    3rd room, still not correct.
    Laura H.

Don't. Just don't. I booked a King Executive Upgraded Suite Nonsmoking. When I checked in, they gave me a standard room with 2 queen beds. I went back down to the check in desk, they apologized and then gave me a standard room with 1 king bed. Undeterred, I went back down again and was told I would need to pay an additional $10 per night to get a suite. I refused and the manager relented and finally gave me the suite. When I booked the room with corporate, I was told the bathroom in the room would have a Jacquzzi tub. When I got to the 3rd room with no Jacquzzi, I went down to complain for a 3rd time and was told there are no jetted tubs on property besides the hot tub. Wow. It was late and we went to bed. We were in town for a bowling tournament and needed to be on the road by 7:15 each morning. Breakfast is supposed to start at 7:00. It was not until 7:15 on Saturday morning that most of the hot stuff came out and we had to leave. The pancake machine never worked the whole time we were there, which is a big selling point for my 6-year-old and I. We had to pay for breakfast at the bowling alley. One of the whole points of staying with Holiday Inn Express is that breakfast is included. That night we discovered was appeared to be a tissue besides the couch. We complained about it to the front desk first thing the next morning and we were told we needed to fill out a form to get our room cleaned. Sorry, should we have filled out a form before our stay to ensure we got a clean room? Crazy. We filled out the form and went out for the day. We returned that afternoon and the tissue was still there. We complained because clearly they didn't thoroughly clean the room because they knew exactly where to look and didn't get that. So we called on the room phone for a manager and were told the lady at the check in desk was the only one on duty. She came up and we explained the situation. It was approximately 4:45 p.m. and she said housekeeping was leaving at 5:00 p.m. and would take care of it; she called the room to verify this a few minutes later. We went out to dinner at approximate 5:15 and told the lady at checking who had been helping us no one had showed up. She said they would. When we came back, it was cleaned up. I had been trying to call corporate about the issues we have had since Friday. I was put on hold for 1 or 2 hours and would give up. I put in a call on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and was told the wait was 19 minutes and I could hang up and they would call me back when it was my turn. I never received a call back. I was fed up this morning at 9:00 so I called back. I was still in the queue!! I held for 2 hours. At 11:00 a.m., 19 hours later, a live person answered. I told him the whole issue, basically I feel like they just wanted me to get the completely incorrect thing and not complain because they have made it as hard as possible. The hotel itself didn't care. Corporate left me on hold for 19 hours, so they clearly don't care. He let me know he would send a message to the hotel and to the ownership level but there was no guarantee they'd even respond to me. I asked could he please have someone at the ownership level contact me, but that wasn't possible. I tried to put in my issues through the app on Friday night and again on Saturday, but it does not appear to be possible until after your visit. I would think they would prefer to take care of a customer while they're still a customer and not after the fact when you're completely done with the whole company. I have been an IHG member since 2014. Never again.

    Breakfast!!!

Nice staff. Nice rooms. Good breakfast. Nice hot tub. The room stayed nice and cool. Clean! Housekeeping would only do trash and towels. Not make the bed or restock anything.

    Dark hairs on supposedly
 clean tub

Arrived at 2am due to home air conditioning not working in middle of the night,so we did not inspect the room. We saw dark hairs on the tub in the morning. For all the cleaning for Covid-19, pretty surprising. The breakfast is two sugary items and small bottle of water in paper bag. Hot coffee is available. The beds are comfortable. Might want to rethink staying here.

The food was genuinely excellent, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. The bed was also a standout -- more comfortable than what I've experienced at most four-star hotels. I also loved the in-room Nespresso machine, which was a great touch. The only drawbacks are the location and setting. It's not ideal if you want to be close to a more metropolitan, walkable area, and being right on the creek means there can be quite a few bugs, especially in the evening. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing, stylish getaway with great food and very comfortable rooms.

We also met some great guests, and one couple lives near us. We really connected and we will be going to lunch with them in two weeks. We will definitely go back and visit on our next trip to Georgetown.

