I got the hangover bowl and a cold brew. It is over medium eggs, over a hash I added jalepenos and tomatoes. Very flavorful.

Expensive, but good! I got the hangover bowl and cold brew. Cold brew tasted like an iced coffee but it was still ok. Four stars because it is pricey. However it was good so I still recommend.

My friend and I stopped by to get some grab and go breakfast before taking the train into Chicago. I have got to say the classic egg sandwich and the classic in a bowl egg breakfast was delicious and probably some of the best egg related breakfast I've ever had. The service was extremely quick and friendly and there is a lot of tables to sit inside and on the back patio of the location. Their menu is expansive as well with lots of other breakfast bowls and egg sandwich options I would want to try. If I'm ever back in libertyville I am definitely returning.

Well, this place was a PLEASANT SURPRISE! Love the tongue in cheek sign out front and the cheerful and bold decor inside. Service was exceptional. Got to sample some fresh squeezed juices when placing my order and OMG. TO DIE FOR. Ordered the simple bowl. Just scrambled eggs over cubed potatoes, with cheddar and avocado. Not sure it can get any better. You can tell the eggs are local and fresh! Coffee was good too. Glad I found this place and can't wait to go back! A+

A little more shell and raw whites than I like in my egg

Waking up with a hankering for french toast and eggs, I perused my handy dandy Uber Eats app and stumbled upon The Wicked Egg. The price point and options were exactly what I was looking for and it was close enough that I'd be eating by the time I finished up some quick work. I ordered the french toast sans powdered sugar, an over easy egg, and truffle salt potatoes. The food arrived quickly and was still warm, but as I started opening items I had a little concern with the potatoes being incredibly overcooked. I tried a potato and they tasted exactly how they looked... burnt. Mind you, this was my first time meeting TWE. But I figured I could save it by masking the burnt flavor with some cheese and sautéd onions so I put it in the oven to hold heat at a low temperature to avoid burning them further but keep everything warm. Welp, the cheese and onions couldn't mask the flavor of burnt so I just ate the sautéd onions with the egg. But as I ate the egg I found it was undercooked with quite a bit of white still raw. I should probably be more concerned about the whites being undercooked, but I continued to eat the egg regardless until I crunched into shell. That was enough of that. On the positive side, the french toast was exactly what I was looking for and cooked to the perfect temperature. It is a smaller portion, but that's exactly what I wanted. I wouldn't be opposed to the french toast again, but given the egg and potato debacles, I'm not really keen on eating there again. Part of me wants to give grace because mistakes happen because I could forgive the egg, but there is no way that anyone packaged those potatoes and said, "Ah, yes, perfect. Burnt, just like our customers like them." The lack of care of what they send out of the kitchen doesn't give me any confidence in the quality or safety of food handling so for me TWE is a no.

Stopped into Wicked Egg for a Saturday fast-casual breakfast treat. This shop is located in the heart of downtown Libertyville. The inside has a cheeky design featuring every type of colorful egg decor one can while still being tasteful. The menu offers a variety of egg inspired brunch items from sandwiches to potato bowls, salads, sandwiches, and classic items. My fiancé and I each got a sandwich. I got the Keep It Simple and added avocado. This standard comes on a brioche bun with scrambled egg, cheddar cheese, and their signature sauce. There was plenty of egg to go around but I wished there was more of their signature sauce in it to add more flavor. My fiancé got The Classic which came with an over medium egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, sauce, also on brioche bun. His had a ton of bacon and way less egg to pair with it. He also tried their Sriracha sauce which added a nice heat. Overall, everything here is made to order and fresh. My only complaint is some of the ingredient ratios seemed off. If balanced, some of the flavors would pop and pair better. We left feeling content but not full which was nice.

Mia was great for the recommendations, it's pricey but I will be back to try other things. It's a great little spot.

adorable place. very bright & very orange. the avocado toast was incredible! i loved all the cheese, seeds, seasonings.. rly tasty stuff. the staff were very friendly, too. excited to come back here. zero complaints. also loved learning about the farm they were partnered with. so it seems eggs taste much better when they come from happy chickens

I've wanted to try this place out for a while and finally had the opportunity, and I am so happy it lived up to my expectations! I'm kinda picky with how eggs are made, and their fluffy scrambled eggs really hit the spot! Their chorizo, wicked jam, and house-made hot sauce are all really flavorful and tasty. Their green juice, which is made fresh every morning and sealed in 12oz bottles is really delicious, definitely one of the best versions I've had. I really appreciate how they use pineapple and orange juice as the base instead of apple juice. The service here was amazing- everyone was so friendly and helpful, and they explained the menu when we mentioned it was our first time here. Even though no one else was eating in at 10am on a Tuesday, the door was constantly ringing with take out and delivery orders. They seem super popular, for good reason. Good quality of ingredients, fast preparation, and reasonably priced! I do highly recommend eating in if you have a chance, they have a great atmosphere! Upbeat music, silly puns on the walls, and right now lots of tasteful fall decor!

    The menu.

