Proof that this is HOA Nexus

    - Fragile leadership - Vengeful tactics - Poor communication - Liar - Suspected and reported fraud (4 cars and a couple motorbikes for 2 people that never use them?) - "repaving" consisted of a cheap job of painting over the old asphalt to fake a new look. - Main character syndrome (just look at where the cameras are placed. See how well the entirety of the complex is "protected" -- hint: it's not, it's only their place) - If you aren't on their good side, you will know by having your property damaged and character bad-mouthed - Neighbors are horrible people who thrive to be an only singular type of community. To add more detail because the person replying is trying to make this review sound like a mistake. I've added a photo of a "notice" that was "received" by throwing it on the ground near my vehicle. - The location is "Mollison Estates" -- see attached photo for proof including contact name of person discussed here. - The person who keeps responding is trying to discredit my review. So, I ask 1 question, if this person is not associated with your business, then why do they have an email address that uses your business name? Do you just give out email addresses to anyone? No. You give them out to your employees. - Sounds like they are trying to separate themselves from terrible management when it's probably them who are encouraging it. - I'll be contacting the others who witnessed all of this and having them post reviews too.

The rules are often inconsistently applied. Here are piles of things on the balcony & in the parking lot that have been there a while.

Working with Ryan has ranged from a descent experience (at first) to down right frustrating. When I needed direction on an architectural approval, that experience was frustrating and (unnecessarily) lengthy. Who knew that getting dual pane windows approved could be so time consuming and cumbersome. It's too bad some of the simple questions couldn't be resolved in a quick phone call. Even when there was an issue with someone in the complex, same thing... my questions and concerns went ignored. Since 2020 when COVID-19 started, I don't believe the phones have been answered. They simply ALWAYS go to voicemail and I rarely receive a return phone call. At times when I email, I don't get a returned email. It wasn't like that at first. Even at the beginning (2019) when they first started managing our property, when they were having some difficulty properly billing, there was prompt and regular communication. We had to be patient with them providing accurate accounting as they navigated figuring out the old companies books and transitioning as the new management team. Back then, at least emails were promptly returned and the phones were returned. The grounds are finally improving though still need improvement. I hear from many others that HOA's tend not to have customer service as a focus so, sadly, perhaps I shouldn't expect much. It seems like there is a tendency to be self-righteous and respond defensively instead of acknowledging when errors occur and focusing on solutions to work cooperatively toward the same goal, a great community. Too bad!

Ask the Community - HOA Nexus

Does the Bernardo Springs residents (Sittella) need to buy HO6/wall in/unit owners policy? Thanks.

Hi Regina. I’ll send your contact information over to your community manager so she can follow up with you. In the future, you can send these questions directly through our online portal directly to your community manager.

Do you handle 184 unit HOAs in San Diego?

Hi Janet, yes we do! I can send you a proposal for full management services if you like? Just provide me your associations name and email address.

We interviewed various management companies, and we we were about ready to sign with a different company, and then entered California Dream HOA Management and Lamia. She came on site had a meeting with the board and addressed all of our concerns that we had with any transitions, visions and the future of our great little community. After reviewing many companies, and ready to sign with another company toe next day, we were so impressed with Lamia and her presentation of the company that we signed a contract with California Dream HOA Management, that same day. We could not be more excited for a fresh start and new beginnings. The bonus is that we were in the process of building out a new fitness center for our HOA. The opening of the New Fitness Center will coincide with our transition to California Dream HOA Management. We anticipate a smooth transition from our current management Company to California Dream HOA Management company. They are also helping with our Fitness Center Grand opening, now that this Pandemic is winding down. Progress photos attached. Once again we are expecting great things move forward. Thanks Lamia for caring about our home as much as we do!!!

