As I sit in the restaurant which I've eaten before-- I see one the employees take a spoon from a patrons trash pile and reuse it to reset the table. The patron had black soot and/grease all over his hands as he looked like he came from work.....I'm sure he touched the spoon and some poor unsuspecting patron is going to put that spoon to their mouth assuming it's been washed Then the table next to me ordered tea. Really the best Chinese food we've found after 3 years in the area. The atmosphere is lacking, but it's a clean, well-lighted place if you want to take advantage of the buffet. Specific dishes that we enjoyed were hot and sour soup (which lived up to its name), pork spareribs (meatier than average and well-marinated), chicken lo mein, pork fried rice, chicken and broccoli, and roast pork with bean sprouts. The only disappointment (reason for 4 instead of 5 stars) was our order of steamed pork dumplings--way too doughy, filling was sparse and lacking in flavor, and the dipping sauce was too sweet and didn't taste like the ponzu sauce that seems to be standard. Staff was pleasant and efficient. If you want atmosphere, get takeout and put candles on your table. read more

I'll break it down: Spring rolls-Best part of the meal but kind of mushy inside like veggie mixture came out of the freezer (C-). Steamed Dumplings- Not too bad but slightly chewy. The dipping sauce was disgusting (D-). Dragon and Phoenix- General Tao's chicken was soggy and lacking of flavor. I asked for Xtra spicy and there was not one red pepper in the meal (F). Used to go to this place often a few years back because it was really the only place you could pop in and get a quick meal with a buffet. The food was never the greatest but the price was a steal so you couldn't really complain. Stopped in here after a long time and the place looked like it needed a good cleaning. Everything was sticky from the floors to the table to even some of the plates. The quality of the food was much worse than I remember and some things were even cold. Sad to say not even a buffet can help this place. There are so many other better chinese restaurants in the area i'd pop by one of those instead of coming back here. read more

Well, first kids are the same price as adults for the buffet. Second, my daughter needed to use the bathroom and it was absolutely disgusting. I informed the gentleman cleaning off the tables, he took a peak into the bathroom and informed me it was clean and he will not be cleaning it. read more

This place gets 5 stars because I've learned what I had...after I lost it. I always thought this place was a fine Chinese restaurant. It has a cheap lunch and dinner buffet, delivers in an ample amount of time, and has really yummy food. What the buffet lacks in quantity they make up for in quality! The atmosphere is severely lacking, but the employees in this small town know you when you come in and are some of the friendliest people around. FOOD: Everything is prepared well and has good flavor. My favorite is the moo shu pork (served with chinese pancakes and hoisin sauce) and cheese wantons. I moved to Philadelphia to attend school and realized that Chinese food of this caliber is completely absent--which is strange because it is largely a food city, there are all kinds of great ethnic cuisines to be had, except Chinese. There is an incredible QUANTITY of Chinese food joints, but none have QUALITY. It is ridiculous...the first time I ordered Chinese food here I nearly died. It was really salty, kinda bland, smothered in sauce, and the fried rice is some kind of crazy bio-hazardous yellow color. I'm giving 5 stars and with very good reason! The food was great, employees are friendly, and didn't cost a fortune like other places! Ok now let's start off with the food, I walked in and grabbed a plate, the smell was wonderful and I haven't even put anything on my plate yet. After my I filled my plate and sat down, the first bite was everything I expected. It was fresh, hot, and yummy. At the end of my meal, the nice girl picked up my plate from the table the second it seemed that I was done and even asked if I enjoyed the food. Well folks,made a big mistake. And that is, tried this place for chinese food,take out. And when we got it home we tried to eat this crap,they called food. We threw this 65.00 dinner for four right into the garbage. This was right after hurricane sandy. No power,no water and no food. Sooo we got food from two ho"s and got two big bags of crap. The egg rolls were not cooked at all,just slop. some kind of veggies in dough. The soups were dish water and I'm being very serious,you could not drink this dish water. The main courses ,"pork from another planet" was like pink rubber bands,God knows what it really was. Pork fried rice that was easily the worst I and my house guests have ever had. The rest of the order was some kind of sweet and sour bad dog meat or some week old road kill. This is got to be a target for our health dept. to go, eat and find out what they are passing off as food. my guess....Five day old garbage from a bad eatery located somewhere in Newton. Sure, it's average Chinese strip mall food, BUT it's OK The owners (employees) are very courteous and attentive. I usually order a luncheon or buffet to go. .... or sometimes I order a soup for lunch to eat in. This is where they are different. The beef chow fun was all stuck together...the twice cooked pork had sallow wilted cabbage in it..and shocker! They both tasted the same. Same overly sweet sauce That actually was disgusting. I never bother to leave negative reviews. And I HATE doing this to a local business. But, my experience yesterday is forcing my hand. I've been eating here for at least 15 years. Decent food, good prices and friendly staff. Yesterday I was there to get my usual 'buffet to go'. The gentleman behind the counter has been there for as long as I've been coming here. Nice guy. After I filled my to-go containers and brought them to the counter, I happened to see him in the employee bathroom, as the door was open. He had both hands in the toilet tank, rooting around in there (to adjust the float or something, I guess). When he was done, he shook the water off his hands. Then he reached under the toilet seat to tighten the seat screws. Then he wiped his hands on his pants, walked up to the counter and proceeded to grab my containers to bag them. That's right, NO hand washing. When I told him what I saw, he just looked at me. I walked out, and will never set foot in there again. read more

Mediocre chinese food at a fair price. service is usually quick but sometimes iffy. At our last visit my wife ordered the beef and broccoli but the waiter brought chicken and broccoli instead. When she complained he protested that the order was correct and when she insisted it was not, he began to whine that if she sent the order back HE would have to pay for it. This went back and forthe for some minutes before she finally gave up and ate the chicken and broccoli. Now she refuses to go back. Too bad, but it wasn't that good to begin with and there are plenty of other good places in the area. read more
