The taco tortilla was old, hard, and tasted awful. Fries was okay. Rice bowl wasn't too bad, but not worth trying again. I had an inconvenient stomach issue after I ate here. Would not come back here.

The wine servings seem small to me.

The pros: You can get a wine to go. The cons: The wine was $14 for a shot like amount. The cup was around the size of those dentist office mouthwash cups.

Great little craft beer bar here at the Austin airport. Yes...to sit at the bar, you have to order beer. The other tables, order whatever you want. I will say the staff here was doing a great job of keeping the flow of weary travelers satisfied with great local beers and bowls/tacos. The beers here are few but a great selection and the prices are decent (especially for an airport).

Okay for a beer spot, shares a register/counter with the taco place next door. The lady who took orders was very sweet and a fast expediter, but the $14 local craft beer was a killer. Headed over to the Delta club shortly after!

Ok; it's an airport. Alcohol is going to be expensive. $10 beer is just fine especially if it's a draft and well made! And it was directly across from my gate; couldn't have planned it any better!

Pretty drab selection for a place called Hippies and Hops. Coors, Stella, Modelo, Ziegenbock from the big guys and Real Ales Axis IPA and 3 Live Oak (hef, pilz, big bark) from the little guys. No food as it's co-located in the small food court that replaced Hoover's/Hill's/pretzel place. Just means you have to wait in line twice :/

I forgot what this is called. But if you show them the picture they will make it! White rice/chicken/poached egg/and nut pieces (i think)

Technically, I'd give this a 4.5/5 for the elevated airport prices, but you're sort of a captive audience and I have to give credit to AUS for at least including local brands, even when they some are tweaked a little bit to be included. (I'm looking at you, 24 Diner's less-anchovy-y airport caesars.) There's not really anything to change about beer, thank goodness. This stand has Austin Beerworks' beer, which is some damn good beer. I wish ABW had a distribution deal in the northeast so I could continue drinking it at my new house. Service at the Beerdrop is usually friendly and just the right amount of attentive--friendly if you're bored, hands-off if you've got a laptop out. One bartender on a slow day even checked on my order at the other food hall counter for me, which was rad. There's a full bar with non-beer options, too, although I've only ever been there for the beer. It can get a little loud and crowded if the wider food hall's busy, but unless you're hitting at peak food o'clock, it's pretty laid-back in there.

I ordered a 14-ounce serving of Fire Eagle IPA (for $11.49)--which is very good. The bartender suggested to instead order the 20-ounce serving for $1.50 more ($0.65 per ounce rather than $0.82). However, I was trying to spare some room in my stomach for a subsequent crawl to Hippies & Hops (featuring local beers from Live Oak Brewing). I lucked out on the timing, to watch an NFL playoff game during my visit here. It was surprising that other patrons at the bar were mostly drinking beers other than the local beers that this bar showcases; or alcoholic beverages other than beer. I like the easygoing atmosphere here, where it is easy to socialize with the bartenders and patrons.

Founded in 1997 by Chip McElroy, Live Oak was built with a simple idea "make beer for people who actually like the taste of beer." In 2015, Live Oak moved to their current location on a beautiful property along the Colorado River, opening a taproom and biergarten. One its unique features...it's off the beaten path of other breweries. Live Oak Brewing is north of the airport and backs to the Fast Park remote airport parking lot. At first glance it looks like it's a convergence of a fire station and deserted manufacturing plant. The grounds are impeccable...tall statuesque trees, lush green vegetation and an extensive outside biergarten. It feels like you are in a nature bubble. Interestingly, Live Oak Brewing has its own on site 18 hole disc golf course (different from traditional golf) located directly on the brewery's property. Live Oak Brewing's interior has the feel of a German Hofbräu...homey, spacious, and welcoming, with long communal tables that encourage conversation and human interaction. You can see directly into the brewing space, with large tanks and equipment. Also, board games are available if you choose to play. Live Oak is family friendly and dog friendly. In fact, Groot, the owner's dog, freely roams through the brewery drinking area. While I only had sips of beer (not a big beer drinker), my friends enjoyed their beers. Live Oak Brewery Company is a super fun place to hang out.

When I questioned it, I was told that's how it comes, so I asked for silverware and a napkin so I could at least eat the filling, was again told "that's how it comes" and the waitress walked away. Then had to ask to cash out 3 times & the bartender still wouldn't run my card and made the server do it. Very disappointing experience and service.

Normally good food and Holiday Inn go together like squid goes with chocolate, but this place was one of the more pleasant surprises I ate at in Austin. We were watching some bands nearby and needed some food at 930pm. Looking on Yelp (what else would we use?), the only highly rated food places nearby were a few food trucks and a restaurant in the Holiday Inn. We wanted to sit down badly enough that we decided to risk disappointment and GI distress. Man were we glad we did! The good: the waitress, I think her name was Brittney, was very nice and welcoming. There weren't more than 2 other tables at that time of night, so she walked us through the menu. Everything was made on site including the ice cream. The restaurant itself is clean and open. There's a full bar. The menu has pretty good options for the vegetarian with us and for us carnivores as well. The sandwich I had was really good and the brownie waffle dessert with cookies and cream ice cream and hot fudge STILL HAUNTS MY DREAMS! The prices were reasonable, and the food was remarkably good. The bad: the reataurant is in Texas, and I'm in California. The mediocre: nothing Overall: This place would be my go to late might place if I lived anywhere nearby. It's probably best that I am not nearby because I would also weigh about 200 pounds more than I currently do because I would eat that dessert every day until I could no longer walk without assistance.
