One of our family friends recommended this sushi spot and they were spot on. The location is nothing fancy but inside the restaurant is cozy and inviting. They tend to get busy so check in on Yelp and get on the waitlist. We were seated fairly quickly and the sushi chef was able to provide his recommendations and also advise on what would be good to try according to our tastes. We had the Las Vegas Roll, Spider Roll, Lollipop and volcano as an appetizer. Out of all everything that we ordered, the Volcano and Spider Roll were the tastiest. The lollipop was wrapped in cucumber and it's an acquired taste. The Las Vegas roll was our least favorite. The fish in the rolls was fresh and didn't have any fishy aftertaste. The sushi restaurant didn't disappoint and would satisfy your craving for some delicious sushi. The only thing I'd say could change was the menu to have some sort of visual representation of what the rolls look like.

Date night! Our second time here and this place is still amazing! We were seated at the bar this time and we got to watch the chefs make all of the sushi. This place is always busy and rightfully so! The waitresses were attentive and the food came as it was ready. We were brave and decided to try their Wagyu sushi and it just melted in our mouths. It was such a cool experience! I wanted to try the cold soba dipping noodles. The sauce was great and the noodles didn't stick to each other so dipping them was easy. Then my boyfriend got the bento box dinner and this was so worth it! You get to choose two protein and then it comes with miso soup and a small house salad, rice and seaweed salad. To finish off the night we both got a sushi roll and they were just perfection. We can't wait to go back!

Hiro Sushi Salmon Roll is a small portion of salmon but a good tasting order. Caterpillar Roll this is so precise, the caterpillar has antennas and eyes, very creative and fun Spider Roll very well made with a good amount of soft shell crab, this is the real deal. Teriyaki Dinner good generous amount of teriyaki chicken (all white meat), a little lite on the Teriyaki Sauce, but a good meal Teriyaki Appetizer is a lighter version of the dinner and is by itself, no rice or condiments, good size also. Top quality ingredients, fish, sushi. A big thumbs up

Amazing Food and Service! The food is so fresh. They usually have a wait time but it goes by fast.

Small, packed, and no reservations, but still one of the go-to sushi spots in town We squeezed into Hiro Sushi for dinner (literally, tables are that close ). The sushi was fresh overall, though the uni wasn't quite what we hoped for. But the bluefin tuna and toro nigiri was amazing. They open at 5 PM and there's already a line by then, so go early if you don't want to wait. It's not fancy, not spacious, but if you're here for quality sushi and quick service, this spot delivers.

Salmon and tuna were so soft and buttery; would definitely order again. Quality of food and service was amazing. However, I would tell everyone to expect an hour wait minimum. also, Ricky my goat

Got lucky with a spot at the bar since it can be a wait to get in. The chefs were super friendly, and the sushi itself was absolutely delicious. My friend went with the sushi dinner and I did the tuna maki, tamago nigiri, and to try something new, I added some octopus nigiri. Cool spot, there are more things on the menu that I want to try so I will definitely be back

Super fresh sushi, great prices, and lightning-fast service! The fish was melt-in-your-mouth good, and the rolls were creative and delicious. No long waits, super friendly staff , perfect for a casual dinner. A hidden gem for sushi lovers! The edamame was a bit oily but the garlic was legit. The scallop roll was crispy delicious and the spicy crispy tuna was my favorite!

Great service and a wonderful cozy ambience for a sushi bar! The food was really tasty and I would go back there again.

The food here is really good! I ordered the sushi dinner ($28) and thought it was well worth it. It came with miso soup, salad, a tuna roll, and 8 pieces of sushi. The sushi was fresh and tasted like it was good quality. We arrived a few minutes before open at 5 pm and we were seated right when it opened. If you come at 4:40 you can put your name on the waitlist early. If you come with a group larger than 2 people I recommend doing that.

    They do not.

    Do they have happy hour?

    Yes, 2-5, but it's a limited menu.

    Do they take reservations?

You have to be there in person to put your name down, they don't take reservations over the phone.

Is this Japanese run, i.e., traditional? Do they do an Omakase? Reservations possible? Thanks!!!

Japanese owned and Japanese run. The son has his own place.…

You may want to call them. I don't think they offer HH prices on food.

Are there any happy hour specials?

No happy hour specials. Just great sushi.

How is their quality of food?

Best we've had in AZ, super fresh. Compares to some of the places in little Tokyo (LA) and old Torrance.

