I ordered my food to take home. My meal was so good and eaten so fast I've forgotten it's name. My wife's meal was the Golden California rolled which is crunchy, she really enjoyed it! Each take out container has dividers with the fresh ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce. They have fun specials on a board inside the restaurant. Well, this sushi restaurant is what everyone says- "Awesome!" We were greeted with friendly smiles and seated right away tonight. We ordered and food started coming right away. Everything was so fresh and so beautiful- we ordered more unagi after finishing the first round, it was the best unagi we've had in the valley, really really tasty. I generally don't like raw tuna, but the tuna on top of the Eagle Point was delicious and I ate all my pieces happily- lol. The chef did come to our table and asked us what we thought. We raved about the freshness and thanked him. The restaurant is clean and well lit. They obviously take pride in their cuisine and it shows. I'm gonna order Mochi ice cream for dessert- I was so impressed I wanted to review right away. I'll have to add pics of dessert once it comes. We will definitely be coming back, and very soon. Excellent fresh Sushi, many combinations, excellent choice of custom rolls. I love the Cucumber salad and Miso Soup. My husband has gone a couple of times and he likes it too. Very bad service! I needed to ask for utensils and soy sauce, which is so important for having Sashimi with. The waitress didn't pay attention to the dishes coming out, the kitchen staffs needed to keep reminding her. She allowed the Sashimi to sit there, but not brought to us as soon as possible. So unprofessional! We ended up to have everything on the table at the same time, even the soup and salad as well. I could not believe it! When we asked for the manager, the staffs talked to each other with Korean language which we could not understand. Then the same waitress came to us and said that the manager was not here, we needed to talk to her and she would report to the manager. Oh man, I'm always torn about leaving bad reviews, but it is important to be accurate regarding these things. As a sushi aficionado (and chef) myself and having dined at some of the best restaurants in the west, I do feel confident in this review. So I was kind of expecting more after reading many of the critiques on this place, but we (wife & I) left saying we just couldn't go back. I probably could have left 1 star, but the place was clean and staff was friendly. Oh, and the fresh uni was great. Sadly, the goodness ended there. We sat at the bar and were served by the owner Hiro himself. We had a couple specialty rolls, some nigiri sushi, a hand roll and the hamachi carpaccio. The soft shell crab in the spider roll was so crispy with a thick, almost cornmeal like crust, it "hurt" to eat. Tip 1: Soft shell crabs should be served with a delicate coating for a slight crunch that doesn't take away from the tenderness of the crab. The hamachi (yellowtail) in the carpaccio was cut with some of the bloodline left of the fish. This may be enjoyed by some, but to me it doesn't taste that good (fishy). Tip 2: Trim the fish segments to be clean and consistent looking. Then there was the salmon skin hand roll. It was prepared with salmon skin so overcooked it too was tough to eat. So hard and crispy, there was no fish left on it. It was harder to chew than burnt bacon! Tip 3: Broil the salmon skin until it's crispy, but still has some moisture and fish left on one side. No one wants to break a tooth on this stuff. The tuna nigiri was cut from a "saku block" (frozen and vac-packed with red dye) and not the fresh loin I expected, like from the better sushi bars I know. What's more, they use FAKE KRAB in all the rolls which is so wrong I was embarrassed for them. So sadly, we were unimpressed and won't be back. Sorry Hiro. Truth... read more

PROS: -Hiro and his wife are the nicest most hospitable people you'll ever meet. They are on top of everything and will take excellent care of you! -Flavors, presentation, freshness of everything, fish of course but even down to his daily handmade wasabi paste (from fresh root) is absolutely top notch. CONS: -Location is on the east side of the airport so depending where you live could be a little drive, but without a doubt worth it. -Slightly on the pricey side, but the quality is what you pay for and it is there in spades. CONCLUSION: Probably the best sushi in Medford in terms of having sushi done in the true Japanese way it is supposed to be, and as far as presentation and freshness go. We were looking for good sushi place to have a nice dinner. This place didn't disappoint us. We order three different rolls and all were very good. The sushi tasted very fresh. They have some very unique dishes and the presentation were amazing. The 911 comes with flame being cooked in front of us. That was something different. Off course no good sushi without sake, so we complimented our sushi dinner with some hot sake. The customer service was great.