The waffles and the breakfast tacos were delicious. We tried to cancel the 1st night, but they still billed us for that night because it was past their cancellation time. I was frustrated, but realized it was my fault for booking the 3 nights instead of 2. I didn't read the fine print and apologized for losing my temper. Manny and Janet were very friendly and dedicated. I met the manager Eric at breakfast and we shared stories about growing up in San Marcos. The hotel recently did some renovations and I initially assumed that it was a brand-new build because everything was so new. The room was clean and quiet. There was no problem with noise from the freeway because the hotel is situated on a lower tier behind the businesses facing I-35. Overall, my only disappointment was that the swimming pool is located outdoors and it's not covered. Because of the weather in Texas, swimming pools need to either be located indoors or have a cover if outside.

If you are visiting people living in the retirement community of Sun City, then this hotel is convenient and comfortable for the stay. We had several members of the family stay here. The first floor is reserved for those who might need accessible features in their room or for those who have pets. This location allows hotel guests to bring their dogs, but you must make your reservation in advance to ensure that one of the limited dog-friendly rooms is available. Also, there is a daily charge of $20 for the pet. We were originally going to bring ours, but in the end chose to board them in a facility at home. We ended up on the third floor. There is an elevator in the middle of the interior of the building for accessing the second and third floors. You'll either have a view of the parking lot, or if you are lucky, a view of the pool. Sadly, ours was of the cars and asphalt. No matter, it was so hot, we kept the shades closed the entire time. Our A/C window unit seemed to struggle to keep our king suite cool. August is brutally hot in Texas, and the humidity made things sticky and even more miserable. I wanted it cooler and my husband did not, so we compromised by putting the unit at 68 degrees and me fetching another blanket from the front desk for my husband. We also left the bathroom fan on to help reduce the humidity in the room and kept the bathroom door shut to help the fan work more efficiently in clearing out the humid air. The king suite couch was small and low to the ground. It reminds me of an old beat up one that you might find in a fraternity house. Yeah, I didn't want to sit on it because it didn't look inviting, but I tried it out because the only other choice was the desk computer chair or the living room table which were actually two poofs or ottomans. Perhaps good for putting your feet up or allowing additional guests a place to pop a squat, but not great for setting down a cup with coffee or the like. The outdoor pool is rectangular in shape. It had steps on one end and even had an accessibility lift on the other end so that all patrons could enjoy it. The pool is gated for safety reasons. I like that they had a variety of patio furniture to hangout and enjoy it. There are lounge chairs for those wanting to layout as well as tables and chairs for those wanting to sit up and visit. There is a cabinet where you can easily grab a towel to dry off and a bin for placing the used ones. The towels have a color coded stripe on the end that designates them as pool towels and not ones that go in guest rooms. Breakfast included the usual hot and cold items such as eggs, biscuits and gravy, sausage, waffle maker, cereal, yogurt, juice, and coffee. Despite the usual offerings, I was disappointed in the hot breakfast. The eggs were round and possibly from a box mix. They were not good. It's hard to mess up on eggs, but these were so bad, we didn't breakfast here again opting instead to eat in town. There is a small convenience store next to the front desk that allows you to buy soda and snacks from the staff. Overall our stay here was fine, but not necessarily a place I'm pining to return to, and definitely not a place where I would want to spend a holiday vacation.

It had a few lounge chairs and several regular chairs. The staff made sure to keep the towels stocked when they knew we were headed to the pool. There was also a gym but we didn't check it out. We found our room to be clean, spacious and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like a bedside table with light and charger next to each side of the bed, not just the inside of each bed. This is often not the case in other hotels. The rooms seemed well planned, with a sleeper sofa, a good sized and fully-stocked kitchenette, a ton of storage to accommodate every traveler in the room, and a regular desk area with a separate portable rolling desk, which could easily accommodate two people working in the room at the same time. The bathroom was bright and spacious with a walk-in shower instead of a tub, which would be easy for elderly travelers to use. (Grab bar and non-slippery surfaces as well.) There was coffee and tea available 24/7 in the spacious lobby, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff was absolutely fantastic, and very responsive to questions/requests. Our room was on the ground level and probably should have some type of translucent shade for privacy from the parking lot (other than just a room darkening shade,) but this is a small constructive criticism as it is hard to complain when everything else was so far beyond our expectations! Our family of four absolutely loved this hotel and we will definitely stay again when back in the area!
