If you have ever or never been to the Austin International airport, this is the spot to grabbed yourself some drinks before your way out of Austin. I have come here a many of times I have flown out of Austin. The service can be a hit or miss. I haven't had any issues with my credit card being scanned and hack like others have said. Needless to say be watchful of your card and I would recommend always use Apple or Google pay. PATRONS BEWARE! THEY CLONE CARDS HERE! Came here because my flight was delayed during a layover. My gate was 17 and this was near 19 so decided to stop by for a bit. Ordered Tito's and soda. Nothing else. Gave the bartender my card after asking for a new glass because the original was dirty. Bartender took my card, brought receipt, I signed and chilled for a while. This was the ONLY place in the Austin airport I used my credit card. And to my surprise the next morning I had FRAUDULENT CHARGES on my card from you guessed it, Texas. So somebody at this bar cloned my card. Used it to subscribe to a golf magazine and also a roblox arcade. Thankfully, Chase saw the random charges and notified me. Unfortunately I had to close my card while on vacation. It's 2024, stop scamming people and do better with your business. PS. I've never had fraudulent activity on my card EVER. And then I happen to use it at this bar and now I do? Wayyyy too coincidental for me. It is a big space in our "keeping it weird" airport. A big bar... a big stage... a big seating area, and a big plus of a place. Come on in... belly up to the bar and order a beer from the 10 or more on tap,or get a custom made sangria, or try some of the food from their simple menu... no matter what just come in smiling! If your not happy I am sure this location will help change that. The live music.. even though this particular group was not my kind of normal crank it up tunes.. it was nice! Ended up with an unexpected, elongated layover. Spent it at Saxon Pub, and we couldn't have been happier. Josh, the bartender, was absolutely amazing. Even when he was swamped, he took great care of us. The drinks were phenomenal. He really personalized even a Virgin Bloody Mary. Mimosas were also delicious. Prices were a bit high, but it was no higher than any other airport bar. So we expected it. Food menu was a little limited, but #covid. TV had great sports. Just skip this place. A friend and I stopped in only because this place was right next to our gate and we really did not want to eat anymore of the heavy Austin fare. We figured we could get a salad or a wrap from here, so we ordered before our flight. We got the Turkey Bacon wrap which comes with a spicy ranch sauce. We ordered the wrap without the ranch but ir came with it anyway. Oh well... We also decided to try an order of the wings and my, oh my. These were 90% fat and 10% ficken (fake chicken). We had to rip into every single wing to dig for the chicken. I'm not sure where this place orders their frozen chicken wings from, but they need to stop. These are clearly injected with fat that makes them inedible. In regards to the service, our waitress was nice but this place is understaffed. It's a busy terminal and a lot of people are stopping in for a quick bite. They definitely need more than 2 waitresses working here. My advice is to buy food before heading to the airport. If you are here on a layover, skip this place altogether and check the reviews for the other restaurants. read more

Service was extremely slow and there was no line. Mercedes was our waitress and had an attitude as soon as she got to our table. It seemed like we were troubling her to take our order. Also do not ask to pay whole price for sweet potato fries and half it with the lower cost fries......she will not do it. The grilled chicken sandwich tasted as though they used a bird that had just finished a round trip flight around the world without drinking. Very dry. Veggies were fresh but the brioche bread was either stale or overly toasted like the meat. It's a shame. I'd give them no stars if that was an option. I knew prices like theirs was too good to be true. Coffee is self serve- nasty and taste like they have changed the filter in centuries. There was only a small handful of ppl here and it took forever to get my food. I ordered scrambled eggs and they didn't offer egg whites, I just maybe spoiled to healthy options, but that was surprising to me. I made it clear that I don't want any meat bc the only has pork options (bacon and sausage). I don't eat pork and never have. Got my food after waiting for 40min. I asked for Tabasco sauce and had to ask 2 ladies and the both forgot about me. All the while my food was getting cold. 20min later I walked to the bar to the 1st lady who said she'd bring me hot sauce and she says "oh you're here for you hot sauce?" Well damn! If you wanted me to get it then tell me. Finally sat down to enjoy my over greased food. After the 3rd bite I realized something wasn't right and found pieces of bacon in it. I told the lady I don't eat pork due to religious reasons and I was upset, she looked at me like I was crazy.... So I did... with fries of course. I also said oh what the hell, let's get a glass of red wine too. He was honest to tell me which one to get and which one was overpriced. Great gentleman! Food came out in 10 minutes - I was surprised at how fast it did! And yes, he was right about the turkey pesto sandwich. Bread was perfectly toasted and buttered. I usually eat half a sandwich and save the other half for later but I was so hungry and it was so good, I ate the entire thing! I would stop by here again when I fly in the future! I witnessed a customer come up to the servers to nicely state that "someone just left because service is so slow, I just want to let you know". "Uh ma'am, do you know this is an airport"? I witnessed one young man state that he could call for assistance (I assumed a manager) but then they would make him go back on the floor. He was more concerned with the traffic and two hours it would take him to get to the Domain than the customers around him. At the time, the place was pretty packed. There is no teamwork and I call can hear is the employees making fun of another employee. All I can say is poor "Mary". Add in a few "f" bombs, cooks eating potato chips at the grill (where they are supposed to be cooking) and and a complete disregard for the customer sitting right in front of them and I can promise that this frequent traveler I will never return to this location. read more

