Stayed here on a business trip for a couple days. The hotel is very decent. The rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast spread was nice. The only bad thing is that the rooms towards the back face the freeway which can be very congested and noisy. But other than that no real complaints. read more

Stayed here because I was attending a wedding in the area. First off, $221 for a Holiday Inn is a bit over the top. I've stayed in 4 star hotels for half that price. But whatever, I ate the cost because I had to at the time. So the property is conveniently located off the freeway and near various eateries and Old Town Temecula. Hotel room was clean, spacious and orderly. They provide a keurig w/various coffees and teas which is nice. You also get a "complimentary" breakfast downstairs. The two negatives I had were one: the elevator took forever to reach the requested floor. It must be really old but I felt like I aged a good 5 years each time I had to wait for it. Secondly, at 5am I was woken by the blazing bright sun in my face. There was no sleeping in. The room doesn't come equipped with drapes of any sort. The sheer white curtains were no match for the rising sun. So if you like to sleep in, don't take a room alongside the fwy.‍ I've never stayed at a hotel w/no drapes. Would I stay here again? Probably not unless all other local hotels were completely booked.‍ read more

I would give zero stars if possible! Beware the Advanced Purchase rate!! It's non-cancellable and non-refundable. I am appalled that they have this policy. Because of this policy, we had to stay at this location. I booked this hotel through hotels.com a month ago. We drove about 2 hours to Temecula for a wine tasting trip. When we arrived, we were told that they were overbooked and did not have any available rooms! WTF? I booked a month in advance and pre-paid in order for them to sell my room? To make things worse, the front desk lied and deceived me by telling me they saved a room at La Quinta nearby for us. They apologized and told us we would get the room at no additional charge. He told us that it was a brand new hotel and normally costs $120 a night so we would get a great deal by staying there for no extra charge. We were mad but decided to try that place out since we were exhausted from driving and wine tasting. We arrived at La Quinta to find out that it was 4 years old and not new at all! The room they gave us was for disabled/handicapped people and reeked! Terrible room! I called hotels.com to complain and they told us to call Holiday Inn to get a refund. I spoke to the manager at the Holiday Inn to find that he had no customer service skills and did not care we were unsatisfied. He only offered a 50% discount for this inconvenience! I want to give this 5 stars, I really do. It is in a great location, right by the freeway, by several gyms, by the big grocery store and Daphne's Greek Cafe....It is lighter in color than the local Hampton where I usually stay at, which makes the room cheerier. The bed is super comfy and I like the controls on the ac/heater. AND, they have free wireless acess. HUGE bonus. However, two major problems. 1) First an most importantly, I could not get the shower hot enough. Major hotel fail. 2) The PPV movie thing is some weird machine you have to stick your credit card in. I don't understand this and it frightens me. However, I think I would stay here again instead of the Hampton. The Hampton rooms are kinda dark and dreary. read more

