I stayed for an overnight length. Not too long but enough to enjoy almost everything this location has to offer. In terms of "busyness" I can't comment on that but the staff was extremely friendly and acknowledgeable with all my questions and concerns. I don't recall the front staff females I dealt with and spoke to but they were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. As an IHG member I usually just book through them and chose this location cause I liked the location and design. The room was clean and prepared neatly, I completely forgot this location had a pull out sofa which was a nice add on and some locations don't do that. The fitness center would be my only complaint due to the cycling machine not working properly, don't know if the A/C was not working or disconnected but I don't want to mess with it and during the weekend in summer that room got extremely hot like a sauna, and lastly the room it self was extremely small? I would ask how often it is used on the daily basis regarding the condition but I'm not knocking it as I am always interested in doing some sort of fitness when I stay at a hotel. Overall the entire staff was friendly and amazing. I will say this location has more amenities for the bathroom than any other locations I have been. Reservation Dates - November 3 - November 6, 2022 We experienced a problem at the Holiday Inn Express property located at 27660 Jefferson Ave, Temecula, CA 92590. I am a long standing Platinum member, and I am terribly disappointed with the lack of professional Customer Service and disrespectful manner in which I was treated by the General Manager Giovanni. Over a month ago, I made reservations for three rooms. The rate of these rooms was ​quoted as $99.00 per night by the IHG employee at the desk.I I confirmed the rate for these rooms on ​two subsequent occasions, since two of these rooms were for people traveling to California from out of state. On Thursday (11-3-22), just a matter of hours before the out of state family arrived, I received a call from Nathan who was working the Front Desk. He stated that the Room Rate had changed from $99.00 to over $250.00 per night. Apparently the Night Auditor (Liz) discovered the mistake in the rate and reported the error. Suffice it to say, I was not pleased with this unexpected rate change and asked to speak to the Manager. Nathan said the General Manager (Giovanni) was off property and not returning until Friday (11-4-22) at 8:00am, but added the Manager would be calling me - Giovanni never called. Instead, Giovanni had Nathan call my room to reiterate the rate change was steadfastly in place, and he would not honor the original rate of $99.00. I called the corporate offices Customer Service and spoke with Chad. She in turn, contacted the Temecula property directly to discover the problem with the reservation rate. Chad said, what occurred was that a relatively new Front Desk staff made a simple mistake of making the $99.00 rate for the entire weekend. Chad went on to say, I should contact the hotel again and deal with the General Manager to further address the problem. I went downstairs to talk to the Front Desk, and again I was told the General Manager was off property until Friday at 8:00am. At 8:30am Friday morning (11-4-22), I went downstairs to the Front Desk to speak to the General Manager - he was not there. Fortunately, the Liz the Night Auditor was present and asked if she could help. She looked up the reservation, and said yes, I will honor this rate. Liz was polite and professional and because of her attitude and demeanor I kept the three rooms and remained at the hotel. Interestingly, on Thursday afternoon about 4:30pm as we waited downstairs in the lobby area for the out of state folks to arrive... we observed a tall man parking his car out in front of the hotel. He walked through the hotel lobby dressed in work out attire and went into the hotel gym. Once everyone arrived, we were all downstairs in the Breakfast room area discussing checking out and other hotel options in the area. At this time, the same man left the gym and walked out to his car and left the property. On Friday morning my wife noticed, the same car was parked out in front of the hotel and this same man was now behind the Front Desk. This young man identified himself as Giovanni, the General Manager. In other words, Giovanni was on property on Thursday and he could have taken care of the entire problem himself, yet failed in his responsibly and leadership. He never apologized for the error, was not accountable and did not have the good manners to look up from the computer while speaking. What makes matters worse, everything became very clear, he allowed the inexperienced Front Desk staff to handle the problem rather than deal with it as he should. Good manners go a long way and bad manners go even further by leaving an overall negative impression. The Front Desk staff were polite, yet terribly inexperienced through no fault of their own- they just need more training, which is completely understandable. People make mistakes when they are not trained properly and they were merely following what they were instructed to communicate. However, there is absolutely no excuse for Giovanni. There was certainly an arrogant attitude while working the Front Desk. His lack of social skills and good manners resonated by attitude. His lack of humility was manifested and amplified through his hubris and his inadequate customer service skills set. It would have taken very little effort to address the overall problem. Yet, it was obvious he felt entitled by delegating his responsibilities to an untrained staff. A General Manager needs to lead by example and the example Giovanni has modeled is not a positive image for the Holiday Inn Express. Eventually, the $99.00 per night rate was honored, yet the entire situation was problematic and could have easily been avoided altogether if the General Manager had done the right thing from the beginning. read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel out of necessity. We generally tow a 5th wheel and prefer an RV park, however our truck is in the shop. Honest opinion, I wouldn't stay here again. The breakfast was nice but for $200+ a night, the mattress was horrible; it felt like it was 50 years old. My husband and I both left with pain in our back and neck. We were on the ground floor and could hear all the water usage from the guests above and the cleaning cart needed some shocks going down the hallway. If you take a chance on this hotel, I would recommended a second or third story room. read more

