Clean 'n Save lost a longstanding customer today. I paid to have a pair of shorts hemmed along with multiple clothes for dry cleaning. When I got home, the shorts weren't with the rest of my dry cleaning. I returned but they couldn't find the shorts and refused to admit they lost them. They then refused to give me store credit for the cost of the shorts or even credit for the hem they charged me for despite losing the shorts that they hemmed. I guess their business sense told them that a longstanding customer (who has spent thousands of dollars there) was trying to scam them for store credit so it was best to refuse my claim and lose me as a customer. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. read more

Have been going to this dry cleaner since we moved to Silverlake three years ago. Run by the nicest people, prices are the best in the area, especially considering they get out stains that other cleaners could not get out. When they couldn't get a stain out of a faux fur vest that I had dropped off, the owners called in a specialist and didn't even charge me extra. (They got out the stain). They're happy to expedite for no extra charge when you're in a rush and the alterations have always been excellent. Couldn't recommend a place more! read more

I've been coming to Clean'n Save for over 15 years, and have had nothing but a pleasant experience every time. The owners are super nice people, and have always had my dry cleaning or press ready on time. If I've needed something done right away, they've always accommodated and gotten it done. My wife has been using them even longer than I have, and she loves bringing in her dresses and work clothes for dry cleaning. Came here for the first time cause I go the Pilates studio next door. Dropped off 2 tops and a skirt. $5 each. When I picked up my clothes, there's a visible stain on my top that was not there when I dropped it off. When i asked about the stain they insisted that it was there when I dropped it off. I know for a fact that it wasn't because I was going to have them dry clean a dress that did have a stain and they put a red sticker on it to mark the stain. They didn't do that to the top because there was no stain. Needless to say I'm not coming back. They lost a customer. read more

I've come here off and on for sometime. Usually they do a fine job. This last clean I asked them to reclean an item that still had stains on it. When I came to pick it up they said they couldn't remember cleaning the item originally and recharged me for the cleaning. They argued with me about it to the point where I gave up and just paid for it. If you enjoy being charged twice for an item that still has stains on it, this is your spot. read more

You know the saying, "You get what you pay for,"? Well this is the place. They are cheap, and pretty quick but nonetheless they RIPPED my shirt and then tried to say that I brought it in that way. I think not... I had to argue with the woman until she finally agreed to pay me for the shirt but also pointed out that if it was expensive she was not paying for it (though they ripped it). No harsh chemicals AND fair prices? Unbelievable! But it's true! I USED to get my dry cleaning done down the street until I read the reviews for this place. Why did I switch? Well, they weren't too friendly AND they were a little too pricey for their own good. What is more, every time I went in for my dry cleaning, I felt like I was going into a department store going through the cosmetic/perfume section with people trying to sell me stuff I didn't want or need! And before the other place, I used to go to this other VERY eco-friendly place in the heart of Hollywood (the lady that worked there ALL the time was very sweet and friendly), but I got tired of having to deal with the insane traffic, especially after a long day at work. BASTA! NO MORE! So, I spent the last few months looking for a fairly eco-friendly dry cleaners without having to pay an arm and a leg and that wasn't far. What is more, I wanted friendly service. Who wants to go to the cleaners expecting a bad encounter? Not me. The other place was kind of snappy. Here, the people are very gentle and friendly. They really put me at ease. I like that. :) More importantly, whenever I get my my clothes cleaned there, they feel clean, soft, and they smell pleasant--a lot like the old Snuggly commericial. I am happy with the service at Clean'n Save. It's also helpful to know that they gladly take old hangers. OH, and one more thing. They have a private lot that usually has parking available. You can either enter through the Hyperion side or the Griffith Park Blvd side. When traffic is crazy on Hyperion, I take Griffith Park Blvd. Hooray! My search is over! This place is fantastic! Prices are fair. One time i brought in like 9 items (2-3 of which were winter jackets) and i paid under $40 for everything! Dry Cleaning is high quality and the turnaround is fast. I trust them with my nicest clothes, and stains that i never thought would come out just seem to disappear after i bring them here! The ladies that work at Clean n' Save are always helpful and friendly. There are many many dry cleaning services in the Silver Lake neighborhood, some even walking distance from my house, but i am happy to drive to to this place! First of all don't go here. Second if you don't listen to this review and you still go here, COUNT AND CHECK ALL YOUR ITEMS. Label any blankets with your name before you drop them off. Third, if you still don't heed this warning, and you go here, INSPECT all your returning items in the store BEFORE you pay for the cleaning... They often run my card before they collect and return the clothes (a tricky practice, no?) and today they were trying to pass off and charge me for cleaning a dress they had completely ruined worth $400 from Barney's. It went in looking great and came out covered in white fuzz -- like old sweatpants. They said they "couldn't" reverse the charge for cleaning that I hadn't yet signed for, they claimed that the dress came in damaged, and only offered me a $30 coupon for future cleanings I bring in thousands of dollars of dry cleaning each year, so I am done with this business. Also, in the past they'd lost a brand new king-sized down comforter when (after I brought it in to be cleaned by them in the spring) they sent me back home unbeknownst to me with another person's cheap synthetic poly-filled comforter. I didn't notice for a couple months till I took it out of closet so I assumed there was no recourse for that $300 error of theirs. Since then I've checked every order. Today, I expected them to have a simple process of reimbursing me for a damaged item. It seems like that would be a standard course of action. However they were on the offensive, denied any errors on their part, wouldn't reimburse me for even the cost of "cleaning" the dress and then tried to placate me with a meager discount for future cleanings. I never thought I was going to write a bad review of this place. But after taking my shirts and cleaning here for years, I went to pick up my shirts that were left for wash and press and was told that the cost was $5.50 per shirt. I have been paying $2.95 per shirt for quite a while. When I asked why they were charging $5.50, I was told that all ten of the shirts needed to be hand finished. The shirts were not in any different condition than they always were when I dropped them off and were not finished any better. They did not need nor receive any special finishing. There is nothing special about my shirts. They are simple J.Crew outlet striped and plaid shirts that cost $15-$20 and can best be described as casual. When I pointed out that I have been taking the same shirts there for six years and was never charged anywhere near that amount, all I got was a shrug. Then another customer walked in and was also told that HIS shirts were going to be $5.50 because they also needed to be hand finished. Like me, he was not a new customer and was shocked. There are about five different cleaners within a mile of this place, but I go to Clean n' Save because they have an efficient computer system that allows them to start digging out your cleaning the minute you walk in the door. Also, you can eliminate plastic dry cleaning bags from your life by using one of their $10 reusable dry cleaning covers. Their on-site seamstress (I think her name is Mary) will do just about any alteration you might need, and if she doesn't think she can do it, she'll come right out and tell you. Finally, I once left $450 cash in a pocket (long story) and they called me immediately to come pick it up! read more

This review is strictly for a wedding dress. They are fine for regular clothes, but DO NOT take a wedding dress there for cleaning/preservation. The day I picked the cleaned dress up, I did not have the time to check every inch of the dress over, but I really wish I would have. I saw that they got the dirt off the hem, and figured everything else was fine, since there were no other stains when I took it in. On further inspection (much later) i discovered they had left a small but very visible pen mark on the upper back, let the paint get chipped off the zipper pull during cleaning, and pressed the back improperly so the detail work is trashed. This would all be merely disappointing except that I'm now ready to sell the dress, and those are the kinds of imperfections that deeply impact the resale value. It's the carelessness that really bothers me. I worked at a dry cleaner for 2 years; you have to be detail oriented or you end up with unhappy customers. Like me. read more