It cost thousands of dollars because the moving van could not be unloaded waiting for that false information. Ten years later, the manager wanted to mediate what he caused. He reported false info, then wanted to be judge and jury. There have been years more harassment where he would not correct his records, sending me a blank form, then laminated false information to post in the lobby. He told me what was not possible, then, with another landlord who said he is working with the manager, they were going to lie. Then this 'friend' of the manager offered to buy my unit, adding a sexual slur. Another owner who sold since told me there is nothing that can be done because of who he is. After my water was shut off and my phone cut off from the entry, I spoke to senior services who said he is passive aggressive and needs to be reported to the management company but he owns. My doctor with UCSD said one word to me; GREED. The manager is a professor at UCSD. Senior services, I am 77 years old, sent me forms to be submitted to the District Attorney. I did not ask for that. I just want him away from me. I have been bombarded with all kinds of things caused by his defamation. I am a retired Navy Systems Accountant with a Master's in Management. He is not management. I originally wrote to the State Real Estate Commisioner because of disclosure issue, then the police 10 years later when I found the truth and his actions after. I now reported to senior services. There is also issues with our complex with funding down to 23%. State recommends 76%. There will be assessments for this 48 unit complex and I hope he does not hurt more people. This company appears to be what we get without management regulation for California. The manager is owner of units, on the HOA board with his conflicts of interest. Someone told me they are afraid of me. I fear the manager and his falsehoods.

As an HOA homeowner, my experience with this property management company has been extremely…read moredisappointing. Mistakes can happen, and I understand that. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of accountability, the months it took to acknowledge the mistake, and the absence of any meaningful effort to resolve it. Earlier this year, an incorrect withdrawal was made from my bank account through the HOA payment system (Yardi). The transaction caused an overdraft fee and ultimately had to be disputed through my bank, which reversed the charge. Over the following months, I sent numerous emails, made repeated phone calls, and followed up almost weekly seeking a simple explanation of how the transaction occurred. My goal was not simply to reverse the charge--I wanted to understand how an unauthorized payment had been initiated so I could be confident it would not happen again before continuing to use the payment system. Instead of investigating the issue, I was repeatedly directed to contact Yardi. When I finally reached Yardi, I was informed they could not investigate homeowner accounts and that any review had to be handled by the property management company, which administers the system. Despite explaining the issue repeatedly, I continued receiving responses that addressed a different question than the one I was asking. I repeatedly asked who or what had authorized the transaction and how it occurred, yet I never received a clear explanation. Even after escalating the matter to a member of the HOA Board, it still took months before the management company acknowledged that a mistake had occurred. What frustrated me most was not the mistake itself, but the amount of time and effort it took to get someone to take ownership of it. I felt like I was being passed from one party to another while repeatedly having to explain the same issue, without anyone fully addressing the actual problem. To make matters worse, after mailing a check to resolve the remaining balance, I was told the check had not been received. Based on that information, I placed a stop payment to protect myself. The following day, I was informed that the check had in fact been received, and I was then told I would be responsible for the resulting bank fee. Throughout this experience, communication was reactive rather than proactive, and accountability was consistently lacking. Homeowners deserve timely communication, thorough investigations when problems arise, and a management company that takes ownership of issues instead of requiring homeowners to spend months chasing answers. I hope this feedback encourages meaningful improvements in customer service, communication, and accountability.