I've been meaning to check out The Wicked Egg, and it was the perfect late morning meal when you want good food without the fuss. I had the Classic on the brioche bun with an add on of Wicked Bacon. They did not skimp on the bacon! The bun held up nicely, not soggy and not burnt. Goldilocks would approve! My son got the Benedict bowl and it must've been great because he inhaled it and asked for a bite of my sandwich. We were offered a sample of the house made green juice -fresh, tasty, and a bright green, and the house made hot sauce was tasty but a little on the mild side for us. Overall, a great addition to Mainstreet. We will be back to try the burger and the burrito!

Really enjoyed the egg cheese sandwiches! Simple but good. The sausage egg sandwich had a sweet note to it so that was interesting...

What a fabulous breakfast stop in downtown Libertyville. I decided to try this place out as I wanted somewhere quick but not fast food. I ordered online which was super easy; there are so many substitution options available, all of which are also very easy online. My food was ready for pick up in 5 minutes. I ordered the Denver bowl and substituted the ham with bacon. The potatoes were thick cut southern style hash browns. The bacon was crispy, chopped, and a generous portion, the cheese was delicious, however the eggs seemed a little skimpy. You can add extra egg for $2 - but that feels like a steep up charge for a bowl that is already $12. All in all, it was a great bowl and it did feel like a decent sized bowl for the price, despite the amount of eggs. This is definitely a place that I'd go again to try something different.

First off, the staff was very friendly! The place itself was beautifully decorated and clean. Our food came out quick and it tasted amazinggg, the staff was also attentive. We got the classic and the caramel cold brew, would definitely go back :)

First time here and the food was quite delicious. But the service was even better! Friendly, quick, and wanted to give us farm fresh eggs to take but we had a flight to catch. The gesture was very sweet and just shows the quality of this establishment and its staff. 10/10 would recommend.

The flavor was good, though a tiny bit on the dry side (which tends to happen with chicken sausage). I ordered the cookie butter latte as well, delicious and not too sweet. When you pull up to the plaza you would think anything of the restaurant but when you go inside it's a fun colorful experience. When we were seated we were brought waters and menus. We took some time to look at the menus but ultimately took our server's suggestions on drinks. I ended up having a virgin Rose Colored Glasses drink and absolutely loved it. The drinks were large and I felt they were worth the price. My husband got an old fashioned. To start we got the cheese curds, and when I tell you these cheese curds still live rent free in my mind I kid you not. They were so good, the cheese was battered in a tempura batter with a truffle cream sauce and it made for such an incredible dish! For our entrees we got the pork chop with the brown butter sauces and bavette with a red wine reduction. The pork chop was great with the brown butter you just gotta make sure you mix it up, and the red wine was a bit too salty for me but it was okay because I ended up loving the steak by itself! For our sides we got the grilled zucchini under the snacks option instead of the sides option because I wanted all the fixings. It was a great choice! The fixings really made and I could eat a plate of that and just be happy (with the cheese curds of course). The wiped potatoes were great as well. Now I was going to pass on dessert because I was SO full already, but twist my arm when you tell me the cookie dough ice cream is a must try. It had real cookie dough chunks on top and bottle and the vanilla ice cream was not boring vanilla, I ate almost half of that bowl and couldn't stop. The chocolate chip cookie dough was house made and it was the perfect blend of sweet and salty that tied the whole ice cream bowl together. Can't recommend that enough as well. All in all, we had a great experience! It was so fun to see so many regulars and so many new folks who came in to dine at the same time as us and we all peeked to see who ordered what before we ordered and got some great recs as you can see! Can't wait to come back to enjoy my favorites and more!

Started with the bread and crabcakes and the bread was amazing and definitely fresh but the crabcakes needed more crab and flavor. Basically everything needed more flavor. We also ordered a bottle of wine which our server struggled with and never came over to refill the glasses. Then the entree's; my husband's bolognese was bland and desperately needed at least salt and pepper. Then the real problem was my steak which was supposed to be medium came out well done and then classically when it was recooked came out rare or medium rare if you are being generous. Then the waitress said she would check back and she didn't so I had to get salt myself from the server station which is kinda ridiculous especially when paying $54 for a steak that already has no seasoning which is why they offer free sauces which makes a lot of sense now. When she finally did come back I said it was under but not waiting for it to be overcooked again so reheating it at home with the cold side of mushrooms I ordered WITH my steak. I did talk to the manager after and he was not really helpful or sympathetic and I was really talking to him so in my review I could say well at least management cares but that is not the case here. I gave 2 stars because their drinks are good and the ambiance is nice and the hostess was super friendly and was the star employee after our visit. Also we paid for everything even the cold mushrooms and over/under cooked steak! At minimum also remake my mushrooms or comp them. Would I eat here again hopefully not but it is locationally desirable for me and my in-laws and have lots of GF options so might have to and if I do hopefully they will have made things better.

The Tocino was a little different from what I'm used to. I'm used to a slab of pork pan fried with the fat fried to a slight crunch lol. I'm also used to tocino being red in color.
