First impression is very impprtant. and my first impression of this store is not very good. Their customer service sucks. I went here yesterday for the first time to look for stuff I need to make my daughter's costume. I asked a lady who worked in the fabric department nicely if they had a certain fabric in a different color. She was very rude to me. She turned her back towards me and proceeded to walk the other way while I was still talking to her. She just pointed behind her towards the stuff I asked her for WHILE she was walking the opposite way away from me. It's not like it was busy, I was the only one in the department. Another lady I asked for help wasn't very helpful either. I asked an older asian lady also working at the fabric department for fabric dye and all she did was point and say "it's over there on the third aisle". Little did I know that "over there" meant all the way on the other side of the store. I was walking up and down the aisle looking for the d**n fabric dye. So when I finally got what I needed, I headed for the cashier. She greeted me with a frown and just bad vibes, not even a hello. I left the store in just a bad mood. Good thing I checked my items before I left the parking lot because the cashier forgot to put an item in the bag. NEVER gonna go in here again unless I ABLSOLUTELY have to. Walked in the other day not expecting much and was very pleasantly surprised! Had a wide selection of different arts and crafts as well as supplies. Prices were much more reasonable than joannes or michaels. For a place that just opened up, it's my new stop for anything drawing or sketching related. read more

Ask about their return policy or about them price matching their own sales if you are unfortunate to buy the day before their ads post. Believe it or not they don't scan or use sku's. They look at the surveillance tapes to see what you bought. But I purchased in Modesto so how will they do that. They will call the Modesto store and have them view their tapes to see what I bought. But I have my receipt. We don't use item numbers, we just type in the prices so we don't actually know what you purchased. Are you kidding me? I'm not going back. read more

My husband and I came into the framing department with a very last-minute request. We needed a photograph of my mom matted and in a frame for her funeral that day. Mr. Reyes graciously helped us. He did a fast, yet thoughtful job matching the photo to the available mats. He also helped us find a frame. The results were outstanding. Mr. Reyes is a valuable employee! read more

I loved shopping here until today. I went in to buy some stuff for my kitchen, but ended up with a cart full of Christmas stuff instead. Wreath, ornaments, bows etc... On their ad both in store and on my app, said all Christmas decor was 40% off excluding lights. I had all Christmas decor and my cashier said only the wreath decor was on sale? So I paid for what was on sale and walked out. Went back in after looking at my app and the ad in store, was ignored by 2 employees, and finally found one, who of course didn't know how to answer my question. After finding another employee who did know, she asked who rang me up. I told her and she replied "he should know, that's his department!" Ok. And that helps me how? So I get back in line and buy everything that "wasn't on sale". That associate was polite and helpful. After checking out for the second time, looked at my first receipt and was charged full price for my "craft glass" which was advertised at 50% off. So I got back in line for the third time and just ended up returning them as I got attitude from the store manager. How are you going to tell me I'm wrong when I am reading verbatim from your ad?!? Needless to say, I think I'll be shopping at joanns from now on. read more

I visited the store a week and a half ago when scrapbooking was 50% off. I had made many trips during the week to buy the same paper that I wanted during this last visit. When I went then cashier, Joe S, said that this certain paper was not on sale, I said ok, never mind on getting it. As I thought about it and looked at my previous receipts I noticed every other time I got it 50 off, plus I thought there was a sign up. I went back later that night with my mom, as it was the last day of the sale. When the paper did not ring up on sale I mentioned to him that there were signs up right in front of it. His assistant manager said to go ahead and give it to me at that price. When she walked away this cashier decided to grow some balls and tell me that next time I NEED to read the sign and I NEED to make sure I get the right paper. He told me that they would override the price today but next time I NEED to read it correctly. I then told him I don't need to do anything, they need to sign the aisle right then, that there are TWO signs directly in front of the paper I was buying. He raised his hand to me to signal to be quiet and told me to have a nice day. He did this while a manager was at the other register and never once stepped in as my mom stood there, along with about 10 other customers who witnessed what happened.This was not over. I went back took pictures and contacted customer service. I informed them that I was a manager at Joanns, and if I ever heard one of my employees talking to a customer the way he talked to me, it would not be allowed! They informed me they would take care of it and I thought it would be fine. I returned yesterday to buy something that was on sale, and after I walked in two minutes later so did my mom. This same employee was working and in front of my mom got on the phone to inform the manager "the lady who called corporate and doesn't like paper 50 percent off is here." Little did he know he did this in front of MY MOM! So I left and now an waiting on a response from corporate. This employee is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and needs some lessons on how to treat customers, and needs better customer service skills! I am in hopes that they take care of the way their employees treat their customers. And I will take my business somewhere else or to a different location. read more
