I love walking into an Irish pub with all the dark woods and warm feelings. We were greeted by Ryan, a super sweet and funny with the most adorable dimples. It was 5pm and pretty empty so he spent time talking with us. He was the ultimate appetizer! There were 4 of us. One got the veggie burger and the other 3 of us split soft Pretzels with beer cheese and cauliflower bites with a garlic Parmesan sauce. It was so good, we ordered a second plate of each. So much fun with this group of friends, but the Brazen Tavern made it even better.

This spot delivers an exceptional experience with fantastic food, refreshing drinks, and an incredibly welcoming environment. The interior features a cool, dark, and moody aesthetic that is perfectly balanced by plenty of TVs, making it a premier destination to catch a football game or hang out with fellow fans. The seating throughout the venue is exceptionally comfortable and spacious, while the friendly staff provides consistent, attentive, and quick service. Every dish is prepared with genuine care and comes in satisfying portions, with the perfectly cooked Tavern burger, flavorful cauliflower bites, and the absolutely phenomenal pear and bleu cheese salad standing out as major menu highlights. It is a wonderful neighborhood staple that we look forward to visiting regularly!

The place was busy but we made a reservation. They only had two people waiting on tables and they were hustling so it was hard to catch their attention. The food was all really good and lots of options on the menu. I definitely want to come back and try other items.

Shrimp tacos. Food was good, but not with an ambiance of loud, thumping, distorted music.

Super packed yet we were able to score a seat after a 5 min wait. This place was really loud with patrons yet the whole experience would have been fine had they not had a sub woofer mounted above the door blasting distorted music. Not sure what management is thinking with that setup, not enjoyable at all. We couldn't even have a conversation without basically yelling to one another. And although we would have liked to have a couple drinks before our meal we quickly finished our meal and left. The food itself was good. I had the shrimp tacos, they were nicely balanced with heat and sweetness.

Great service with a kind bartender. I ended up here by accident waiting for a train home. Loved the old fashioned and the vibe. The boneless wings were decent, not a huge fan but they sufficed. I would come here again!

After the comedy village my friends and I went to the Brazen tavern to get some drinks and food. I got the buffalo chicken quesadilla during the happy hour as this was a Wednesday night. The quesadilla was pretty good, nothing to complain about, but it wasn't amazing. I would definitely come again on a late weekday night to get some drinks during happy hour.

Was craving a Baja style fish taco so I ordered their rendition! Each was made with a corn tortilla, crispy cod, cilantro, house made slaw + a light drizzle of chipotle mayo. the thinly cut slaw definitely had tangy, interesting zest to it which I loved. I also appreciated that they went lighter on the sauce. Great char on the tortillas. Looooove that they use cod as it's really the only way to go with this style. 3 tacos for about $20 isn't unheard of these days so I think all the components and size are worth it. It came with a wedge of lemon, though -- should come with lime! Menu is full of variety; huge appetizer and salad section, sandwiches and flatbreads, larger entrees, and desserts.

I was organizing a happy hour for our entire school staff, and Brazen Tavern turned out to be the perfect choice! Given our large group, we needed a venue that could accommodate us, and this place exceeded expectations. A lot of our team had been here before and loved it, so it was an easy decision. The service was fantastic--attentive and friendly. The staff made sure everyone had enough drinks, and they offered the option to order food, which was great. Payment was smooth, with no hassle, and the manager was incredibly helpful in ensuring everything went smoothly from start to finish. If you're looking for a spot to host a big event without breaking the bank, Brazen Tavern is a great option. The space is ideal for larger groups, and the affordability makes it even better. We had a great time, and I'd definitely recommend it to other organizations looking for a fun, budget-friendly venue. We'll likely be back!

If you want a woodsy, classic sports bar feel - this has that atmosphere. We made a reservation & got seated immediately, but overall service was spotty/a bit lacking/slow. This is located very near theaters & other attractions, so it's handily located - but if you're in a time crunch or need to make a show, request checks early. The food was decent, just a bit overpriced for tavern fare. I might recommend this spot more for drinks & watching sports.

We had drinks here from the recommendation of the concierge at the Intercontinental Hotel. We had gone to two different bars in the area but were all crowded. The hostess was the nicest at the Brazen Tavern. Even though the bar was packed, they let us stand up and enjoy our cocktails. The bartender was also super nice.

I love Smithwicks, I don't see it enough on tap.

