No frills, no extra fees. Just a solid massage at a fair price with great service. Exactly what I…read morewanted from a massage and they really took care of some knots that had been bothering me.

~CASH ONLY~~ Appointments STRONGLY Recommended…read more Foot Massage: 1/2 hour = $30 1 hour = $50 Body Massage: 1/2 hour = $40 1 hour = $60 Couldn't get in same day (called at 12noon on a weekday), so I made an appointment for the next day *yay* ONE woman runs the entire operation herself. Literally just her to answer the phone, greet walk-ins and the one actually doing the massage. So.... this means that while you are getting your massage (CASH - In Advance), don't be surprised when she takes multiple short breaks to answer the front door and/or take calls for appointments. The private room was spacious, dimly lit and had a space heater that kept the room a very comfortable temperature. Undress, lay face down and put a standard sized bath towel on yourself. Minutes later, a quick knock on the door and she gets to work. Not need for conversation, this lady clearly knows her stuff. It seems that she sought out all of the kinks and knots with fierce determination (think deep tissue /sports massage). This lady is tiny, but mighty. I had to go into my special place a couple of times to avoid crying; it needed to be done. Some men might get the wrong idea: Because she is so petite, she utilizes her elbow, knees, overhead ceiling bars and other techniques such as straddling your head (while face down) to really work out stubborn knots using leverage vs brute strength; IT WORKS! She has mad skills with that overhead bar. She has feet as small as hands and if I didn't feel a slight toenail for a split second, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. As noted in other reviews: Yeah, she gets all up in there; like a job. I was slightly concerned that the icy hot applied to my neck may make it down into my butt crack, but nope. She is very skilled, super efficient and doesn't waste time with pleasantries. There are no "curtains" anywhere; WRONG PLACE - this place only has 2 private rooms for massage *smh*. She is a very busy professional and I admire her work ethic. Just a note: I tipped $15 (25%) because she was good, but cut the massage a little short (closer to 50-55 min), had multiple interruptions to answer the front door and phone. When I put the tip on the front desk, her English suddenly got a whole lot better, "you tip me $15? why not more? I did a good job for you." I said yeah, $60 for the 1-hour body massage and $15 dollar tip. She scoffed. Um ok. I didn't want to argue so I just thanked her and left. Kinda odd, but who knows what kind of day she was having, so I didn't take it personally. I would go back again. It would be heck of a lot better if she hired a receptionist. The constant interruptions for a late morning appointment on a weekday was a little much. I would describe the massage itself as a much needed deep tissue/sports massage for a very reasonable price *no frills - thumbs up* Noticed that she uses Aveeno lotion, a version of icy hot (sparingly).

I honestly cannot understand how the ratings can be so high…read more I did not enjoy this experience AT ALL. As an another reviewer opined just six days ago--- it was-- "disgusting." I find it really interesting that there seems to be some sort of public consensus to not rate this place honestly. Do I have to fear the wrath of the owner or the Oregon Hippie Community or something? Well, bring it on. I had been looking forward to visiting Jackson Wellsprings for YEARS, having first read about it in the book Thru Hiking Will Break Your Heart. My cousin and I had reservations this summer, but we ended up canceling most of our trip. Now I know that she did not miss out. I arrived on New Year's Eve, after having called first to make sure tent camping would be allowed. The woman at the front desk who checked me in was very friendly and polite, and could not speak highly enough about the place. After paying $25 to camp in the meadow, I could use the rest of the facilities for an additional $10. Generally speaking, $25 is cheap to camp, especially for someone with less experience on where you can camp for free, or how to get the kinds of massive discounts I usually get. But $25 is a lot to put up a tent on a communal noisy, tobacco filled lawn. I would note that sharing a group site at camp 4 in Yosemite is actually more glamorous for only $10/person. I'm not sure why Jackson Wellsprings feels that sleeping on their lawn is worth so much. The bathroom was so terrible that I did everything I could to avoid using it. There was literally five inches of space between the toilet seat and door, creating an impossible situation for any female who is larger than Twinkie. I literally was not able to shut the door while using the toilet without risking the fact that my pants would wipe the entire underside of the toilet clean of its ample soil. None of the restroom water was filtered in any way. The water that I used to wash my hands stunk like sulfur until I was able to take a shower somewhere else the next day. The spa shower was the same way. The water smelled so bad, it made me really uncomfortable. I felt like I was bathing in sewage. As a nursing school dropout, before dropping out, I got the highest grade in my microbiology class at Sac State. In this class, we learned to identify several pathogens by smell alone. I've also worked in volcanic environments and am familiar with how hot springs normally smell gassy. But this place just smelled bad. Bad bad bad. Like a literal toilet and like bad bacteria. For the public soak rate of $10-15, you get access to ONLY ONE COMMUNAL HOT SPRING which is set up like a hot tub and does not feel "natural" at all. This one pool had a lot of visible dirt and sediment floating in the water. It smelled like human chicken broth. An old rich lady and her autistic grandson were loudly gossiping about how fat everyone else looked. The fancier springs pictured on the internet cost about $85/hour to rent, and even if I had the money and audacity to do this, I would not do so based on the lack of cleanliness in the public facilities. The bathrooms were not clean, and in fact, everything was so dirty and gross that I'm confused by the more positive reviews. I felt itchy, smelly, and stuffed up until I was able to get to the nearest state park for a proper shower in clean water. When I got out of the shower and smelled the clothes that had been on my body, I understood why I'd overheard a Walmart associate gossip to her peers in Spanish (a few hours earlier) that "that white girl stinks." Even after doing laundry, my swimsuit still smells like a literal pile of garbage. This might have actually ruined my swimsuit. I would never do this again and I definitely don't recommend it.
