Headline is food was decent so if you have the time to wait for it......then try it out. We waited 45 min for eggs and a pancake. Our service was poor, and the explanation we got from Suzi (mgr) was deflecting away from the server not being transparent from the start. "Two large groups were ahead of you and they got theirs made first. If you want faster meals you have to order the special on a Sunday because it's prepared and sitting on the steam table". Maybe there are different cooks that serve the special? If you are in a hurry you have to order the special because that comes out before off the menu orders as we found out as a party of 7 that ordered 15 min after us received theirs 10 min before our 2 breakfast orders arrived. Lesson to HHD- train transparency and humility to your servers. Give full disclosure to your table that you work for tips with the expectations of their orders. Be keenly aware at any time how long your tables will be waiting for food. "Sorry for the wait, it will be __min as the kitchen is backed up". Or better yet actually show up and be visible so we can ask you directly instead of asking the hostess. She then ignored us maybe because we talked to the mgr? Come back and apologize for miscommunication- no blame, just try and save the visit. It wasn't about you, but ignoring us made it about you. Mgr took ownership and apologized- much respect. Oh yeah, we asked three times in the span of 5 min for the check. Didn't get it so we walked up to the register ourselves where it was sitting- so she either doubled down on ignoring us or that is how this place does it; either way we felt like the experience was not worth the visit again. read more

Decided to go here while we were visiting the hocking hills area, the food was good and the price wasn't bad either, the reason I can't give it 5 stars though is because the waitresses don't seem like they pay too much attention. We ended up sitting at the table waiting for our waitress with the check who had disappeared for 20+ minutes. read more

Good location, right off the highway yet quiet. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious (Roast Beef sandwich is a must). They also take the pandemic seriously, offering masks and hand sanitizer right at the door. The areas of the restaurant (including bathrooms!) were also very clean and well kept. We ordered steak and eggs. It wasnt The best but it wasn't the worst. A sign said they are short staffed and sorry for any long wait times but we didn't have a long wait. Our waitress was very nice. the Water tasted like it sat in a garden house for too long and one of the other waitresses let off the biggest fart right infront of our table while we were eating. it definitely gave us something to laugh about. read more

It was a wonderful surprise to find first rate espresso and delicious breakfast at this unassuming restaurant. Don't let the warehouse in the parking lot fool you. This is one of the best restaurants in the area. The veggie omelette with home fries is delicious. read more

What a treat! The diner is gorgeous in every room- colorful and nicely decorated. We happened to be here in the after Thanksgiving/ Christmas season, so there were cute holiday decorations! Everything was clean with good, friendly service! Our waitress was so accommodating - getting me pickle juice and pickles for my leg cramps( yes, it works. Must be the vinegar) oh and the food was good too. Ordered the breakfast bowl. I believe they use some local farms in their business which is always good! read more

This place was awesome! We happened to see it while we were headed out to dinner the night before, and we decided to check them out the next day for breakfast. We were really impressed. Our server was Sasha, and she is exactly the type of server a place relying on tourist money needs. She is friendly, funny and prompt and was willing to make recommendations. They even have cappuccino, which we really enjoyed. My husband got steak and eggs on one of our visits (yep, it was so good that we went back the next day), and we were shocked to see how much better their breakfast steak was than the ribeye at a nearby "world famous" steakhouse. We will be certain to make this our daily breakfast visit when we are in Hocking. read more

Awkwardly walked around the front area for a while before being acknowledged and then the hostess couldn't figure out where to seat my party of 2 because there were only party or 6 tables left. It wasn't terribly busy and nearly all the other tables already received their food and waiting 35 minutes for my order was too long. The food was bland and didn't warrant the long wait. Came with my family and had the worst costumer service I have ever experienced. We had a large group and made reservations in advance. It took 2 1/2 hours to get our food and the waitress when questioned about when food would arrive she got very nasty and said that it wasn't her fault so don't get mad at her. After waiting so long for our food one member had to leave prior to it arriving, she was charged for her cup of coffee after she walked out hungry and wasted two hours of her day! The waitress then went on to say to her that now she won't get any "fing" tip. We asked for the manager and got the owner who then went on to say she was simply sorry for our troubles but that's all she could offer. The food was a disappointment and they refused to accept a discount coupon from restaurant.com. that they apparently had preapproved. When I paid for the meal I presented the certificate and was informed that they do not accept them because it wasn't what they bargained for. I would have expected the business to at least offer a minimum discount to compensate for the cost of the coupon. First impressions can make or break a restaurant and when your last thoughts as you're exiting the place is "McDonalds would have been a treat" that can't be a good thing. Tried again yesterday to give them a chance. The service was better but not by much still couldn't get a refill during the meal but she was friendly. The food was a little better, the eggs over medium came out with the whites not cooked all the way. So Wednesday the food was over cooked and yesterday was under cooked. I tried to give them another chance because everyone has bad days but after yesterday with the eggs and I have to say it the pancakes tasted like the frozen kind I tried for the kids. In sorry to say but this establishment has been a disappointment on 2 different occasions. Yes it was better this time but only marginally and only because the waitress was friendly this time but not friendly enough to come to the table to see how everything was going. My girlfriend did tell me that the bathroom was clean this time but still got a dirty butter knife. Service was, friendly, fast. Place was clean. Food was not good. Texas Tenderloin tasted like fish & stale grease. Fries tasted like fish & stale grease.