I stopped in here after dinner for a few drinks before heading back to my hotel for the night. There were a few open seats at the bar, as soon as I sat down the bartender came over and greeted me. He was efficient and personable, overall a good bartender that told me I chose a good spot. There seemed to be several regulars in the bar which was good, I had enough of tourists (even though I was one) for the day. It also tells me that this place must do some things right. I didn't order food but did look over the menu, the traditional bar fare you'd expect, burgers, nachos, etc. with the obligatory Irish additions (per the name). The environment was exactly what I like. The lighting was perfect, not too bright but I could see, there was background music that allowed you to have a conversation with someone and not feel like your every word was heard. I'll definitely return and order some food. But even just stopping in for a few drinks, I recommend!

Love this place! Service is very friendly and overly accommodating. Came in on a Monday afternoon to watch the baseball playoffs. The bartender was very accommodating and gave me the choice of closed captions or not. Found the back room with the comfiest leather couch ever! Took a crane to get me back on my feet, but I could have spent the night here. Had a Laganitas IPA which was delicious! Would not hesitate to come back again.

We here for a quick pre-theatre dinner. Reasonable prices and good service. We were able to take advantage of the happy hour prices.

    Is this restaurant kid-friendly?

I would say kids would definitely be allowed here, but this isn't the type of place where there's a kids menu, if that makes any sense.

Surrounding TVs keep every play, fight and miracle replayed in glorious surround-sass while wooden tables beg for pitchers, pretzels and conspiracy theories about the ref. Whether you're upstairs for the 3rd floor vibe, mid-level for the perfect sightline, or down in the cozy den with the best acoustics, this is New York sports bar energy: loud, a little brazen, impossibly welcoming. One particular bartender, Delaney not only brings an awesome level of energy to the bar, she saunters in like a halftime show -- a grin that's equal parts mischief and welcome. She's all quick elbows and quicker comebacks, the kind of bartender who remembers your name, your drink, and that one ridiculous story you told months ago. Her laugh is loud, her wink is devious, and she has a way of making first-timers feel like regulars by the second round. Behind the wooden bar she's choreography: expert pours, theatrical muddles, and a flourish that makes every order feel curated. Taking off a star because I had a weird experience with the people at the front. I'm currently recovering from an injury and I'm in a pretty obvious neck brace. I was visiting with two people who were on their way and would be arriving in about 10-15 minutes and the people at the front told me I couldn't be seated until they arrived. I understand that this is normal protocol, but I pointed out my neck brace and asked if an exception could be made because it's significantly more comfortable for me to sit down (and there was no room at the bar). They said that their manager wouldn't let them do that, and that they couldn't seat me until the rest of my party was there. There were tons of table tables available the entire time and when my friend arrived about 12 minutes later, they seated us, I totally could've sat the whole time and it wouldn't have been a problem. Not the end of the world and I probably could've pushed it harder, but it definitely was a little awkward!

We were dazed and confused because how was I able to reserve online? But the real plot twist was that it ended up being the best thing that happened. We actually stumbled into Tanner Smith's thinking it'd be the typical, boring bar-food spot. Nope. They first sat us at a hi-top by the door, but that wasn't our vibe, so we grabbed seats at the bar instead. Best decision. Our bartender, Josiah, was absolutely killing it. My cocktail had passion fruit, so of course I asked my usual question: "But is it real passion fruit?" He just nodded in agreement and that told me everything I needed to know. That drink was legit and had nice strength. The food was great too. My fish tacos were packed with fresh fish, the guacamole and salsa were chunky and full of flavor and hubs enjoyed his pastrami sandwich. They had outdoor seating along 9th ave and 51st street. We sat inside at a hightop , along their big open windows of 9th; great in between of inside and outside. Plenty of options for a big or small group, or solo! Our server was McKenna, who was incredibly attentive, we never felt like we were waiting or had to wave anyone down. The food came quickly, and was great. Nothing that changed our lives, but hot, quick, and delicious. I can see this becoming a regular spot for when we can't decide on where to go and just want somewhere dependable and consistent. Inside is like a typical Irish pub: long bar, wood everywhere, comfy high tops and booth seating along the wall. Keep in mind that it is a sports bar with TVs everywhere, so they will be playing the major sport of the season. The volume isn't too loud though, enough to hear, but don't need to cover your ears. The bottomless option on the weekend is great, 2-3 drinks and you get your money's worth. The bloody's are good quality, with a good bite of Tabasco and horseradish (I prefer that!) and the mimosas are bubbly forward (they're not skimping you with mostly OJ). The food prices for brunch aren't crazy either. Selection is a bit limited, but seeing as this is a pub/tavern, I think they have a pretty good mix. Overall, would absolutely recommend. If you have a big group, have some common sense and book a reservation, but likely able to do walk-ins for small groups, couples, or singles easily. This is a great option for laid back vibes in HK.
