    Pho and a banh mi
    Schyler D.

Stellar hidden gem. Very easy to miss, but worth looking for! Very basic layout and has a family-run feel which is great. Simple menu and great prices. Banh mi tasted amazing and the pho was also good (especially the broth). Wish both had slightly more meat but that's a personal preference. They had a number of other baked goods available too that I definitely need to try next time.

Authentic Vietnamese food, but don't expect much in terms of greeting since it's a small, no-frills spot. There are a few tables to sit, but it can feel a bit crowded with family members hanging out in the space. We got five sandwiches because, yes, they're that good--and the bonus of getting one free is always a win! My first visit wasn't the best, though, as the service was pretty minimal. The guy just took my order and that was it. However, tonight the experience was much better. The woman behind the counter was incredibly sweet. She asked if I planned to eat right away or take it to go, so she could pre-make the sandwiches and keep the veggies on the side. It was such a thoughtful touch and made a huge difference; when I got home, the French bread wasn't soggy. Overall, definitely take advantage of the sandwich deal. We ended up with 3 out of 5 sandwiches in one day!

This is down-home Banh-Mi made authentically, one of the best if not the best, in Nashville. A small mom and pop, do not expect a big greeting and someone showing you to a seat and setting you up with a napkin and silverware. Order from the pictures on the board or the photos of food on the wall. Have a seat, eat, and pay on your way out. They have various noodle bowls but the main draw for me are the sandwiches.

I dined at Hoang Tofu on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 1 pm. Hoang Tofu is certainly a hole in the wall type establishment offering various Vietnamese dishes including pho, bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup), and banh mi, banh cuon/uot (rice crepe), and many more. It is a small place with very few tables, so I would not count on dining in if it's busy. I had a bowl of bun bo hue and a banh mi. Several times in the past I've had the bun bo hue, and the meat had tasted old. But this time, the meat tasted okay. So be aware that there are some consistency issues with meat quality in the bun bo, and potentially other noodle soups. The banh mi tasted good and is excellent for the price. There is a coconutty essence in the banh mi that is quite unique. Although Hoang Tofu's food tasted pretty authentic and decent by Vietnamese standards, I think it lacks restaurant quality. I think Hoang Tofu has more potential as a catering/ordering to-go business than a sit-in dining experience not only because there are very few tables for diners to eat in, but their service leaves much to be desired. The old folk running the front isn't a very patient guy and seem to not like answering "stupid" questions. Don't get me wrong, I think the food gets great reviews by the Vietnamese locals and there's a lot to try here, but I would not expect good service. A solid 3/5 stars.

Great quick and cheap eats! Really nice staff. Come get the 5, get one free. And grab some fresh sugar cane juice.

Ordered beef pho & 6 banh mi sandwiches Service was fast & absolutely delicious. Small store with such a kind gentleman behind the counter.

I ordered a #7 Bo Han Quoc (bulgog beef) and it was very good. They have 2 small tables bit it's not really a dine in place; recommended for a quick to go bite. Was only $5.

Best banh mi I've found in a long time. They have lots of options to order. I got combination and the grilled pork ones and they are DELICIOUS! I bought more after trying them. They make everything in house including the bread which I think really makes the banh mi. The grilled pork tastes really fresh and seasoning is just right and has a good butter. They put lots of meat and ingredients into their banh mi! They sell a variety of dishes here in addition to their tofu. I recommend their fried tofu! It's soft and creaThey have steamed rice cakes, Vietnamese hams, desserts and many more. Sugar can juice was so good! Owners were really nice and quick! This is a busy place and many people place orders before coming in.

    Bun Bo Hue

We had Bun Bo Hue and Banh Cuon here. The foods were ok. Bun Bo Hue has a lot of MSG. Banh Cuon was alright. Service sucks which I was expected. The guy who looks like an owner was mean. The table was dirty and sticky. Just expect to have zero ambiance, keep expectations low.

I don't know about other reviews but for me this is the best Banh Mi I have ever had in my life. I am new to the area and Yelp recommended this place for a Banh Mi. After I saw the menu, I was pretty sure this place is legit! Like hole in the wall kind of place. I am not a Banh Mi expert but this Vietnamese sandwich exceeds all of my expectations. I will come back for sure and order 10 of them. I can eat this everyday seriously!

Tasty banh mi! Although it's a minimal you-order-at-the counter-type of establishment, the banh mi is legit. At only $5, you get a sandwich full of your choice of protein, veggies like carrots and jalapenos, and mayo all in a fresh baguette that is baked in-house. If you're not good with spice, you may want to ask them to either reduce or eliminate the jalapenos since they're fresh, not pickled, and pack quite a kick. They also only take credit if your purchase totals $10 or more, so either plan to buy at least two sandwiches or have some cash on hand.

Hoang Tofu is a humble Vietnamese spot off Charlotte pike that makes tasty báhn mì, amongst other dishes like their bánh cuốn with crispy tofu. There is sit down dining but it is a small place, so takeout is a good option. The food is delicious, and by all observable I could make, very authentic. I take people on immigrant owned food tours for my business, Nashville Hidden Gems (insta: @nashvillehiddengems). This is a place I will definitely consider when doing tours of the Charlotte Pike area. The staff I interacted with spoke limited English, but there was nothing lost in communication. Tell them the number of what you want and they will happily take your order. For the exceptional value, you're not going to get michelin star service. They work hard to get take orders and get everything out quickly. Will be going again often.

Food is great, restaurant is take-away only and parking is a nightmare (small lot, no spaces, busy road). Legit banh mi.

After returning last night with my girlfriend and her four-year-old daughter, I can confidently say the experience was completely different. We were greeted and seated immediately, and the service was excellent from beginning to end. When my girlfriend mentioned that her drink was a little too sweet, our server quickly offered to replace it with something else. They also brought toys for her daughter, which was a thoughtful touch and made her feel welcome. The food was amazing. The wings were some of the best I've had, and the lo mein, bulgogi and fried rice were all excellent. Throughout our meal, several people who I assume were managers stopped by to make sure everything was going well. I was genuinely impressed by the level of service. There are fine-dining restaurants in Nashville where you don't receive this much attention or hospitality. Hawkers completely changed my opinion, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tofu was browned to perfection. The grilled broccoli and cauliflower were snappy and contrasted well with the rest of the ingredients. The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool. The place was packed, but the friendly staff were hustling to keep the line moving.
