The best cheat meal I've had in Tally in forever. I've been going to The Hobbit since the 80's, but not so much the last 10 years or so. I was in the neighborhood and absolutely craving wings, so I swung in the Hobbit on Capital Circle SE. It was mid afternoon so the dining room was empty but I was warmly greeted by the bartender in a jiffy. She told me about their specials but I was there for one thing, wings. I ordered ten, 5 buffalo hot and 5 garlic parmesan and fries. My meal came out quickly and hot. The wings were crispy and good size and were better than I remembered. I couldn't stop smiling and got a chuckle from the bartender when she heard me simply grunt in delight as I devoured all the wings. You confirmed my long standing belief that you have the best wings in Tallahassee. It may be another year before I cheat again but I'll be thinking about ya:) read more

We chose to come to the Hobbit after reading someone else's Yelp review about the fabulous chicken wings. I was in the mood for some really great wings and the Hobbit delivered! I got 15 wings (flats only) with three different flavors. Garnet and gold was my absolute favorite flavor and my better half agreed as he tried all of my wings as well. Garnet and gold is their traditional medium buffalo sauce blended with their Carolina gold (mustard based) and it was perfection!! Second flavor was the medium buffalo sauce and it was pretty good! Third flavor was the garlic parmesan, which we both didn't like at all. It was too buttery and made the wings soggy. Now with that being said, the other wings were cooked to perfection! They also make their own blue cheese dressing for dipping and it is amazing! He got the smash burger and thought it was excellent and well balanced with home style pickles. It was a double and was so juicy! I'm not a burger lover but it was good and the curly fries were great! Seasoned to perfection and dipping the in the blue cheese in the key! When you pull up to the Hobbit it looks very underwhelming. It's located in an old shopping center and looks kind of like a dive. Don't let that dissuade you from going as it is a typical sports bar with your Sunday football vibe. I didn't see one table that wasn't eating wings and on Sundays their wings are .99 each so it was packed! This is a fun super laid back place to get wings or a huge variety of food. The staff is generally very nice and the food is tasty. Is it a 3 star place? Yup. Why? Because if you get fried food to go, like wings, you should probably figure out the day the oil was changed. Leftovers are near inedible after the oil gets 1 day in the fridge... that's big sus. I order from Hobbit at least once a week but for the past two weeks they messed up the order. One week they did not put Tzatziki sauce on the gyro, nor did they include the extra tzatziki sauce that I ordered and was charged for so I took it back and asked that they correct it. Today I ordered wings and when I got back to the office and opened the container, they did not put the sauce on them, so I again took it back. I was very polite and waited for about 10 minutes before someone was available to explain my issue. Shortly after a manager came out and refunded my money and told me they are refusing service to me. I have never had this happen to me before, but I also never have to take items back for correction. I am totally blown away by this experience. It was their mistakes and they were mistakes that made my items non editable, yet they refuse service to me? I feel that when I spend $15 to $20 for lunch, I should be able to eat. We have been to Tallahassee often over the years and have always wanted to try The Hobbit American Grill East. Tonight was the night we finally did, and the food was delicious. I ordered 100 wings for pick up and all I got was beef and when I picked up the wings they were delivered in styrofoam boxes. I was looking for wings and football in Tallahassee on a Thursday night. I found it at the Hobbit. When I walked in to the Hobbit, I loved the decor of what a sports bar should look like. There was a lot of room and there were plenty of TVs and decorations. And what was even better, I walked in and discovered the Thursday night wing special for 89 cents. There were several wing flavors to try. Usually I look for a BBQ flavor, then flavors I cannot get anywhere else. After some help from the waitress, I decided on Garnet and Gold, Fiesta Ranch, and Spicy Caribbean. First of all, the Garnet and Gold was the best out of the three sauces, which is sad to say because of the Florida State inspiration behind it. Roll Tide! The Garnet and Gold was the Carolina Mustard BBQ sauce mixed with the mild or medium buffalo sauce. The Fiesta Ranch was the next best as it had a Ranch seasoning to it with a medium buffalo sauce. The Spicy Caribbean was the worst. I have been to other places and it was similar to a Honey-Garlic but these sauce was very weak and not flavorful. My buddy that was with me said we had to get the cheese curds. Hands down...these were the best cheese curds I've ever had. They were easy to chew and had some kind of special seasoning to them. The sauce that came with it too added to the deliciousness of these cheese curds. Sweet tea was refreshingly sweet! My latest visit to Hobbit's was pretty good. I ordered two orders of 10 wings and two sides of fries. I ordered to go and they said it would take 15-20 minutes. It took closer to 30, but this was on a weekend night. I will say the team member that took my order and the one that brought it were both very courteous. Waitress charged for dressings that were not ordered, and she charged me a dollar for the hot sauce on my Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Frankly, I should turn in my TLH / FSU Alum card given this oversight - but I'm gonna let me off with a warning this time... My first (of hundreds) visit to the Hobbit was back in 1988, to the original restaurant (still on Pensacola). The Hobbit is where I go for televised (away) games. I'll take it over any other sports bar in town. The wings are better than those of the corp-wing places in town. I appreciate those other places, but The Hobbit is TLH-based, and that always trumps national/regional chains (to me). If you're an out-of-towner looking for an awesome local sports bar that serves up great wings (and other bar food) look no further. Hobbit is it.
