I got the forbidden chicken sandwich... it was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had!!! The bun was perfectly toasted and buttered the chicken had a perfectly fried and crispy with a nice and sweet sauce! The fries where perfectly crispy and hot didn't get soggy and came with a fire sauce! For 7 dollars it was the best sandwich I've ever had beating any sub shop or restaurant! I also a got cookie and it was the best cookie ever sweet, salty, and had a chocolate explosion when you bit into it. It was perfectly baked and was so good, honestly the best I've ever got! New to the area, just moved and tried their takeout for the first time tonight and I am one happy girl. We got a Southern Comfort chicken sandwich that was so delicious, my dog tried stealing my last few bites right from my plate when my back was turned. Luckily for her she only made out with a mouthful of top bun. Also got the Chipotle chicken sammie, also outrageously good. Fubar fries with Parm cream and brisket along with some rice balls to top everything else off. Ordered some takeout for myself and my daughter last Saturday. We were happily surprised on our first visit! Food was ready in time and sandwiches were delicious. Although they looked small they were filling. I had the southern fried chicken sandwich & my daughter had another of the fried chicken sandwiches. Today, however, I was very disappointed and it took a lot of patience for me not to go into the restaurant and curse someone out. Here now, and the kid at the register shorted me $10 change. Then I had to wait 15 mins for a single sandwich... That wouldn't be so bad, except four people came in after me (two of which ordered the same thing) and got their food within 5 mins. The same kid gave my food to the wrong person twice. The cooks even commented on it. Also for the record, it's just an average-ass sandwich. A $4 mouthful of mostly bread. Go across the street to StayGold or next door to 10th Ave Burrito for better food, and staff that can remember to get it to you. Really great and really unique food. It is so worth it. One of my family members tried their food during the Belmar Restaurant tour and fell in love. I went to pick up and the staff were so nice and friendly. I usually use this app as a place to find restaurants. I rarely if ever leave a review but I ordered takeout last night from here and it was the best I've gotten in a very long time. I did not use door dash they delivered right from the restaurant. Everything was hot my soda was cold and it was an abundant amount of food that was absolutely delicious. I got the fubar fries and a brisket sandwich. The meat was perfectly tender. I had half left over that I heated in toaster oven for lunch today. Just as delish if not a bit better. Hoagitos was one of the first places we tried when we moved to Bradley Beach. It was sort of just luck that we found it, but man, was it some good luck. Other than maybe the Chinese food restaurant, Hoagitos is the restaurant that we have returned to most frequently. Some suggestions to customers: add them on Instagram so you can see the hidden menu and special options, and try the Mac and Cheese! For the love of all that is holy, try the Mac and Cheese! Suggestions to the restaurant: it would be awesome if the online ordering option updated more frequently, and if the other options were available online, or if you would tell us how to order them in your Instagram captions. I've had to call the restaurant to figure out how to order something special which kind of defeats the introvert love connection with ordering online. Also, not all the regular menu items are on the online ordering menu... like the cookies. But still, I love the food, if you think the sandwiches are small you should probably consider food therapy because you're insane. Also, please bottle the ranch you put on the dude ranch. Thank you! This place is unbelievable. In terms of a fast casual experience, it's fantastic. It'll take more than 10 seconds to make your sandwich, but the flavors will blow your local burrito joint out of the water. Prices are low enough that you can easily leave satisfied for less than a ten spot. The sides are delicious, though I've only tried about half of them. It seems these folks have figured out a recipe for weapons-grade mac and cheese. The fries are among the best I've had at the shore. You might be able to get a bigger Turkey sandwich for cheaper at a deli, but that sandwich is gonna be on wonder bread with some iceberg lettuce and mayo. Every ingredient I've encountered at Hoagitos is of the utmost quality, in comparison. The panko crusted fried chicken is particularly noteworthy. This place serves you the sandwich out of the newspaper's food column rather than the one you grew up expecting. Staff was super friendly and - provided it's not too busy - will offer to make you basically anything within reason. Only notes would be: more vegetarian options (although they've clearly made an effort), more bread options. But honestly both of those could go either way. Keep it up y'all, this place is bopping. I really hope they can stay open and thriving given how crowded their new digs are in terms of restaurants. read more

I love the boardwalk location in Asbury Park, but it can't match the unique twists like Mac-and-cheese that are available at the Belmar location. My favorite so far has been the forbidden chicken...only a food obsessed person would make the choice to do thigh over breast (such a great choice). I had the Southern Comfort: Panko fried chicken topped with Mac and cheese, slaw, and chili jam. I'm gonna go ahead and say it's the best thing I've ever eaten. When we opened it, well... they forgot an order of risotto balls. We didn't feel like going through the trouble of going back, the food we DID have was damn good, it was only about 6 bucks and some change, and we know restaurants are hurting right now. So we let it slide...Today, a week later, I got an email informing me that that the charge for the risotto balls was refunded, without my ever having to ask. I am floored.
