Don't let the outside appearance fool you...I was presently surprised by this little Italian spot. The food was affordable and delicious! My only complaint is I had to wait a bit to order my food and the place wasn't busy! One of the patrons who knew the owner had to get him from the back of the kitchen to take my order. SO GOOD, SO COZY, SO AFFORDABLE I walked into the restaurant after some time ordering on DD. The place is so charming! It gives very mom and pop restaurant. I ordered the Primavera which consisted of fettuccine noodles with a creamy red sauce tossed with fresh veggies, peppers and olives. The sauce was flavorful and light and the veggies were not mushy. Got two slices of pizza here and I wish we liked this place a bit better! The pizza by the slice is cheese pizza that's already been made before, topped with a topping of your choice and then a tiny sprinkle of cheese. Pros is that the slices are huge, and the price wasn't too bad! But the bread was a little tough given the pizza was just reheated. Maybe pasta is the winner here though? Seems like most of the reviews here rave mostly about the pastas so we might come back since it's so close. If you're going for the pizza, I'd just go with the whole pizzas. I think those are made fresh and might be better! read more

I really loved the customer service! My boyfriend accidentally spilled a drink and it was cleaned quickly and I could smell bleach so they cleaned and sanitized. The food is amazing; it was hot delightful and also I just loved the chicken. When you pull a piece of the bread away it's layered and fluffy. I had their chicken Alfredo and it was ABSOLUTELY the best I have ever eaten!! The serving size was more than adequate for the price also. I would highly recommend this place. Very odd experience here. We had been on a pasta/tiramisu kick and were trying to give our business to smaller, family owned places during the pandemic. The owner actually got angry at us for purchasing Tiramisu from him. We were going out of our way to spend more and buy food we didn't enjoy as much only to be complained about to our face. Johnny Carino's family meals are half off all week- the food is much better and is actually cheaper. The tiramisu is double the size at Carino's (and double the price to be fair, but half off in a family pack) and much better. I am sorry ItaliaExpress... we really tried. After reading other reviews, I can see that this is a trend. The owner seems to be rude to returning customers on a pretty regular basis. You are in the wrong industry if you can't treat people that are your source of income with a little bit of curtesy. I know I am definitely not going to beg someone to take my money for food I don't really enjoy very much. read more

I ordered a small pizza it was just ok. I asked for Parmesan and received a few pinches of Parmesan in a small container. I then asked for marinara sauce and was told it cost $1 and "I can't give you everything for free". Um, ok...... So, I paid for the sauce and received a very small container of sauce. I really wanted to like this place. I ordered online on came into to pick up my food. The service was very friendly and nice. I asked the cashier what their story was and he told me that this is a family business that has been going on for years. It started as his uncle's restaurant and then him and his dad took over about 9 years ago. I ordered some pasta and a slice of pepperoni pizza. The pizza is NY style pizza and it would pass for most NY pizza carts/stands but like NY pizza in general (IMO) it's ok, but if NY pizza is your thing you should ccome try it. The pizza is sold both by the slice and as a full pie. So you could come in and just try a slice. The pasta itself wasn't bad but it wasn't great. It just didn't the kick or flavors and was pretty bland. Would I eat it again? The pasta probably not but I could see myself coming and grabbing a slice of pizza. read more

We've been eating at Italia Express for many years. I am from the east coast and this is TRUE Neapolitan style pizza. Their calzones are TRUE NY style, with RICOTTA cheese as they should be!!! Their pasta dishes are TRUE homemade pasta dishes. I'm sure that the bad reviews on here are from people who are born and raised in OKC and have never been away from OK. For those people I say, "Go back to Mazzios for your "calzone ring". Whatever TF that is, and dip it in ranch . You don't know what fresh Italian food tastes like. If you think their sauce tastes "watery", it's because they make their sauces from scratch, not Prego out of a jar with a bunch of paste to make it thick. You want Italia Express sauce thicker, add some fresh grated Parmesan cheese that they offer. This place is a true gem to the city. I saw a post that said they were under new owners last year. I'm not sure about that because it's still the same people working there since day 1 but I will ask tomorrow because now I want a 16" sausage pizza and a pepperoni and sausage calzone. I was craving some fettuccini Alfredo from scratch and most restaurants had already closed. I decided to try out italia express and it blew my expectations away. The food was nice and HOT. Everything tasted homemade from scratch taste. I tried the shrimp fettuccine and stuffed mushrooms. The sauce of each were delicious. I added some of the mushroom sauce to my Alfredo, the flavors were explosive! I am not a big garlic bread fan but after trying the complimentary bread, I finished every bite. The bread had lots of flavors, the bread texture was light and fluffy. WAY better than olive garden breadsticks for sure. I definitely recommend this place. I will be back to try more! read more

Their pizzas are huge and NY style! My in laws ordered two pizzas and breadsticks it was enough to last the four of us two meals!! Their delivery time is on point and the flavor is delightful. If you're a garlic love you'll enjoy this place. While their delivery time isn't as quick as papa John's or closer places i feel as if the quality here is more authentic. The marinara sauce is so good, I could have licked the plate! (Next time take out so i can) Had the cannelloni which was fresh, tender, and amazing. Husband had the tortellini ala pana at the recommendation of a friend. He definitely recommended perfectly. Even got one to take home to daughter cause otherwise she might not believe us how good it was. The bread was light and fluffy on the inside and buttery crusty on the outside. perfect! I have been going here for years, probably two-three times per month, I always order the same thing! I stopped in one night after work, I was obviously upset as I had been aggressively crying and I was on the phone when I went in to pick up my to go order. I was not rude, but I was quiet and again, visibly not having a great time. I picked up my food and tipped the guy that gave me my food, then went home. When I got home I opened my container of pasta to find no sauce, noodles with chicken that were stuffed into a container too small so they were stuck together. My fiancé called to ask if we could bring it back and have it remade, the owners son told him no because I was "in a bad mood when I picked it up" my fiancé asked what that had to do with my food being incorrect, the owner indicated that although he knew who we were he would not give us a refund or remake my food. My fiancé let him know that we didn't feel this was necessary, we have been supported their business for a long time, we just had a problem this time. The owner told my fiancé he didn't care if we never came back and he lost our business, he wouldn't do anything about my incorrect food. Like the owner told us, we will not be returning and I am disappointed.. italia is only alright food but it is reliable, family owned and close. I am sad they treated me this way and will not be returning. I hope they do not treat their other regulars this way. read more
