I hate to write these kind of negative reviews for small businesses in the neighborhood, but this place sucks! Yup, all the negative reviews are true! Brought some clothing a couple of weeks ago and they returned it the same as I brought them. Their response was: California is limiting the usage of stronger cleaning solutions for their cleaning methods! They lost my mom's business since she's the one who actually uses this service. It was ready by 3 pm on Monday. Three dresses, one jacket, and 1 pair of jeans to be shortened with the original hem. It came out to $40, which is awesome. The staff is really nice and not uptight. In addition, they said if the jeans don't fit well I can bring it back and they'll fix it for no extra charge. I've had bad hemming done before, so I can vouch for this place and say that they do it right. read more

This is my local dry cleaners. Coming here is sort of like living in the Andy Griffith show. I see some of the employees randomly during the day on Sunset or Echo Park Ave and they always wave and say, "hi". I notice other people in the neighborhood just hanging out and shooting the breeze with the lady behind the counter as she grabs the business man his shirts and the security guard his uniform. All the employees are nice and usually I can get everything I want done within the same day or the next day. They also have a pretty good price on fluff and fold. I will admit to have seen cheaper but I have also seen it way more expensive. (There comes a certain point in your life where you recognize that time is money. For some dollars more than you'd pay at the laundromat you can have loads of laundry done for you while you slave your days away at work. This service isn't for everyone but I swear by it.) If you live in Echo Park, this is your best bet for dry cleaning. Look for the man with the mustache and the pink shirt who is giving you a little wink. read more

I'm here every week to drop off and pick up my clothes. They are super reliable and can usually accommodate a rush request. Really love that I can walk here. Took in thousands of dollars worth of clothes because they're just across the corner from where I live... not only did they not get the spots I told them to get out, nothing was ready on time even when I picked them up on Saturday (I was told it would be ready on Wednesday). They ruined 70% of the clothes I brought in, broke a button on a shirt, stained more than 6 pairs of $300 jeans. Countless shirts came back with stains that weren't present when I took it in. This is beyond irritating. Take your business elsewhere. This place is shit, complete shit, dirty as fuck inside and crap attitude+service. read more

I have tried, I really have. I used to go to (and am about to go again) the cleaners at the corner of Silver Lake and Sunset. I switched, wanting something closer to home and they have lost several of my clothing items. I went in once without a ticket, and they could not find my items. (They don't use a computer unlike the folks down Sunset.) I thought, maybe it's my fault. Maybe I forgot and picked these items up. Well, I found the ticket and went in for that last batch and another I had dropped off last week and they could find neither batch. It took them 20 minutes to find the most recent batch WITH a ticket. I am sorry folks. You are friendly and I appreciate the discount you gave me, but you are losing my clothing. I will give you an opportunity to redeem yourself and if you do I will happily change my review. Having said that, they are fast and when I do get my clothing back I have never had problems with quality. :-( read more

The worst job ever! My shirts came back more dirty then I left them I brought them back still in the plastic. To show them and they told me. They came in dirty. I cannot give this place any more business. Hollyway Cleaners used to be my favorite local dry cleaner. They are fast, friendly, and pretty reasonably priced. However, they have some major quality control problems that have freaked me out several times. They just don't check their work. SEVERAL times I've taken shirts home that looked ok at a glance in the Hollyway shop, but then I realized that they had big hard wrinkles like right on the chest of the garment. Two times I noticed this on the way to an interview - as if I didn't have enough things freaking me out on those mornings. Hollyway lost me as a customer last week. I finally got a new job and I had a bunch of shirts and ties dry cleaned at Hollyway. I was in a rush one morning to get ready for work when I noticed that one of my ties had been pressed incredibly badly and was deformed. Seriously, the guy who did it must have been blind. I have a couple of shirts that only go with that tie. The other shirts that I could wear with other ties were dirty and needed to be cleaned. It was 5am and I had to leave so I wore a dirty shirt to work and hoped no one would notice. I have given Hollyway so many chances so I brought the tie back to them and pointed out their error. The lady apologized and told me to pick it up the next day. I couldn't go the next day so my girlfriend did it for me. Guess what - the tie was pressed in some other horribly wrong way! I'm not even that picky but the tie just looked awful! That was the last straw. I'm tired of taking stuff back to Hollyway twice. Many of my friends recommended Regency up the street. Those people really take pride in their work - they double check every garment and generally give a damn. Get your act together, Hollyway Cleaners. read more

Took a few pieces here and some were cleaned well and others were not. When I pointed some spots out, they said they tried their best. I do believe them because they do look better... but I took them to another place and they were able to get them out. So not sure what they did differently. Overall, decent service at market rate, But may just stick to my usual cleaners though it's further away. read more