My wife and I relocated her from the east coast. we immediate fell in love with he beautiful surrounds in the development. Loved the easy access to everything. However, this community is run by morons. The HOA is high, for nothing. My welcoming to the neighborhood, was you can only have the movers park their truck in the neighborhood for 2 hours. So we had them unload everything into the garage. We got towed the second day we lived here ($335) no warning. My wife and I from time to time would sit and have a glass a wine at the end of the day up near the pool area to unwind and take in some of the great SD weather. Two weeks later the board passes Escala Law and now I no longer can enjoy a glass a wine in any common areas. Like some bad rock concert they starting checking people's bags as you went to use the common areas. We are huge dog lover's and sadly to admit the fact the had a large dog park ride her in the community was a huge selling point for us. We usually run our dog every night for exercise. The park has a tiny fenced area and a large open run. The same powers to be at ESCALA must be cat people as they have shutdown the open area and have demanded everyone put there dogs in the tiny area. Literally the area should not contain anymore than 5 dogs at a time. On a given night there may be 30 dogs. Very sad. I'd prefer not even to get into the construction of these homes. Only 4 years old and the craftsmanship is poor at best. A sink has falling through the counter. The facet leaks at it's base (separate sink from the first I mentioned). The plaster is breaking in the corner/seams in the walls. Our neighbor had to replace their garage door and ours sounds as if we'll need to get it replaced as well. Not just the power lifter the actually door and tracking system. Location is good true. However for the price we paid, unless you like working with a handful of power hungry, control freaks in the HOA board, look elsewhere. I hate to damage my own home value, but I'm moved to let others know. Alot of parking issues, true you do have 2 parking spaces and you do have some parking, but think home many days in the past 3 years you had to park in your driveway due to guests, home improvement projects, storage issues (very very little inside the homes) that you might have to have your vehicle outside the garage. Here, if you do that it's gone. I never park on the streets, but if you knock on everyone's door, they'd tell you, yep they got once too. My neighbor put a nice plant on her lower entry way. It was removed with a note, not approved by HOA. Next time there will be a fine. Fun place to live. Final story, the current president of the Bridges HOA, came to me on the last day to enlist your name for the following year election. He begged me to sign his form. He needed one last signature to get his name on the ballot. He said I'm the only one running! All he need was one more signature. I asked how many did he have already. He said 5. He couldn't get 6 people out of the hundreds who live here to sign. End of story. If you would like to buy a house, please call me, I'd love to get out of here.

Hello Mission Ridge…read more I used to love you. You are so pretty and well kept. But the people who govern your land make you unbearable and undesirable! The reason you're getting 2 stars is because of the board members and the management company. The complex is at least a 4-5 star facility! Here is my story: I lived at Mission Ridge for over 4 years. I had wonderful landlords who have supported us (my boyfriend and I) through some uncomfortable issues presented by Mission Ridge. They keep the grounds looking nice. There is a huge pool (Olympic size), Male and Female Saunas, and a gym, pretty nice amenities' for a 40 year old complex. If you're planning on renting a unit at this complex, get ready to be treated like the redheaded step child of the family. But If you own, you instantly become a valued member of the Mission Ridge society. I lived here for 4 years and when a family moved in underneath us they complained of noise, some 6 months after they moved in, which the board members tried to fine us for. Keep in mind, when you live under people, you are guaranteed to hear noise above you. (That is a longer story that you probably don't want to read about.) Thankfully, our landlords fought for us and couldn't understand why the people who moved in didn't grasp the concept of living in a multi family environment. In one scenario, my landlord was talking to a woman who worked in their office about the noise and the comment from the office lady was "They are renters!" to which our landlord shut her down right away by saying "And they don't have the same rights as any other person living there?" The woman had nothing more to say. The next issue is they have these guards who "watch" the complex over night. But you can occasionally catch them asleep in their guard shack, or talking on the phone, not paying attention to the people who drive into our complex. The older guy, Max, He doesn't even hear/see the cars coming up the hill. He'll look up as you're driving by. It's pretty worthless! (See my review for Active Protective Services) Next, the Gossip! Oh do the people who live here LOVE to Gossip. I found out some things about my landlord from people who live and work here told me . It's quite inappropriate in my opinion. Watch out for the round woman who walks around in the evening. The board is constently changing rules. You'll get monthly notices about the changes the board makes. Parking policies changed and they tow any car that they want to, so watch out! If you rent a unit, you have to have permission to have a guest park here. But you pay the rent, not the landlord. It's complete garbage! The Pet policy changed. You can't hang anything up on your balcony without board approval. Once they tried to fine us for having a refridgerator on our balcony, which we didn't have. They sent us this blury black and white photo of a balcony they claimed was ours. and it wasn't. Then when I was dealing with the noise issue, they tried to use this mystery fridge that against me! Asking if we were dragging it across the floor.... Cause I love to just drag heavy refrigerators across my condo at weird hours of the night for fun! Moral of the story! If you'll be RENTING, good luck! if you OWN, you're already a gold member of the Mission Ridge Community.