Where can you get live music at the airport? At Saxon pub!! It doesn't get anymore Austin than this. The pub is located at the far left end of the airport by the allegiant and delta terminals. The pub isn't very spacious, got some old decor/ furniture and rather dark lightning. However the service is subperb! Had a really nice fellow serving us with a super upbeat attitude. The food was okay, I mean I didn't expect much from airport food. We had the cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. The cheeseburger was dry (comes with no sauce) so slap on some ketchup to make it taste better. The fries were average and everything was served on plastic plates. Overall, if you have some time at the airport, the pub is convenient and provides an area where you can relax and listen to live music. read more

This is a sad, dark little place even by airport bar standards. When I walked in at 6pm I was greeted by a harried waitress with "kitchens closed"! I ordered a beer from the big list on the wall and was helpfully informed by fellow patrons that the bar was out of all of the beers listed on the wall! (because that makes sense right?) so they only had domestics in stock. Empty glasses and napkins litter the tables and the floors look greasy and wet. It's depressingly both dirty and busy. Since there's no Delta Sky CLub in Austin's airport and I arrived at the gate unusually early I decided to swing by Saxon Pub for a bite. Although the place wasn't very busy, it took a long time time for the staff to bring the menu. Followed by an equally long time for the waitress to return and to take my simple order (cheeseburger, medium rare). When alas the cheeseburger arrived not only was it well done, but the ingredients looked and tasted as though they were very low quality. The burger tasted horrible and the frozen french fries were so laden with salt rendering them inedible. The waitress returned and asked how things were? I told her the issues I had with the meal. She said she felt horrible about it. So horrible that she brought the $18 bill despite my not eating 90% of the food. This is one of, I think, 4 full service bars in the Austin Airport. It used to have a wider draft beer selection but now it's just Bud Light and Miller Light (yikes). For better draft beer go all the way across the airport down by United. The sandwiches are also pretty bad, like the burger. Better off going to Thundercloud. But I was there in late December and there were people with Airport contractor badges being shown around and being told "it's always packed" at such and such times. because it's right next to the Delta gates, which operate the largest planes to Austin (757). Comments about slow / indifferent service is true: some is indifferent, some is slow, some is both. I didn't get the sense that the slowness had malice, it just feels like they are on island time here. However, when I said "good morning" to one of the cooks, she barked, "what you want?" at me. But I will say for breakfast at our airport, this is probably the best spot. Walk in, sir at any free spot, grab a cup of Cuvee Coffee at the self serve station, a bottle of water, and whenever the server gets to you, ask her for one of each taco. The whole ordeal took 20 minutes for me but I saw other people walk in and have their food within 10 minutes maybe. So your mileage may vary. But the tacos were *almost* good enough to send you off to parts Tex-Mex unknown relatively satisfied: they were full and the ingredients well cooked, and the tortillas were flaky, as opposed to the soggy mess you very at most places in the airport. Still, they were heavy on the Tex and light on the Mex: almost no seasoning on the eggs or potatoes, but the cute package of tomatoey picante helped some. Oh, and my bill was like $14 (tacos are $2.99 ea, Cuvvee Coffee is $2.59). Plus, I think they open at 5am or 5:30. We had a delayed flight and decided to eat somewhere in the airport. Everything was closed so we decided to try the Saxon Pub. The food was good not really anything special. However, the wings were cooked perfectly. What really made this place noteworthy was our waitress, Jessie! Absolutely one of the best waitresses I have ever had.