DESTROYED $400 CASHMERE BLANKET!!! I've lived a few blocks away in Echo Park since 1988. I'd never gone here. I've always gone to Classic Cleaners (the BEST) in Silverlake, across from Trader Joe's. I was busy, was in haste, and brought our $400 cashmere blanket here. I did NOT read the Yelp reviews before going--biggest mistake of my life! I parked...as I entered, I thought, "Ewwwww, filthy!" The parking lot was cleaner than their lobby! They have no computer, just hand-wrote a receipt with my last name and a phone #--I didn't even see them write what I'd left! I came back a week later and...Oh. Dear. God. In. Heaven. First, the fellow at the counter said, "What does it look like?" I was stunned. He had my receipt in his hand. Don't they know how to match receipts? I said, "It was a cashmere queen-sized blanket, a kind of hazelnut or butter yellow." He went off to look for it. He came back with a TRASH BAG containing my DIRTY BLANKET--it appeared they'd done nothing to clean it because it was completely pilled and covered in cat hair (we have 3 fur babies), as it had been when I left it. But worse...IT WAS LIKE BOILED WOOL! "WTF DID YOU DO TO MY $400 CASHMERE BLANKET!!!" I didn't even think it was MINE! I didn't recognize it! BOILED WOOL! LIKE A BRILLO PAD!!! The blanket had been cloud soft!!!! A woman behind the counter came over and confronted me. "Who brought this here, your mother?" I looked at her in astonishment. She was the one who had originally written my receipt. "No, I brought it." "Oh. $30." I handed the money over just to cut my losses and get out of there. I kept repeating, "It's filthy! It's covered in cat hair. What did you do? You didn't clean it, you just fried it!!!" She handed $10 back in "compensation" for destroying the blanket. I drove from there IMMEDIATELY over to Classic Cleaners. I told them what had happened. They said, "It's because they put it in the dryer." I guess that's a biiiiiig no-no for a blanket!!! I realize now that they just put whatever you bring in into their dryer and toss in a "Dry Cleaners Secret." Well, heck, I can destroy my own blanket at home like that for less than $30!!! Contrast Classic Cleaners. Spotless interior. They have everything computerized. You give your phone # and your account comes up. You get a printed, detailed receipt. When you return, you can give your phone # or the receipt--it's all on the computer. You don't have to "describe what you left" because they just match up the receipt with the item (i.e., can we say, "organized"? Like, they're running a BUSINESS?) AND you get a receipt when you leave, too. The blanket not only was presented to me IMMACULATE--not a single hair or pill--but somehow they managed to soften it, too, although not entirely. AND it was beautifully folded in a special zippered plastic blanket carrier, with a handle. $35. You get what you pay for. read more

Awful dry cleaners. They are nice enough people but they do a terrible job. I brought in a wool blanket. It had all of this pet hair on it when I picked it up. This place gets two stars for price and friendliness. Their work is not reliable. I've seen them take clothes to wash at the orange laundromat on Sunset in a grocery cart. My problem with that is I thought they were a dry cleaners operation. I took my down comforter there to be dry cleaned. It came back flat and the down feathers all in clumps in their squares. I've never had that problem at Regency where I used to go before they burned down. I've also had black sweaters returned to me discolored and faded. read more

Do not go here for fluff and fold. They do not put names on it so when I went to pick up I found out they had given my clothes to someone else. When I said they needed to retrieve my clothes they first gave me a hard time saying they knew who they gave my clothes to and they would talk to her later I said that was unacceptable and I needed my clothes back ASAP. Then they insulted me and told me my clothes weren't worth that much anyway. I eventually got my clothes back a day later but seriously who gives your clothes away to another person to take home? read more

Sorry, But they suck!! i have gone there 2 times for SIMPLE alterations and both times they completely ruined my clothing. Once I needed a hem let DOWN on a pair of pants. i was very clear about it because of the possible language misunderstanding. sure enough they did the opposite and shortened the paints and cut off all the extra material so there was nothing that could be done, So now I have gauchos instead of pants. A year latter I brake down and go again to have a vintage denim vest taken in. again not a big deal. i try it on, they mark it etc... same thing.. now I cant even button it and they again cut all the material off so there is nothing that be done!! Incredible! Not Cool. unhappy with them! they have cost me money in both cases. And yeah, the good one burned down. they were great. did great alterations every time with no problems..Gee wonder who burnt them down? (just kidding) good luck with your dry cleaning. read more

AVOID!!!!! this place. They ruined my $250 black cardigan. It came back a faded brownish color and it continues to fade. I have no idea what they used on it but I have sent it to other cleaners and never had this problem. AVOID!!!!!!! You have been warned. read more
