We just LOVE Holcomb Hollow. So many exceptional vegan and gluten free desserts. We have a number of people in our family with food allergies, including a kid with a very complex list. Holcomb Hollow has consistently had treats that he can safely eat and enjoy. They have since provided him with his first ever brownie, pumpkin pie, and donut. As a food allergy mom, nothing beats having your kid feel "normal" and have a safe alternative at an event, party, etc. we've really appreciated the range of options HH offers, and some of their specialty items that they over over different holidays. The ladies are always kind to look up the ingredient list for me when I pick up from the bakery to confirm that items are safe. There are MANY local places that offer HH treats, and we've enjoyed seeking them out whenever we can. read more

To the person who left the one star review, That's pretty shaming to do when it's obvious they are a wholesale business and do special orders with no storefront. THAT BEING SAID...I love visiting whenever I'm in from out of town! I'm from Mundelein and the only disappointment is I'm not closer to you guys! So...I've never been to this actual location, but so many local coffee shops carry their baked goods that I feel confident in rating their products. I LOVE their lemon cookie and Ube muffin. The lemon bar is also fantastic. To be quite honest, nothing I've had from them has been bad. Their gf treats are consistently the best. And EVERYTHING is GF and DF, so we never have to worry about cross contamination. They do fun popups, can be found often at the farmers market, but mostly we buy their stuff at Area Coffee in Mundelein - another local gem. read more

We've supported this business over the last couple of years placing big orders for their events & supporting them at the Mundelein Farmers Market. I'm disappointed to say this because there aren't a ton of gluten-free, vegan options in the suburbs for baked goods, but I can no longer support this business. The owner has a bad attitude. Recently a family member came in to pick up an order (it's a very unorganized, unsystematic store front, with tons of orders just sitting randomly on shelves) and the owner sitting at the table made fun of her for not finding it right away and said, "we could spend more time making a better method for pick up or we could spend the time making the treats". The owner wasn't willing to take a second to help a customer find their order. Then one of the items we purchased was completed raw inside. Instead of being apologetic about it, the owner doubled down and was guilting customers who requested refunds because they are a small business. I would've expected her to take accountability for making a product that is inedible. I unfortunately will not be supporting this business any longer. read more

Being gluten free and dairy free has made life challenging, but not since finding Holcomb Hollow! I've been a loyal customer since finding them at Green Joe's in Schaumburg. I'v also bought them at Pure Juice Cafe in Arlington Heights. With my wacky commute, I've also been able to find them at Brewpoint Coffee in Elmhurst as well as Conscious Cup in Palatine. We love their muffins, cookies, and donuts so so much. They are tasty and never give us a problem with our special dietary restrictions. They also are at the Mundelein Farmer's Market and offer seasonal special sales from their wholesale baking location in Mundelein. I follow them on Instagram where they advertise their latest products or new flavors. I also keep tabs on which businesses stock them on their IG page because it feels like the list keeps growing! IG is where they announce their random seasonal specials too. Devoted fan right here! read more

I remember meeting a guy named Dakota at the Libertyville farmers market probably about five or six years ago now and he introduced me to Holcomb Hollow! At that point in time I had only tried their jam. Which are delicious by the way! And over the years I have watched the business grow into muffins and cupcakes and brownie bars, I am so thrilled every time I see a product from Holcomb Hollow in one of my favorite stores!! I love being able to find gluten-free and/or vegan treats!! I've had a few different muffins now- consistently my favourites have been the zucchini chocolate and the banana cinnamon! Both FABULOUS! I am so happy that business has grown to the capacity that it has, and I only wish them more success in the future! Holcomb hollow makes delicious sweets with a conscious mind and heart. This place has THE BEST gluten free baked goods!!! I have bought desserts from here for parties and EVERYONE loved them (even the few stubborn people that are anti-gluten free and swear they won't eat anything gluten free because it's gross ) My daughter and a few family members are gluten free and are always so happy when we have desserts from here. Im not a vegan at all, i just love food more than the average person. I first tried their black bean brownies after buying them at a market thing at chicago botanic gardens, the black bean brownies were soo good. I tried some raspberry green tea muffin at vegan festival and they were also awesome. My son was surprised it didn't have milk or eggs in it. I recently tried their chickpea blondie and that was so good. I did buy extra black bean brownies and let them sit in a Ziploc bag on my counter they molded in like 2 days. Store your extras in the fridge and they last longer. I am hoping to make it to one of their stores that sells their muffins. I have not tried their jams yet. read more

I try to stock up whenever I can... Especially their chickpea blondies which I haven't seen in a while. And their biscotti (cinnamon pecan & chai are my favorite flavors)... I have no idea how Holcomb Hollow is able to come up with products that are Vegan/Gluten Free yet are delicious and have a wonderful texture. It's not an easy thing to do! I try to stick with Gluten Free products but can not stand the dry texture of what is available out there! Thank God I found Holcomb Hollow their Muffins and baked goods are amazing.