Another lo-rent motel for Sarah B.? Yeah, so what of it? Judge me if you must but when the price is right, the price is right. Besides, this motel is a step up on the chain simply because it is in a wine country-resort location. Clean, clean rooms, comfy beds (which boast four pillows--two firm, two soft--ahh), and a friendly staff. I could tell you about the pretty decent complimentary breakfast or the outdoor pool/hot tub combo but what really gives this joint it's 4th star is one thing and one thing only...the holy grail of hotel rooms: an independent vanity table with good lighting! I cannot tell you how difficult it is to primp and preen in a hotel room with poor lighting and nowhere to lay out your curling iron and makeup brushes! A space set aside in the room just for us ladies to get ready? With a chair and lighting that keeps you from looking like Bozo the Clown? Yes, Yes, Yes! For me, (and yes, I realize this makes me a bit crazy, but I take my beauty routine seriously) this little amenity makes all the difference in an out-of-town stay. We got a room for 2 nights here for super cheap on priceline. Let's just the amount we paid per night rhymes with nifty, bifty, difty... You get it. Pluses: Free wi-fi Free parking Free breakfast (cereal, omlets, cinnamon buns, muffins, biscuits and gravy, etc) About 5 minutes from Old Town Temecula Maybe 10-15 minutes from the main winery strip Minus: Right next to the freeway. Holiday Inn saved the weekend for us! BF and I were hotel-less after cancelling our 3-night reservation last minute at a nearby hotel due to unforseen circumstances. We were in town for a wedding and found out someone from the wedding party had canceled her reservation at Holiday Inn earlier in the week. Holiday Inn was completely booked a month in advance but I called the front desk the day we needed the room to see if there were any rooms available in the wedding room-block. Hallelujah there was 1 room for us! The lady who answered my call was so nice and very patient with me throughout the process. AND she even gave us the wedding room-block rate without me asking! Room was pretty standard, nothing special but it's Holiday Inn, not the Ritz Carlton. Also the windows on the first floor are heavily tinted so you can't see inside the rooms from the outside. AC and heater worked perfectly fine, and they provided us a large empty fridge for our alcohol and chasers. We had forgotten toothpaste and the front desk lady was very nice in not only giving me toothpaste but offered floss and mouthwash as well. Complimentary hot breakfast every morning until 10am. The dining room was just steps away from our room. They had a pancake maker, bagels, scrambled eggs (with cheese smothered in them though, ugh), cereal, cinnamon rolls, toast, coffee, sausage, biscuits and gravy, hard boiled eggs, yogurt. Not bad for Holiday Inn! Check-out is at noon which was great! And nice location too... Arbys and In n Out are right next door! I'd consider coming back if we were in Temecula again. read more

We were woken in our room at 2:40am because we left our dog in the car. The front desk guy said we had to pay a $250 cleaning fee to bring the dog in, or leave the hotel immediately. When we went to the front desk to discuss the situation, they claimed that we were abusing our dog by having her in the car. We argued that they did not allow dogs, and that we she she had water, food, and a bed, nor was she barking or upsetting any guests. It is not animal endangerment to let your dog sleep in your car--we adore our dog and would NEVER mistreat her, but we knew we could not bring her into the hotel (I had called before we checked in and was told by a different desk person that they did not allow pets at all). Eventually we called the police because the employees would not let down: either pay the fine and bring her in, or leave immediately. Shortly after, two police officers arrived and explained to the front desk staff that it was not animal endangerment to leave the dog in the car to sleep. At that point the desk staff explained we could stay the night with the dog left in the car, leave, or pay the $250 fine to bring her in. At no point did the staff ever apologize for their mistake, issue a refund, or refer us to a manager who could help mediate. They initially refused to give us a copy of our contract, would not do a room inspection when we requested it (so that we would not later get a $250 fine), nor would they refund us the night's stay. Disgusted, we departed the hotel at 3am. I've stayed in a many hotels throughout the years, and I have never been treated so poorly. If I made an accusation like that to a customer, and was informed correctly by an officer of the law, I would be on my knees begging forgiveness. The situation was over the top, and I cannot in good faith say anything good about my experience. read more

I've booked here for Friday night 7/28 for a wedding on Saturday and arrived to check in a little after 3pm. Ladies at the desk were very professional. Showed id and credit card and signed guest paper and that was it. Less than 5 minutes I was off to my room. I had double beds in room 107 on the first floor double beds. Walked in and the room was clean and the AC was on blowing cold air. Room and bathroom and rug was modern and very neat and clean. The room had a microwave, mini fridge and a keurig. This room was nice and got to say it was much better and a bit bigger than some of the rooms in vegas. Beds and pillows were comfy. Swimming pool on the first, a little gym on the 2nd. Right next door is a Wendys, In and out burger and Arby's. You can just walk right over. Overall my stay was good. I would stay here again if need be. Cons: Tv channels are not all great. Had the local and news channels. Didn't mind but still should have better channels. read more