We came here for school shopping and staying here for 2 nights unfortunately this place doesn't not cut it. when we first walked it smells like smoke, in our room we found 2 spiders and bed bugs and the floor were dirty and had hair and food crumbs underneath the bed. There is a mirror that pulls out in the bathroom that was broken. Couldn't move it. You can hear everything from the 2 floor people were running back and forth and slamming their doors. This hotel is in dire need of renovation. Rooms are extremely dated, old tub/shower with mold on corners, holes in the walls where it looks like they had to replace shower curtain rod. This hotel should be demolished. It is absolutely disgusting. I honestly didn't even want to sit on the bed. I have never stayed at a Holiday Inn in this bad of condition. Ever. The front desk gave me a new room and it was actually worse. Blood splatter on the entire side of the bed, mold in the bathroom, TV would not work. Booked a room here for 2 nights. The room was a bit pricey for a hotel that has bums living in the bushes in the hotel parking lot. The room we had was a bit dated, and I wasn't impressed as it really needs to be upgraded big time! However, they do have a complimentary breakfast every morning. They also had a managers special night where they gave 2 free drinks and chips or pretzels which was pretty cool. They even had homemade cookies in the lounge. I'm going to go ahead and be generous with my stars and give 4 stars for the hospitality. Also, checkout is at 12 which is a plus! read more

The reason for 1 star is because the pool was gross. There were only 3 lounge chair and one was completely broken. The jacuzzi was green. Trash can over flowing. Wasn't pleased with overall experience/value of our 2 night stay. My husband and I arrived around 5:30 Friday evening for check in. We left our event only to check into our hotel because we knew we wouldnt be back before 9pm. There was only 1 employee at front desk which added to our wait time, delaying our quick return to the event we were attending. We were given room 126, walked in, noticed 2 double beds. Returned to front desk and requested employee to assign a room with either a queen, king, anything other than 2 double beds. She laughed and said no, but that we could enjoy sleeping on our own "I love Lucy style", exactly what she said. I understand her tactic to make light of the unfortunate situation, but it seemed like we were being mocked. Snarky comments on top of having to have my own bed when we came into town as a getaway vacation, not a pleasant experience. Now let's address the continental breakfast. Free perk, yes. Quality food, not so much. What ever happened to make your own Belgium waffle? Also, Holiday Inn is a VERY large hotel chain.... this location clearly is not environmentally conscious. Styrofoam plates and bowls at breakfast! Even paper plates cost less and are more eco friendly compared to stryofoam. Quite appalled that in 2019 California this isn't an industry standard. At over $300 for 2 nights, inability to accommodate guest needs+snarky staff..cost doesn't warrant a return stay from us. read more

Stayed one night and it was nearly $200. Not worth the money in my opinion. I get it rooms usually are more expensive on the weekends but this is the holiday inn, not some fancy schmancy hotel. We stayed on the second floor. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything from people talking to opening and closing their doors. People walking on the 3rd level sound like buffalo walking around. The fire alarm went off TWICE, once around 4am and the other about an hour later due to smoke in the kitchen. Wtf? I can understand once, but twice? What the hell are you doing in the kitchen that's generating smoke? The room wasn't too bad, it was spacious and the bed/pillows were comfy. So, I reserved my room on HotWire the day I checked in and it was already bought, and paid for. So, I get to the hotel, the clerk behind the counter asks for my name and tells me that I'm booked for a two night stay. She was correct. However, then she proceeds to ask me to give her my ID and credit card, so that she could have it on file. Totally normal procedure at a hotel.... right? Well, like an idiot she charges my card $400!!!!!! I was already in the computer in their system!!!! The room was already purchased!!!! I didn't realize that she had charged my card until the next day when I took out some cash at the ATM. I was freaking out and the money wasn't put back onto my card until 5 days later. The breakfast there was ok, but the hotel is under alot of construction at the moment, so everyone kept tripping on the carpet while they were standing in line to get their breakfast. The curtains in the room are sheer and there are the only ones... if you're dressing or doing other activities, people can see you from the outside. The TV reception was pretty bad and the walls are a bit thin. It is not worth $200 a night, that's all I gotta say. read more

