The bento boxes are also greatly portioned and I love that you get a little of everything. The chicken teriyaki did have brown meat (I'm not a huge fan) but the chicken katsu was all white meat which I loved! Nothing was oily although it was deep fried. Something minor but that I appreciate is that the veggies were still crunchy and not soggy. I ordered online and it was done on time. The staff were welcoming and made sure the order was correct. This place only offers takeout. Ordered the Shogun Combo Bento. The nice lady behind the counter said it be ready in 10 minutes. There was a steady stream of people checking out menu and pics outside, then stopping inside to order. There was a TV playing calming music/video. Bento box was ready, as promised, in 10 minutes. It was clearly made with love and attention to detail. Croquette came with dipping sauce. Pickled vegetables were delicious. Chicken teriyaki and tempura were cooked perfectly. A hidden gem of Elk Grove and such a lovely mom and pop shop. I had called to place an order for the next day and didn't realize they were actually closed. They still picked up and took my order which they didn't have to at all. I ordered the Katsu Don which is a pork cutlet with eggs simmered in house sauce over rice. It was delicious! It definitely hit the spot and was so tasty. Also, I got a side of dragon roll and salmon skin roll. The sushi was good but the star was definitely the katsu don. This restaurant is a to-go only. It's super small with space for people to order only. The employees are so sweet and helpful if you have any questions. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Tokyo Stop has decent Americanized Japanese food for the price. I ordered the Tonkatsu bento which came with tonkatsu, shredded takuwan, korroke, gyoza, rice, and sunomono. The tonkatsu was deep fried adequately and not dried out. The takuwan was interesting shredded as I've typically had it sliced. The sunomono was good without a strong sweet and vinegar taste. The korroke and gyoza tasted like they were both standard frozen items. Service was acceptable as this establishment is take out only. read more

The Rock and Roll was decent, but I've had unagi rolls I've enjoyed more from other businesses. The only thing wouldn't order again is the Maki. (I'm not big on the specific type of wakame (seaweed) they put in the Maki and it's not a typical ingredient you'd find in maki.) Great option in EG for a good meal made quickly. read more

Bought a synergy gift card at Costco that is accepted at a few restaurants but I came here to use it. Ordered 3 sushi rolls, unagi don bowl and a chicken katsu bento box. The sushi was koo, the avocado was kinda brownish, the roll would sorta fall apart but the flavor was good. The unagi don was freaking GOLD!!the eel was freaking amazing, it was tender,thicker than the other unagi that I've had before. The flavor was so good!! The chicken katsu was also very good and crispy on the outside with moist tender chicken in the inside. Customer service was great! Very polite, very kind woman at the register. I would come back again. Check this place out. Oh yea, one thing that did suck is that I ordered 3 rolls but u only get enough wasabi for one roll. They skimped on the wasabi. The service is great and they give accurate time frames on when the food will be ready. The sushi has been fresh every time we got it so far. The chicken katsudon is my favorite. The Teriyaki Tofu was very flavorful. The veggie tempura was crispy and tasted really good. I initially thought there were 2 croquettes, however, the croquette was just 1 piece cut in half. Not a big deal, because it was very good as well, that's why I was hoping for another piece haha. All in all, B10 is a definite go to if you are vegetarian. D3: Gyu Don - This bowl was very flavorful and a good amount. We really enjoyed tenderness of the beef. It was perfect with the special sauce they have. This Japanese order food to go restaurant was perfect that we didn't have to head to a local Japanese grocery store which we did though bc of my prior doctor's appointment downtown. Come to find out that grocery store had no power in the past few days bc of the ongoing outages due to the strong high gust of winds & nonstop 17 days of rain. Yup our January 2023 extreme weather has been no joke! They were unable to cook so we could NOT pick up any already prepared bento boxes. My wife suggested coming here instead as if it was a omen to finally trying this small rather new business. Normally with the ongoing Mercury in Retrograde she's reluctant though but we did it nonetheless! My wife ordered the salmon teriyaki bento which consisted of a few pieces of grilled salmon, a pair of gyoza, single croquette, takuan (pickled yellow radishes), cucumber salad & rice. It was decently delicious & tasty! Yay! I ordered the chicken karaage which is the Japanese style popcorn chicken topped with a bit of teriyaki glaze over rice in the bowl. That was foodie delicious! We were both very happy with our choices here. Actually both of us had been eyeing the shrimp teriyaki picture facing outside before & after entering the restaurant so I personally asked Jennifer about it. Come to find out it was listed under the SIDES: A4 Ebi Fry & A10 was the Vegetable Tempura. We will be back to order those two items next time. By the way we did return! My wife proclaimed the veggie & shrimp tempura were fabulous! So much food she exclaimed. So nice that this business is so conveniently located in Elk Grove. We love that. We stopped by after getting a Hydrofacial. I needed to find a place to order food ToGo and I found Tokyo Stop, thanks to Yelp. They were quite busy but very quick. We could see that it was just a husband and wife team. We placed our order and there were three orders ahead of us. We received our food in less than fifteen minutes. We ordered the Seafood Combo bento and a California Combo bento and an order of Inari sushi. The chicken teriyaki had a delicious sauce. It wasn't overly sweet. The CA roll was bigger than what you'd get at a grocery store and fresh. The Inari was good as homemade. Also when you check in on Yelp, you get a free soda. We checked in and the sweet owner let us slide and get an Ito-En tea! We got both Oolong and Jasmine. I highly recommend Tokyo Stop, the food is delicious and the owners are so nice! When Tokyo Stop Sushi & Grill opened in Elk Grove/Laguna Creek, it was at the time California was still under the pandemic. I think this is one of the reasons they don't have dine-in options. They're a to-go-only restaurant. The restaurant is not far from my home. Less than 3-4 minutes drive. I should be here more often. My family and friends all have ordered lunch or dinner from Tokyo Stop before. But this is my first time ordering from them. The storefront looks very nice. The sign and the lights are perfect. The restaurant stands out from the stores next to them. The parking lot is big and easy to get parking very close to the restaurant too. I ordered the Teriyaki beef bowl. I didn't pre-order by phone or app. It takes them less than five minutes to have it ready for me. The lady who takes my order at the front desk is amiable and polite. The Teriyaki beef bowl is very good! The taste is perfect. The rice is perfectly cooked. The beef is delicious, even if it is a little overcooked. The amount of teriyaki sauce is just right.