Super clean, well-appointed rooms, brand new amenities, nicely decorated. Unbelievable for the price ...$85.00. To expand a bit on this I need to tell you the scenario. We found ourselves in Temecula after being there all day moving my horses to a new location. We were tired, dirty, and needed to be back in Temecula first thing in the morning. The logical solution was to book a room and just shower, go to bed, and get up first thing already being in Temecula. But this has happened before with less than good results based upon our hotel choices. Let me say that I will stay at Holiday Inn Express from now on.The staff was expedient when i called for a reservation (at about 9 pm!) and gave me their rates, when i asked about a AAA lower price i got one, about 10 bucks off but it all counts, right? :) Then when we finally arrived at 10:30 the check in was painless, quick, and we were in our sparkling clean and quiet room in about 3 minutes. The room smelled nice (as did the lobby, they have some kind of diffuser that has a nice scent!), was clean and comfy, and we were able to warm it up quickly seeing as it was freezing outside and we were cold and tired. The bed wasn't too hard or too soft and had enough pillows and blankets to keep up comfortable. Usually we have to call for another pillow or two because there aren't enough in most hotels. Breakfast the next day was amazing, Mini omelettes, DELICIOUS hot cinnamon rolls, the best hotel coffee i've EVER had. And flavored creamer, that's important. It's the little things that count and let me tell you they did GREAT. We will definitely stay again! Book with confidence. read more

Not bad at all. It took us a long time to find a hotel around that area that didn't force a 2 night stay. We only needed a room to come back and crash in after wine tasting and partying at Pechanga (which was booked) so when we found this for the price, we pounced. The good news was the Grapeline picks up there which was convenient, and their continental breakfast was far superior to almost any I've ever had...pancake machine, mini omelets, sausage patties, cereal, bagels, muffins...far surpassed the typical fruit and stale toast usually offered at these kinds of places. The room itself was just fine for what we wanted it for. 4 of us were comfortable in it...decent size for a room with 2 beds in it. Air Conditioner worked great. Bathroom was nothing fancy, but clean enough. Also had a fridge and microwave in it....which we didn't use, but lots of people like to have those. I'd much rather stay at Pechanga or the Mariott in the area, but for a cheaper room where we just need to sleep, I'd definitely book again. read more

Decent value for the money. Location was close to where we needed to be. Breakfast is convenient. Room was clean. My only complaint was the toilet wouldn't flush and we had to ask them to come fix it every single day. The 3rd time we asked, they didn't even come to the room and waited until we checked out. Fortunately we were right across from the bathrooms next to the breakfast area on the first floor, but it's pretty inconvenient to not have a functioning toilet in your room. I even told the lady at the front desk this was the third time we had asked since we arrived and she said she would look at our reservation (?). Not sure what that fixed. I ended up here when I went to court for my work and had to stay over to be on the stand the next day. Totally unexpected. The attorneys booked me into the Holiday Inn Express and offI went, no suitcase in hand. They were really understanding, helped me out with supplies, got me into a good room, and everything wenht off without a hitch. They havea really decent free breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express locations and while it is not even close to gourmet, it is WAAAAY better than paying for the same quality food elsewhere. I am an IHG member so when I stay at Holiday Inns all over the place, they usually hook me up with a goodie bag at check in. Temecula is an up and coming location for fne wines, and if you want to do your wine tasting on the cheap, this is a good place to stay with all the amenities. WiFi was free, but I didn't get to use it. I used the exercise room, which I found was a little crowded, but still got a good workout. read more

We stayed here during a world of wine event. Upon walking into the room, it reeked of some type of air freshener used to cover up the smell of someone smoking. By this I mean cheap, 1980s motel smell. It was so bad we had to open up the window. When we asked to change rooms, they said they were booked. This was a horrible hotel visit for me. I requested a quiet room with my reservation and again upon check-in, but was assigned a room adjacent to the freeway (when I say adjacent, I mean very, very, very close). The noise was absolutely awful and kept me awake almost the entire night. I was told the next morning that the rooms on the opposite side are given out first come, first served so that's why I wasn't given a room on the quiet side. Mind you, I didn't even check-in that late, it was only 7 p.m. on a Friday evening. The noise issue was by far my biggest complaint with my stay and there is no way in hell I would ever risk getting a room that close to the freeway again. I'm not exaggerating too badly by saying it sounded like being right next to an airport all night. If you have problems with noise and going to sleep, then DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! The second issue I had was that my room got jammed shut which I did not find out until I arrived late on the second night. The guy at the front desk had to push the door open for me. What this meant for me was that housekeeping did not clean my room that day which was annoying. Needless to say, I will never, ever stay here again and I really don't recommend taking the risk of getting put in a room on the freeway side of the hotel. read more