Upon arrival, the place doesn't look like anything special. It's inside a strip mall, and looks mediocre. However, do not judge too soon. Once you get inside, everything is well laid out & it's very nice. It was busy when we went in on a Friday night, BUT we got seated quicker than estimated- which is always a win! I was not happy with where we were seated, as it was facing the wall in the small bar area. We are people watchers by nature, so it's always fun to be in a spot where we can look around the room effortlessly. However, it wasn't the end of the world and I certainly didn't want to wait any longer, the food looked wonderful & I was starving! I do not remember exactly which rolls we got, but... all of them were EXCELLENT!! Everything was undoubtedly fresh, and made with quality ingredients. I thought the black rice was really neat! I've never seen that before. The waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating. It took no time at all to get our orders out, which was impressive considering that the place was packed near capacity! As we left, all of the sushi pros behind the glass thanked us for coming in and wished us a great rest of our evening. I thought that was very kind. It's not very often that you find a whole line of people stopping what they are doing to wish you well on your way out of their establishment. All in all, 10/10 experience! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves Sushi!

Honestly, I like lunch as it works better with my schedule, and I get to enjoy the experience midday! All the perks at dinner but a different vibe. I was looking forward to the meal & the experience, and it did not disappoint. To our server, Valerie, you did an amazing job and like a few others, will be forever engraved in my head when I'm coming back. Upfront disclaimer... yes, Japanese. I actually had in mind getting the burger before coming, as the last time I came I chose something different and I had a bite from my friend, and it left a lasting impression for sure. This Burger hits different, and it's part of the prefix menu... and man, it's good!!! Cooked medium and served with a miso aioli and these onions that are not heavy and I think tossed with kimchi. Don't get me wrong... I wouldn't come here without grabbing some sushi. I ended up getting the Hamachi Nigiri and the Maguro Nigiri. To drink, I had the Tsurai cocktail, as I like a little tequila with fruit and we shared the iced tea. My business associate got the Sushi Omakase, which I had before. Bottom line, we were still raving about the food, the service, and just the vibe during the day.

We were very sceptical at first but the recommendation was spot on. We were seated right away and our server Bela approached immediately. She was very friendly and went down the menu telling us all about the specials and her recommendations. We needed no recommendations because we were there for one thing the Bei special. The special was an assortment of various rolls assembled beautifully making each piece stand out. The first bite was divine and as we worked around the ring of rolls they got better and better. The sauces brought perfect harmony and complemented the fish. The sushi was incredibly fresh not having the fishy order lingering. The rolls melted in your mouth like butter leaving you satisfied. It was so good we placed a second order. Bela stopped by frequently checking on us and also telling us about the restaurant and the area and provided a friendly atmosphere that you do not often get in northern Midwest. The Spider Roll was very good except for the sauce on top that did not suite our palate but after removing the sauce it was fantastic. The Hot Mama Roll was also amazing. The flavors went well with the Yuki Mango Nigori Sake. We also tried some of their beers and spent a while catching up. Belas service was second to none and made this reunion fabulous. The sushi at Bei was better than 95% of our sushi restaurants in my state and the price was very good. They also have a cute cat robot that delivers food! Thank you Bela we hope to come back again on our next trip to Arizona to try more food.

The place was buzzing with loud electronic music and tons of people dining -- I think because the ceiling is so high the noise is amplified. Because it was so busy it took a while for the server to come over but he did with waters which was nice but then the menus are all on QR codes -- which is annoying because it is hard to look at everything and because the menu is very confusing it would have been nice to see everything on paper. The menu is confusing because the selections are very odd -- I thought it was a mexican-asian/sushi fusion restaurant -- which I guess it is but it was still really hard to create the best food experience when I couldn't see everything available. My friend was hungry so she immediately put in an order for calamari and I was being called to order the blood orange margarita slushie. When the margarita came it was like nothing I have ever seen before. It looked more like a milkshake or like a creamsicle. I dove in thinking it would be too sweet but it was actually quite delicious and I sucked it back in a second! Also I put in an order for the edamame which sounded really good in the description -- "woodfired" and spicy miso butter -- but when they came they were really spicy and the woodfired element was making me cough, strangely enough -- I couldn't finish them! Finally after waiting forever we got the drinks and apps. It then took another 15 minutes to order our food. Again it was busy and my friend and I were catching up so it wasn't a big deal. We wanted a fairly light dinner so we just ordered one roll -- the Fuego, which had yellowtail and a whitefish, chili, cilantro and cucumber plus a pico de gallo on top -- it was very flavorful -- although a bit spicy for those who are spice wimps like me. Overall, thought it was a good meal but wasn't blown away.