We booked a double room at an Advanced Purchase Price of $150 for a Saturday night post Spartan Race for January 2013 through their website back in June of 2012. Checking in and out was super fast and easy. The rooms were spacious and clean. Service was above average and we were very happy with our stay. The AC didn't work as well as I would have liked but there was plenty of hot water and no problems with the drains. The continental breakfast in the the morning was actually more than I thought they would offer so I was pleased. They had microwaved eggs and bacon, biscuit and gravy, an automatic pancake making machine, cinnamon rolls, bagels, English muffins and toast, yogurt and cold soft boiled eggs plus juice and coffee. Plenty of parking except if you come back late at night. Free parking and free Wi-fi always a plus. read more

And the most unsettling thing about out stay was that they are drug deals going on in the back of the hotel. We weren't even comfortable with parking my vehicle in the back parking lot where my room was located. Chose this hotel for the location and closely located food spots but definitely over priced for what you get. For a regular, chain hotel, this one is at the top. Area seems safe, with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Easy to get to off freeway. Really clean and modern. Staff was friendly and helpful. My room was on the freeway side, and noise usually keeps me awake, but it really wasn't an issue. No noise heard from the hall or rooms next to me. I didn't get to check out the pool. Breakfast buffet was yummy and well stocked. If I had to stay in the area again, I would definitely book here again. read more

It's fine, but in no way deluxe. The service was very nice, the rooms - not so much: older designs, not modern, bad pillows. The A/C was very loud, and seemed to have a mind of its own. At 130am, I was awakened by VERY loud people downstairs. After about 20 mins of the non-stop talking, I opened my window and yelled down at the cabbies, who continued to talk and talk. Thankfully, the front desk did something to break them up after I called them. The location is good, just off the freeway...and a mile or so to everything fun: downtown, and then the base of the stores on the way to the wineries. I didn't eat the breakfast buffet: so no comment negative or postive. One thing I didn't like, and it's still unresolved after about 6 weeks: I booked my stay on travelocity, and the hotel will not, therefore, award me Holiday Inn reward points. I walked into this hotel being one of my fav hotels down here and ask for a room facing Jefferson Street politely . The other side faces freeway and its to loud hearing the freeway all night. She said there were no rooms facing Jefferson. Then I said I don't believe you then the manager Yesenia came out and aggressive giving me a very evil stare and said no we don't have rooms facing Jefferson then gaslit me with a evil stare . I cannot tell you how clutch and accommodating this hotel staff was for my fiancé and myself, back in April. After a quick trip to Oceanside, I had to attend an old friend's wedding in Temecula. Like a bone head, I didn't realize that my check-in time was the same time as the wedding... As we were driving there, we called and explained our situation and the nice young lady at the front desk allowed us to check-in a few hours early to avoid a stressful situation. I had to stay here on extremely short notice. Mold developed in my house from a negligent company flooding my wood floors and I needed a safe place to stay. My insurance company made the reservation for me at the Holiday Inn Express. The room was quiet, clean, smelled great and was conveniently located to a variety of places to eat. My kids and I enjoyed the continental breakfast. I was even able to pack them school lunches there. The pool was clean and nobody else used it. I must say my favorite part of the hotel stay was the shampoo. They use Bath and Body works products which normally make me cringe as an allergy sufferer. However, the shampoo smells like fresh oranges and never made me sneeze. I will miss that shampoo! It was awful to be displaced from my home, but the staff was very welcoming and accomodating. The hotel is nice there's a small gym open 24 hours, pool open from 8am to 10pm. Laundry room also open 24 hours dispensers for detergent empty so just go to front desk prices are 2.00 for both dryer and washer time is about an hour. They have breakfast and room service or something you could order the pizza we orders was good so I do recommend that. There is a range of food to pick from the hotel also walking distance is not far at all there's a Wendy's, in-n-out, Arby's, and more of restaurant type places. Oh yeah and a Starbucks at the corner, right of the hotel. Usually the cleaning is very early but I left at 10am walk to the park, which was farther than I though, came back around 1 the room was still the same so I waited a while till 2 and finally some one came so I went to Wendy's for about 30mins (number 9 grilled chicken very exquisite well ) came back she was done so I time around that time next day she came at 2 again I guess it different for every room ? My expectations would be a three even if I knew I was going into a flawless facility. I will say they have a great happy hour, and I do enjoy breakfast here.