Checked into the Holiday Inn Express at 1pm, two hours before check in. They were very accommodating and allowed us to do an early check in with little fuss. I appreciated that. The hotel looked fairly new or renovated and was more contemporary than most budget hotels I would suppose. The room was nice in size, very clean and the bathroom boasted large wooden vanity and granite counter tops. There was maybe a 45" flat screen and there was a nice assortment of cable channels. The free breakfast however sucked ass! The room is neat and clean and the set up is nice (for a budget hotel) but the eggs aren't real, the gravy ha pork in it (because of course no one doesnt eat pork) there was ONLY bacon as a meat option and there was only butter and jelly for the toast, bagels and english muffins. (No cream cheese) Over all don't expect to enjoy your breakfast unless you enjoy fake eggs and pork products. read more

You have to read the fine print (and I didn't). That rate is non-cancellable and non-refundable. So, even though our plans changed, we didn't have the option to cancel. I think most people book directly with the hotel to enjoy maximum flexibility. This hotel appears nice on the outside, but is a rundown inside. The first room to which I was assigned, smelled musty and dank. The staff assigned me to another room, in which the floor felt moist as did the bed linen. I was uncomfortable going barefoot on the carpet. Nevertheless, I was exhausted from my travels so I capitulated. The room began to smell heavily of marijuana and I don't smoke. The halls reeked of it and when I complained, the front desk agent stated casually that it's legal here "so what can you do?" with a nonchalant smile. I was thankful that this was my last of two nights here. I woke up startled at 5:15am to a fire alarm. My daughters and I quickly gathered our purses and raced down the stairs. We entered through the front door to find out what was happening only to be told that it was a false alarm. Wish someone had informed us before we came down in our pajamas. The elevator was old and rickety. The walls were a chipped hospital grey and the door to the room seemed flimsy at best. I was very dissatisfied with my stay here and I would not under any circumstances recommend this hotel. I think in light of the beautiful location, they could benefit from a complete remodel and some staff training. read more

I have had to stay here several times on business trips. You know what? It's a pretty comfortable spot. The rooms are nice enough. The staff is friendly. Actually, pretty helpful. The best part though, really good breakfast. Most places give a few bagels, danish, and call it "Continental." This place offers eggs, actual bacon, pancakes, cereal, biscuits + gravy, and lots of juices. Plus, free cookies in the lobby. All in all, it's a nice to come back to after a long day of meetings. read more

The hotel was pretty solid. I only had two complaints. The wifi was super slow. This was a major problem because I was not able to check out the newest cat videos on Youtube. The second problem was the free citrus lotion in the bathroom. It has the tendency to burn certain orifices if you rub it on there too long. I get it, they want to keep the sheets clean by discouraging that kind of behavior. But you gotta admit, that's kind of a mean way to do it. I would stay here again, but I will be sure to bring my own bottle of Walgreens brand hand lotion. P.S. The free HBO is a super bonus! I watched Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants last night. They have a "BOOK EARLY AND SAVE" that DOES NOT EXPLAIN that if you choose this option your reservation is NON-REFUNDABLE even if you cancel. I have stayed here at least 20 times. It's an excellent Holiday Inn with friendly helpful staff. The rooms are clean and nice. I've stayed there over a week at a time. I lost something and they reimbursed me because the housekeeper threw it out (I thought) I found the item later and paid them back. This is a friendly homey place. read more

Loved our stay. Clean bathrooms and room. Non smoking is just that. No hint of cover up on old cigarette smoke. Beautifully decorated. Courteous helpful staff. Beds so comfortable I slept the best I have in a long time. Great choices for breakfast but get there early. Some people really help themselves. Snacks available with a Wendy's next door. Convience to some smaller restraunts. Only ten minutes from promenade for shopping. Close enough to Casino. Stop by Old town five minutes away, we did and enjoyed ourselves. Great stay ! read more
