usual and well-made. If you're a spice hound ask for "as spicy as if you would eat it" because even their normal spiciest is watered down so Americans don't scream and ask for the nearest hospital ;-) A great place to have dinner. read more

We ate here on a road trip down the coast. Highly recommend stopping here. The food bursts with flavor and provides you something different than a roadside burger. I'd put this places' quality up against the many Himalayan and Indians places back home in Seattle they opened in feb 2021 and the owner is from Nepal according to our server so give them some business and help this small business succeed. Delicious! I'm so happy we have a different cuisine here, and I don't have to drive to Eugene to get good Indian food. We got papad, chicken momo, butter chicken, lamb tikka, garlic naan, and mango ice cream, and they were all very good. And our waitress was very nice and welcoming. Though the complimentary Lentil Soup and Samosas were delicious, the main dishes were not. I ordered Curry Shrimp, and I'm still not sure what that taste actually was - but it definitely wasn't curry! My co-worker had a Lamb Tandoori dish, and was also very dissatisfied. The Garluc Butter Naan, as well as the Garlic Cilantro Naan were also lacking in flavor. I went to this restaurant because some of the great reviews, and I had a taste for Indian food, but I can clearly tell that the locals aren't accustomed to great, authentic Indian Food - which is very flavorful! By the way, the waiter and hostess were very kind :-) Though I dislike giving poor reviews - I also strive on excellence, and that would be telling the truth in every experience. The food was okay. I got the veggie combo. Indian food is my absolute favorite, so I was ecstatic when I found out one was opening up in town! However, I was not too impressed (It truly was decent, though!). Additionally, I was shocked when seeing the menu, as it was rather short and not as rich as other Indian restaurants I have been to. That didn't bother me toooo much, but the price did. I have gotten much better and more authentic food at a lower cost. The real kicker, however, was the wait time. I spent approximately two hours at this restaurant, with the majority of that time being WAITING. There was only one other table when my friend and I arrived, and they had already received their meal. After we ordered, it took awhile to get our drinks. When they did come, the waiter asked us what we would like to eat -- even though we had already placed our order about 15 mins before, at the same time he took our drink order. When I told him that, he said, "Oh, right! Let me get your soup." That leads me to believe he might have forgotten to put our order in? Who knows. During our meal, he did not once ask us if we would want a water refill, or how we were doing. As I watched him stand in the kitchen, other customers stood by the door for several minutes before he noticed their presence. Once we were done eating, we waited for 45 MINUTES before he brought our bill. 45. Minutes. There was only one other table. If you're wondering why we didn't flag him down in that time, it's because he didn't come near us for that 45 minutes! I was super excited to see the sign for this place go up, and was fangirling over it for a long while before the doors officially opened. Naturally, when I had the chance to try it, I took my lunch break and went to the restaurant to make the order. The restaurant looked very neat, they did a great job converting the old steakhouse into something that looked clean and appealing. I made my order for a spicy lunch combo and paid, and was given a free chai tea while I waited by the friendly staff. Unfortunately, this is about where the review turns from positive to -meh-. I waited all of 40 minutes for my food, a lunch combo, and it was not busy. It was also overpriced for food for one. I did not notice an automatic 15% gratuity on my order, but it would explain the hefty cost. I wish I would have known, however, before I gave them an additional tip. The food was not spicy like I ordered, in fact it was quite bland, and the presentation was sloppy. It was nice to have a different seasoning palette in the food than what is offered locally, but the execution was lackluster. I've had better indian food at buffets in the afternoon, and that is saying a lot. I will give them another try, but upon first impression the food quality, price, time, presentation, and flavors left me wishing that this place were better. read more

Hands down the most consistent and best food in Coos Bay! The wait staff is friendly, they do to-go orders, but it's the food thats going to grab ahold of you. Butter chicken and naan bread is phenomenal. Ribs tandoori, chicken chow mein and tikka masala gonna make you holla!! "Nepal spicy hot" level is delicious but probably not for just anyone (you can get less spicy also). The prices are fair and portion size is abundant. Most rice/meat combos are enough for two people. If you live here and don't eat it then you're missing out. If you don't live here then it's enough to make you want to visit! Check them out!! read more

This was the most delicious Himalayan/Indian food I've had in years. The lamb tandoori reminded me of the food my grandparents made, the sauces were sumptuous and perfect, and the naan was pure indulgence. Ambiance was so fun. Have eaten here about 6 times in past month that I have been working in Coos Bay. I haven't been able to order anything aside from their Tikka Masala as it's that good. This place charges almost $20 for what I thought from the pictures on their online menu was supposed to be a half a chicken with skin on (like it's supposed to be) I was not expecting skinless chicken breasts chopped up and over cooked... just all around disappointed in this restaurant. No real flavor on the chicken and again a dismal amount of food for what you get, the only thing Positive I have to say about this establishment is I hope they figure it out quick I would love to have another eccentric restaurant in this community. tried the new Himalayan restaurant and was very pleased- great food everything was fresh and tasted amazing- so glad we have this restaurant in town= I paid a bit more then i usually pay for lunch but it was well worth it and i will be going back soon. only improvement I found was the take out containers were a little wimpy for the main course the soup container worked well but the main course was a large serving and didn't fit well in the container- I know its hard with having to do all take out during covid but its the only improvement they need to make. read more

I don't recommend this place. Good food but is it worth getting it cold and hours late? I waited over an hour for my food after they said it's be ready. Next time I tried pick up to avoid the wait - give it another shot. I showed up to pick up my food 20 mins after it was confirmed ready and it hadn't even been made yet. The lady said it was because I hadn't paid. But even after showing her all the emails the business sent me about my order being paid for, my order #, and email about ready for pick up she still refused service to me and said I needed to pay in order to get food. Bad service to say the least. No compensation for accusing me of not paying or having my food hours later than they claimed it was ready. I get mix ups but this was a mistake they didn't right. read more
