Dinner option includes salmon, lamb, edamame, etc. that are not available during lunch. So I decided to try the $15.99 dinner bowl. Unlike other customers, I used a food glove which the restaurant should require as people more than likely do not wash their hands before touching the buffet utensils which was placed on top of the raw food. Oh, there are petite sample spoons to the right of the sauces to taste them; I liked the dragon sauce which I was told taste like sweet chili sauce. I also got the gluten-free garlic oil with parsley. They have seasoning options too so I tried the Cajun. I chose the fried rice with egg, salmon, white fish, chicken, beef, lamb and 2 eggs as my proteins. I selected chives, zucchini, mushrooms, onions, Napa, and bell peppers. Some food signs were not facing the customers. Some Hibachi staff wore face masks to stir fry the entrees. After I bit into an eggshell, I did not enjoy my food as much. I wanted more Cajun seasoning but still lacked a tasty flavor. There is less waste of dropped food if have the taller side of the bowl closer to you. Meal came with a fortune cookie. I wanted a unique Asian buffet at a reasonable price. I am glad I tried it after someone recommended and told me how the Hichabi worked. Finally had a chance to stop in at this location after talking about doing it for a long time. The server we had was so friendly and full of life. She explained how it all worked, and encouraged us to load up the bowl as much as we could. The food looked fresh, and was constantly being refreshed. If you aren't prepared, the sight of the raw meat going in a bowl may make you queasy. Make sure to not load up too much on the veggies and noodles to save room for the protein. The food came out as it was finished, so my friend got hers first. It's a lot of food, and was delicious. I have plenty for another meal or two. Really enjoyed the stir fry bowl with all the sauces and surprisingly the sushi was excellent. Only downside for me is I cannot get over is the "buffet" style of making your own plate grabbing the raw ingredients. When you are with a multi generational group with some picky yet adventurous eaters it can be hard to find the right place. I am so glad we tried Yummy Bowl because everyone was very happy. Large group but we didn't have to wait for a table even on a weekend. Stephanie was our server and she was wonderful, we had never been and she was so caring and thoughtful walking us through how it all worked. We enjoyed the sushi and appetizers we tried, the octopus balls where great. One friend got shrimp Ramen and loved it, and it was a huge serving. Those of us who did the Bowl option absolutely loved it, you really can make it your own. The 16$ a bowl is well worth it, you can fill it as full as you want and the rice was a nice addition. I love Yummy Bowl. I typically get takeout when we go since I'm not a huge fan of eating inside loud restaurants. Yummy Bowl is pretty loud inside due to larger parties at tables, televisions and lots of families dining in. I get the fill your bowl hibachi each time. The one thing I would ask that they work on is to wipe down the tray slide area (where people go nuts on getting meat) and they drop raw meat where people put their trays. I did miss having the roti option, but I did fried rice and that worked, too. Service was good, not great. Sodas are $2.29 and are served in humongous 32 oz tumblers, so refills really And the policy is to add gratuity to any check with 5 or more. I think we are getting out of control on the whole notion of tipping. And that's coming from a pretty consistent 20% or more tipper. This is my 3rd time to a Yummy Bowl, but first time at this location. I was curious if it was going to be different. My husband and I arrived for dinner around 6pm on a Saturday evening. We wrote our name down on a piece of paper to wait for a table. The wait time was around 10 minutes or less. You could see the line for grill was growing. Our waiter came right away and took our drink order and brought us our bowls with cards. We walked up to the line and it was nice to watch the sushi chef while we were in line.! I always see someone dropping their bowls on the floor while in line and then the staff gets them a new bowl. My husband says " why don't you just get your bowls in line"? We arrived to the start of the buffet line where the noodles are first to choose, then your veggies, then your raw meat. I tried the noodles last time, but was not feeling it this time. I love filling my bowl with broccoli, zucchini, onions, and jalapeños. Then, my protein: bacon, chicken, and sausage. I always take the side sauce container back to my table vs having them mix it with my cooked food. I prefer to dip or a pour a little on my food at time. I also, always write on my card- special request- please place rice on the side. There is beer and wine available. I like that they have hand sanitizer at the beginning of the buffet line and at the end after possibly touching raw meat. Finally made it here and I'm so glad we did! It was delicious! I love that you make your own to suit your tastes. I added noodles, broccoli(which wasn't cooked enough for me), zucchini, edamame, steak and shrimp. I picked the Thai chili sauce and it was really good and not too spicy at all. My husband had so much meat!! He tried everything except the chicken thighs and loved it. You can stack the bowls so high that you can take home some. Everyone is very nice that works there. But they aren't extremely helpful. It was our first time and had no idea how it worked. We did come on a Friday night and it was packed. I'm comparing this to The Mongolian BBQ, and variety wise, it lacked. Not much to choose from. I made the same bowl thing twice. And the second time it tasted different, so they don't separate well or clean off in between. That being said the restaurant was clean. And that's a huge plus. The food is ok. I love Mongolian BBQ style restaurants, but the ingredients at Yummy Bowl are not quite as good as HuHot or BD's. I've found the beef at Yummy Bowl to be fatty/ have gristle most of the time. The sauces all have extremely similar descriptions- not much variety. I hate the bowls they serve the food in- you can't mix your food up! It would be better served on a plate. It's still a good meal, but a few changes would make it a great meal. I guess you can afford to be average when you are the only restaurant of this style in the area. They would need to step up their game if they had nearby competition. read more
