NOT IMPRESSED Stopped in for a quick lunch around 1:00 PM and I was extremely disappointed with the service and food quality. When I arrived, there were only a few other customers seated in the dining room. That should have been a RED flag, but I wanted to try the burgers while visiting New York. My wife had the Classic Burger topped with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, house sauce served with fries for $19.95 and I had the Smash-ology Burger with double smash burger patties topped with American cheese, red onion, lettuce tomato, smash-ology sauce on a potato bun served with fries for $19.95. First, the burgers are very small, lack flavor and there is nothing special about them. I've had a better tasting burger from Steak & Shack for a fraction of the cost. The fries were very cold and looked like they were sitting on a holding table for an extended period. I sent the fries back only to be served with more cold fries. Service was also lacking. When I complained about the cold fries, the server didn't seem to be pleased and was very hesitant to take them back. At a cost of more than $45 for two burgers and fries, I expected more. Burger was overcooked and patty was dry. They put sooo much sauce on it. I'm usually someone who likes sauce but it was so bland. I came for my first time to both burgerology and dueling pianos. It was a very fun time! I wish I could have ordered a flight but was told they weren't serving those. The food was solid. Nothing memorable, relatively heavy, but the poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the portions were filling for sure. Would come back to try the non brunch menu. Went on a Sunday so at least most parking is free (or can take the train); got a spot right in front of Crowne Plaza, where the restaurant is in. We were seated in a separate area, for the show. A lot of tables in close proximity to each other but luckily we were seated on a high top with a great view of the performers. It is a brunch show so we ordered from the brunch menu, from 7-2pm. Got the 3 Bennys - with spinach and artichoke dip (which I liked the most of the 3), canadian bacon and short rib (meat a bit dry). With a side of tots. Also the Brunch-ology burger - was ok, fries were good. Coffees around $7 each. Pricey. Service was fine. Casual spot connected to the Crowne Plaza HY hotel with an average burger. Got the classic burger (cooked medium) and it was fine, not particularly juicy or amazing but also not horrible. Upgraded the side to poutine which was fine - disappointed that none of the sauce stuck to the fries and was just hardened glob that separates from the fries. My friend got the fried cauliflower wings, which were similarly disappointing. First time in NYC and tried this restaurant for dinner our first night after a long day of travel. Seated right away and server got us water and then disappeared for about ten minutes before coming back to get our order. We were a family of five, two adults and three kids (2 teens) and got the portobello burger, tuna burger classic and Nashville hot chicken. Serving sizes were pretty standard, but you could probably share for kids or light eaters. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was weird and bathrooms are unisex so just one big bathroom with stalls (stalls are like private rooms) but it wasn't bad. The bloody Merry is one of the best I had which was the first sign that they take themselves seriously here. This was not a pre mix rhey buy, they make it in house with lots of spices and what not. This was a great spot! There are so many fun and unique things on the menu!! Daniel, the manager, was so kind and made sure we had a great visit. We were greeted immediately and got to sit down wherever we like. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He gave us some recommendations. We decided to try the wings and tater tots. We had 6 BBQ and 6 buffalo. They were cooked perfectly and had the right amount of sauce. The tater tots were crispy and had the right amount of cheese, bacon bits and chives. I was surprised that the burger was really attacked by the mac --- meaning there was a lot on the plate! The sweet fries were kind of a dud though. The place has a fresh and modern vibe. It is spacious enough, so you do not feel crowded. Being attached to the Crowne Plaza HY36 Midtown Manhattan it is open in the morning too. This is a slept on place. If you're near Times Square, this is worth the extra walk. Away from the crowds this formable establishment is just waiting to be filled. A modern bar, with an expansive liquor selection, known for their burgers with ample televisions and attentive bar tenders-is worth the stop. I got take out...and was blown away! I sat for a couple beers, which were cold and big, before ordering take out. While sitting and waiting I had some concerns about what the experience might have been eating in...a lot of wrong plates-to-customers, took a while to change kegs over, a manager overseeing alot... But the food was so delicious it didn't matter. I got the lamb burger that was so tender, delicious and filling. The fries are on point and plentiful. What a spot. 9/10 recommend across the board. Burgerology is located in Midtown amongst the Times Square Craziness. The menu is exciting and has a ton of options-unfortunately I was a bit underwhelmed. The drink options are exciting-but are a bit too sweet. I tasted the Bomb Pop and the Element cocktails-both were too sweet so I swapped them for the Greek Lemonade which ended up being not sweet enough. To eat, we tried a few things: I enjoyed the Proton Burger sub Beyond Burger, Onion Rings, and Sweet Potato Fries with a yummy marshmallow sauce. The Nachos were a bit bland-SALT please. The biggest disappointment was the Mac and Cheese: it had so much potential since it used shells and seemed to have had a lot of cheese sauce but, again....completely lacked salt and flavor. PLEASE I beg places like this to taste the food before serving! We shared the Cookie Jar Sundae for dessert, which was decent. For the price, I can't be too mad. Our servers were friendly, but service was quite slow. I think there is a lot of potential for the food here, but the chefs just need to work on adding some actual spice and flavor! read more
