Great Chinese/HK style restaurant in Riverside. I never liked orange chicken because it's so Americanized but their orange chicken was great. One of my friends ordered and I got a few pieces. Their pineapple bums were so delicious and I had the scrambled eggs with shrimps. Yummmmmm will definitely be back. read more

We have been here two times - it has authentic HK style Chinese food which you can't find in Coachella Valley. Tasty and reasonable prices. We had shrimp wanton soup and BBQ pork//chicken and rice plate. Both were tasty. Service is good - looks like they quite busy.. I love this place! So far I've ordered from here 4 separate times and definitely will be back again. The food here tastes great and is always cooked perfectly. So far my favorite items are the Yang Chow Fried Rice and the HK Crispy Pork. The service here is excellent and the staff is very friendly. The food is always ready very quickly and everything is reasonably priced. The food here reminds me of restaurants in Rowland Heights and Monterey Park, I am SO GLAD we finally have a good Asian restaurant here in Riverside! This is my favorite place to go for Cantonese food when I miss home. Their char siu is juicy and home-like. The roast pork is also super juicy and well made. Many places tend to overcook their meat and it turns out dry, but HK BBQ house makes sure their food comes out like mom and dad's food! It literally makes me miss home when I eat here, but I'm glad I found a replacement. My boyfriend literally had a Ratatouille moment where he was thrown back into his childhood after eating the seafood clay pot and remembered what he hadn't had in years. This is the go-to for chinese food in Riverside frankly. They have such a homey vibe and they get you seated pretty quick. Once you sit down, the menu comes out relatively fast and they come at the right time for your order. My favorite dish is the Honey BBQ Pork Wonton Noodle Soup and the Lemon Tea! Both the BBQ pork and roasted duck were flavorful and succulent. For anyone who is new to this place I would suggest getting the two items combined platter because I could NOT pick one over the other. As much as I love the pork Chasiu, the House Special Filet Mignon Cubes was truly the highlight of the show. The beef was tender, well seasoned and the beans were fresh. Came with a side of rice which was cooked just right. Simple and delicious. And DO NOT sleep on their ice milk tea. I normally don't care for beverages that much. You won't find a more complimentary pair than the quality, rich food of HK BBQ and the amazing service. Knowingly that Riverside is not known for chinese restaurants, this place actually caught me by surprise that their food is actually pretty good. The prices aren't too bad either. Stunningly bad food. The only dish that was edible was the spicy garlic chicken, and it was just ok. The vegetables in the mixed veg chow mein were extremely overcooked. The dry noodles were greasy and did not seem fresh. Fried dumplings and sauce both had an unpleasant flavor. By far the worst dish was the soy sauce BBQ chicken. This place is the real deal. I grew up in NYC and went to NYC Chinatown for authentic Hong Kong style BBQ. I was able to find places in Los Angeles (especially in the San Gabriel Valley) that was just as good, but I could never find a place in the Inland Empire that was up to those standards ... until now. This restaurant is every bit as good as the the places I grew up with in NYC and the places I found in the San Gabriel Valley. The one ding was that the waitress screwed up our order. She gave our Beef Chow Fun to a table that sat down way after us. By the time we got our Beef Chow Fun, we were practically finished with everything else that we had ordered. Not so coincidentally, the Beef Chow Fun we got came around the same time that the other table (that got our original Beef Chow Fun) got the rest of their order. But the food was so good, that I'll let that go and still give the 5 stars. They also have "Westernized" Chinese food on the menu. But we didn't go for that. read more
