    Comfy King-size bed
    Rita M.

We stayed here whenever we are making a road trip to visit family in Oklahoma. Very clean and accommodating. Can't complain. I was really surprised of the cost for the night for a room with a king bed and a pullout couch for our family. We also had the government rate so not sure if that had anything to do with it. Will definitely stay here again especially since there were multiple locations in Amarillo along I -40. Surprisingly we picked the same one we stayed at years ago. There is a Texas Roadhouse right across the street. We usually stop by Texas Tea across the street before we head out on the road again. I didn't take many pics since we got in around midnight and was tired.

Wife and I stayed here while passing through and booked while driving. We should've priced other hotels before booking because we noticed this location was particularly higher than others; $149 here and other location $89. Check in was easy, room was nice & clean, beds are comfy with fluffy pillows, has mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, safe for valuables. Water pressure was low to medium range and the walls are thin as we could hear our neighbors talking and hear us as well apparently and our TV lol. Nice hotel with plenty of parking and restaurants nearby, has indoor pool and hot tub, fitness area, breakfast area (we didn't try). We had a good rest, again nice clean hotel but pricing is much more than the other Holiday Inn off West Amarillo Boulevard and surrounding areas.

Room seemed clean when we first walked in, however when I pulled the bed spread back... lets just say I was not happy. Disgusting is the first word that came to mind. I will say the young lady at the desk immediately brought a change for us and with my wife's help the new linens were installed. Very disappointing though-so LETS GO BIDEN! Hopefully once he's gone (provided we ever have another honest election) we can get back to being the America I grew up knowing. Merry Christmas and Godspeed.

This is a awesome hotel is what I thought until we left on Friday morning the day after Thanksgiving. My son started itching like crazy and when I looked, he had huge whelts on his neck, shoulders and arms. I am beyond mortified. This is without a doubt, bedbugs. He stayed in room 103. We will be using bedbug protocol when we get home to make sure we didn't bring these bastards home with us.

When I'm traveling long distance I don't ask for much in a hotel beyond the basic amenities and affordability; I want a safe, clean room, convenient ice and pop machines, and cleanliness. I was pleasantly surprised by this Holiday Inn Express. It had electronic doors which kept me from having to put my bags down to enter the lobby. The receptionist was professional in both dress and behavior. The lobby was well-kept. My upstairs room was a nice size ("roomy," I'd say) and very clean. The bed was oh-so-comfortable - I actually let out an audible sigh when I laid down on it (I was tempted to book a second night just so I wouldn't have to get out of bed the next day.) I noticed that they use "triple sheeting," which means a bottom sheet, top sheet, blanket, then a third sheet. This "blanket sandwich" probably helps them feel better about putting a blanket that isn't laundered daily between two freshly laundered (I hope!) sheets. I kinda like the idea, although I prefer freshly laundered blankets. The continental breakfast was nothing special but was timely, tasty and hit the spot. I made a biscuit sandwich out of the biscuit, scrambled eggs and sausage offered. Checkout was a breeze; my bill was slipped under the door so all I had to do was drop the key off at the front desk as I walked out. I have seen good reviews for this hotel going back to 2004, which tells me they are doing a great job keeping up the furnishings and the decor. I would recommend this hotel to other travelers.

This property is fine; however, in October 2016, I called the General Manager, Priscilla Mendoza, to make a state contracted reservation. Even though the hotel is NOT in contract with the state, she agreed verbally to make the reservations and asked me to call back the first part of November. I sent her an email to confirm and just let her know who I was for future reference. She responded accordingly and cordially. November rolls around...Not only did I call three times, I sent two reply emails to her. No response. No call back. Nothing. I still have the email which I sent her in October which includes her response. Now, I know that she is under no responsibility to make my reservation, however, I do feel like she is under some responsibility to respond!! Even if it was "Hey, sorry I can't accommodate you this time around." I would have appreciated at least that much and wouldn't be writing this review. I should also note, we've stayed at this property NUMEROUS times in the past. So much so, that when we would walk in, the staff would smile and say "Y'all are back!!" So disappointed.

    Nice bathroom.

One of the biggest issues was the lack of consistent air conditioning throughout the building, which made common areas feel uncomfortable at times. I also found the terrace layout inconvenient since there are no stairs providing direct access, making it less practical than expected. Unfortunately, the room had a funky odor when I arrived that never completely went away during my stay. While the staff was courteous and the location was convenient, the overall experience didn't match the quality I expected. With some renovations and improved upkeep, this hotel could be a much better place to stay.

I am the single mom who brought her kids here to share the Mesquite room on October 9-10, 2022. This bed and breakfast is located in a somewhat remote area of Amarillo, Texas. The surrounding landscape is a bit reminiscent of Palo Duro Canyon - which is just a short drive away - but not in an extreme way that the Lone Star state park yields. The view from the hot tub at 7:30PM was amazing with a glorious display of sunset colors. Robes were provided behind the bathroom door. Near the pond on the old red, white, and blue amusement park ride chair, we found a walking stick. A friendly orange Tabby cat kept returning to our front door. My 8 and 9-year-old couldn't resist petting the stray feline. We weren't crazy about the continental breakfast which comprised of a cherry turnover, Yoplait yogurt, and Tropicana apple juice so we'll pass on that if we don't stay on a morning when they offer a hot meal. Just a couple of other cons: I leave to pick up pizza in town and someone takes my spot in front of our door. Lol. Also, my stupid Sprint/T-mobile coverage was terrible here. The other accomodations definitely overrode the somewhat lacking Monday morning breakfast: quiet neighborhood, calm weather, microwave, mini fridge, iron & board, lots of programs on the TV, free Wi-Fi, walk-in shower, and private gated area with code access.

We stayed in the Pinion. The positives. It's remote and really close to Palo Duro Canyon (18 minutes) That was nice. It's about 12 minutes from the Big Texan. It's in a pretty setting. The bed was comfy. We stay at B&B's because there is a level of expectation where hospitality takes over and you feel like you were being treated like royalty. This is not that place. It almost felt like our stay was a little bit of an inconvenience. The room is small and very dated, but covered in wood plank and not very clean. A lot of dust. This particular room did not have a shower and only a bath tub with the hot water trickles out. I'm not joking. It took about 30 minutes to fill the bathtub. Tip 1. Make sure to ask if the room you are booking has a shower if you're needing a shower for medical reasons or handicap accessibility. According to one of the reviews, and in their pictures, there appeared to be a nice shower in the mesquite, but we weren't given the chance to stay there. Once you get in the room, you're given two towels for the bath and two towels for the hot tub. I uncovered the hot tub to see that the water was very cloudy and it wasn't a result of the bubbles. So I put the cover right back on. They don't give you anything with respect to toiletries when it comes to soap or shampoo or lotions or bath bomb. So it really does feel like you're not being pampered. Bed And Breakfast should always feel like you're being pampered. And inside the room, you're not giving any type of bottled water, filtered water and so you rely on the bathroom sink in the bathroom tub. Which I thought was really bad. The outside of the room was covered in Pineneedles on the walkway, and so we tracked some into a room. When we were trying to get into the door, some even to get into the wheels of our suitcase. It was kind of annoying. The area is just really dated and not well kept. However, that does give it a very rustic feel and so if you're into that kind of thing that it may suit your fancy. It does have a really cute cat that keeps you company in the random deer that you will see from time to time. Overall, I'm sure it meets the needs of a specific clientele that would enjoy that atmosphere but when I go to a bed-and-breakfast, I consider myself to be high maintenance. So they certainly could meet the need a specific individuals however, it's not a place that I would really return to .
