We had to have our big move on a particular date, and we had to choose a different mover because the schedule didn't work out with HodgePodge on the date. The different mover came and did the job, but everything did not fit in their truck because of my poor estimation. Along with leftover boxes, we had to haul our oven/range from a second-floor kitchen of a south suburban townhouse to a basement of a west suburban townhouse. We originally contemplated to move everything ourselves with a U-Haul van and an appliance dolly, but we are REALLY glad we went ahead and scouted HodgePodge for their service! Even with rather short notice, they came through and took care of the job quickly and professionally. I had the pleasure of speaking with Miro, the owner, and he is VERY courteous and professional. Pam quickly took care of the paperwork, and every interaction with them was pleasant. The best of all, at least to me, is that they accept payments via Zelle so that I didn't have to have the cash ready. From the very moment I asked for a quote up to receiving the final bill, Miro and his crew were beyond professional and courteous! Miro was sure to over communicate - greatly appreciated!! Starting time was accurate. They worked hard together but in a way that seemed effortless (kudos!) Attention was brought to items that may not have been in perfect condition (thank you! HodgePodge was a great company to choose for all of our moving needs! We were extremely happy with the services they provided me and my husband during our move. My husband researched many options and found them to be well reviewed and competitively priced. They booked up the weekend we needed to move but were able to accommodate us even though it was a holiday, on that very Monday, Memorial Day. We were also VERY pleasantly surprised to find out they also take any unwanted garbage/furniture and donate it. My husband and I had an old fireplace, dressers, table, etc, that our village would have charged us to dispose of but they took it off of our hands free of charge! (It also took the burden of moving it ourselves off our hands!) We had the pleasure of working with Steve, Erik, Pat, and Odell. All of them were very friendly and very diligent workers. I have moved every year for the last four years, all without the use of movers and I really wish I would've found HodgePodge earlier! This was my first experience with movers and it was nothing short of awesome! Coordinating with Miro was a breeze (his response times are great!!) and he gave me ease of mind of moving during these uncertain times. The team took great care of all my belongings, making sure to wrap everything to protect it from point A to point B. They were fast and efficient, and I was moved into my new apartment in under 2 hours! They were very respectful and cautious of my space and made sure to wear masks and gloves before interacting with me, but made sure to keep a 6ft distance when speaking to me (which I GREATLY appreciated). HodgePodge could not have been a better choice for my move. I needed to move a 3 bedroom apartment (3rd floor walk-up) into a 1 bedroom with my girlfriend. There was no way to fit all of my stuff into my new place, so I talked to Miro and he told me anything we did not want would be donated to charity, which was a great solution for so many reasons! Steve and Darrin showed up on time, were both very nice and personable, and worked fast and efficiently with a good attitude (even in the rain). They fit everything being donated and moved in the truck safely with no damage done anywhere, including two heavy disassembled couches. They even helped me put the couches back together once everything was moved into the new apartment. We moved from Wicker Park to Lakeview East in under 4 hours, and it could not have been a better experience. They are the best in town! It is rare to come by such great customer service, therefore, compelling me to write this review. I needed several items removed and/or stored ASAP and Miro quickly responded with a very reasonable quote. They were even able to fit me in the next day! When they arrived, Steve and Erik were very professional and efficient. They hauled away all my junk, packaged the rest, and put it in storage. They were also very careful when moving things so as not to damage the floor and walls. (As a perfectionist, I was impressed with this.) I can now access all my stored items online with pictures of each item. With my busy schedule, it is so convenient to request any item I need at any time and knowing they will deliver it. I used the "request a quote" feature here on Yelp and Miro was the first to respond! He called and asked questions to ensure he could provide an accurate quote, which we found reasonable. We were pleased that they could schedule our move on our desired day. On moving day, the crew (Eric, Odell, Steve) showed up on time and got right to work moving a number of big pieces from our second floor apartment. I was personally grateful that they were willing to make two trips, given that our new home was so close to the apartment. They took great care to ensure our items arrived without scratches or damage. They completed the move in the estimated time with no problems and were incredibly friendly! These guys are amazing! We had to move mom into a memory care unit and she had accumulated decades of stuff. We gave some away, sold some, donated same, and still had lots left over. HodgePodge cleaned up big-time. The guys were on time, courteous and incredibly resourceful. I highly recommend HodgePodge, especially for big jobs. They just hauled 2000 cubic feet for my mom after dad died. Great value for the money. Much larger box trucks in addition to the typical dump truck really helped. John, Danny, Kyle, Dante, and Quiz are a strong team -- both professional and courteous. Miro, customer service lead, makes sure -- before and after -- that the experience is great. Pam is excellent at communication making sure the process runs smoothly. I was so pleased with their work that I had John bid two more jobs before he left. My mom also really liked the fact that they try to donate and recycle what they can to minimize landfill. Dante, Ismail, and Nick were amazing! Very kind, professional, efficient, and absolutely hard working gentlemen. They were so kind and patient and this was my first big move so I unfortunately underestimated the size of it, but they were understanding and made it work! I also labeled all my boxes for what rooms they go into because they would've been way too heavy and time consuming to move to the right room - and they took the time to place them for me. They wrapped everything that was fragile and also took apart things that needed to be taken apart. They also put the screws back in things if they were loose and fell out. I had a great experience with Hodge Podge moving company. I worked with Miro to set up everything I needed to have moved to my new apartment. I had some items that I wanted to get rid of and they were also able to take those items for me. I was unsure of exact amounts of boxes and which items I would and would not be taking, but Miro was flexible and kept in touch with me. He let me up my amount of movers from 3 men and 1 truck to 4 men and two trucks to quickly remove the unwanted items in one and the move in the other. The whole process was seamless and I was even able to pay both my deposit and remaining balance on Venmo. The movers that came were very nice and they quickly and carefully moved my items. Used several other movers before and just two days prior using HodgePodge I hired a mover to move a whole household units from heavy furniture to delicate items comparing them to Hodgepodge reliability, communication and dependability is far more better experienced and the convenient of doing things done neatly and exceptional most of all very professional on schedule and courteous. They arrived on time and worked incredibly hard throughout the whole process. I wish there was a way to give 10 stars instead of just 5. I cannot speak highly enough about this company. I called them at 1 p.m., needing a move as soon as possible, and received a call back by 4:30 p.m. saying they were able to schedule me for the following morning. Kyle and Dante were awesome. They had everything loaded up from a basement and were on their way within 45 minutes. After a 40 minute drive, they had everything unloaded in less than 30 minutes. Couldn't ask for more professional and efficient movers. Miro even personally called to see how I felt everything went and to make sure I was completely satisfied. Hodge Podge helped us move from our apartment in Jefferson Park in Chicago to a house in the Northwestern suburbs. They packed up our apartment quickly, excellently wrapping fragile items with blankets, bubble wrap and clear wrap, and took care of everything from beginning to end. Except for a broken small glass shelf and a scratch on the wall of the staircase, everything went well. The guys even helped out on moving a special delivery (paddleboat!) we weren't expecting at the new house from the driveway to the backyard. Friendly crew, good service. Three moving professionals met my fiancé and I at our apartment in the Gold Coast with the beautiful green moving truck and expertly wrapped each item in moving blankets and loaded it all into the truck. The process was efficient and smooth. The unloading process once we arrived at our new condo in Wicker Park was just as easy, despite the many boxes which we probably made a little too heavy.
