I have never had such terrible service. Hoffmann bought Central Alarm in Fresno a few years ago. I had been a Central Alarm customer for 15 years. After they took over my account, I had a burglary in my home. They didn't call the police for two hours. They said they had. The police said they had not. They finally called the police two hours after the initial alarm. I called them constantly during that two hours. They were not following up. They had no idea what was going on. Finally, the police arrived and my house had been completely ransacked. Five Thousand dollars of damage. I called them with my concern, and quoted what the police told me. I repeatedly called managers, the CEO, no one returned my calls. I wrote emails. No response. Finally when someone talked to me, I told them I had thrown them out the day after the crime, and told them that. They said, "you have to write us a letter or we keep billing you". They kept billing me and turned me over to collections. They took no responsibility for their part in this mess. Don't use these people. They don't care about their customer, and they are happy to let criminals run free in your house, refuse to return your calls and then turn you over to collections. I find it interesting that Mr. Hoffman, who steadfastly refused to return my numerous calls to deal with this issue, has the time to call me a liar on Yelp. Blanche Jorge made it seem like a burden to do her job and provide us with an estimate in Chowchilla. She wasn't informative or helpful when we encountered issues either. For example, we were told on the phone that Hoffman would be able to install a security system WITHOUT monthly monitoring - however Blanche told us that is not the case and blamed us for "not being specific enough" on the phone. She then said that theres only two types of people in Chowchilla "prison guards and criminals". How insulting is that!? Blanche made a horrid first impression on us. We'll take our business elsewhere, maybe to someone who is friendly and good at their job. read more

We have been with Hoffman security since 2005. We have Never been contacted for an upgrade. As my mother is in her late 70's we decided to look into a few camera options and life alert type system. I called Hoffman security and their employee Blanche Jorge assured me this was possible. However, when they came out to do the work, they said moms system wasn't sufficient and needed an upgraded system . The technician that came out wasn't able to install the system that day. So I scheduled a future meeting. I always get several estimates when I know I'm going to be investing in a big household item especially since my mom is on a fixed income. So. I. Did. Just. That. We went ahead and went with a competitor. I received a call from Hoffman security saying the system was offline . I told them that this was due to us getting a new system through a competitor. I text Blanche to call me and she did. She was real nice for the first two seconds then went to another level . She said and I quote," You went with a Chinese company." I was dumbfounded, shocked etc. and I replied What in the hell does this have to do with anything. I said how do you know that I or my husband are Chinese? To you Mr. Hoffman, how is this ok? Are you that desperate for clients that YOUR employee had to take it to a level of racism and putting down a competitor regardless of where it's made? At one time the price at Hoffman's office was very close to Amazon so this time I did not even check, until after I purchased batteries and paid $10.00 per 3.6v battery, same thing on Amazon is 4 for $13.49. We have been with Hoffman for many years and have never had a problem. We monitor our home, my daughter's home and our rental storage garage. Not super cheap but well worth knowing their response time if the alarm goes off is immediate. We have gotten to know the girls and Alex, and a few of the field guys, all professional and caring. They provide fire and alarm monitoring service for our preschools and every month, we do fire drills and they call to make sure we are just testing our system, which let's us know they are monitoring the system what a peace of mind. read more

I must say for not having an alarm before I'm not sure the experience could have gotten any better. I was looking for an alarm so I called up Hoffman Security. A wonderful gentleman name Mark came out and talked about what I did and didn't need. He wasn't pushy or wasn't condescending and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. He was polite and straight to the point, we signed the contract that day and within a couple days I had a installer at my house. He was on time and very professional. The install didn't take nearly as long as I expected, once he was done he gave me an introduction on how to use it and he was very knowledgeable in the random questions I had asked. ive had hoffman for 3 years . my alarm stop working , stopped communicating with dispatch and they did not tell me. when i called in to do a test , they said they tried to call me 3 months ago and i never answered . seriously , so i have been exposed for 3 months , how about a letter or sending someone over to see if i was still alive. call the cops dammit. they said that the cell towers in livingston were upgraded from 3g to 4g thats why my unit stopped sending signals. so they charged me $120 to replace the unit . baloney ! stay away from these thugs, they dont care about you , they just want your money. i could have been robbed because their stupid system got outdated and they chose not to let me know. how dare you ....... read more

I was out of town when I got a call from Hoffman saying that my motion sensor was detecting something. A friend's husband went to my house to check on it after they had supposedly dispatched one of their security experts to go check to see if the house had been broken into. My friend waited about 15-20 minutes but their guy never showed up. He didn't see any sign of a break in so I called them and told them that their guy never showed and not to bother any longer. When I got back, I hired Matson and had a new system installed. Even when the Hoffman system was disconnected, they didn't respond. I then sent them a cancellation notice. They responded by billing me for the security man that was dispatched but never showed up. read more
