Beware!!! When there with my BMW and not only did I feel and treated poorly their prices were awful. I asked for a quote on my car and he did not even look up the prices and quoted me $1,600 and even BMW only wanted $1,100. I went someone else and got the work done for under $500. I feel I discriminated against, treated poorly and thought I was a fool. NEVER GO THERE since there are so many better and cheaper places that good excellent work. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

2nd time getting oil change here last week , first time was last year 2020 around same time , I thought it was me that maybe I ran in to something because my engine shield came off , while driving . Got it fix had to order the plastic bolt for the shield so it can hold. So like I said this was my 2nd time and 2 days later my engine shield fell off while I was driving again!! I'm not sure it the auto technician are being lazy and not properly putting the shield back after oil changing, I'm not sure what's going on!! but after putting the shield back the first time it never came off after ,but then all of a sudden after bringing it there my shield fell off again!! The manager needs to check on his technician. I definitely won't go back here!! I don't recommend this place for oil change !! read more

On June 19 my driver side window stopped rolling up in my 1999 Honda accord. It was 110° outside and the AC would not work because the window would not roll up. I called AAA and they recommended Hollywood Auto Service as one of their auto repair shop providers. I called the shop and the manager answered the phone. And told me they would order me a new window regulator that afternoon. He asked me to come in on Friday morning at 8 AM which I did. I arrived promptly at 8 AM. They got right on it and did a FABULOUS job, repairing my driver side window in an hour and a half time frame. They charged me a fair price (the same price he told me over the phone the day before,) and I was on the road by 10 AM. I highly recommend this automotive service company to any person who has car trouble. They are listed as a top shop for AAA over the last four out of five years and they had 10 years of Better Business Bureau stickers on their door. I have used Hollywood Auto several times over the years and they were always pleasant to work with and financially fair. Recently my engine light came on and a diagnostic indicated it was old spark plugs and they can be expensive for my car. But, when I told RICK THE OWNER what was going on and what the diagnostic indicated he informed me that it actually might be another issue, far more expensive. YIKES! Rick gave me a ride home (I live nearby) after I dropped my car and when I called him later in the day I expected something well above $300.00 Instead, he had found it was only old hoses. I knew I needed to replace them and of course, I had meant to...famous last words. HE COULD HAVE EASILY TOLD ME THAT --- He had to replace the hoses, sparkplugs, and the other things he'd given me a heads up about. I am so grateful for his fairness and in today's world, his kindness. Like so many of us, I am not at a time in my life where I can afford large unexpected costs. Heard/read good reviews, but had never encountered this establishment. So i decided to take my chances... On a Tues I scheduled appt on line for my vehicle to be worked on that Fri. Made arrangements with a coworker to meet me there after I discussed the issues/dropped off my vehicle. I arrive at the business at 6:50 am; it opens at 7 am. However, that day of my scheduled appointment, there is a handwritten sign posted on the door "Sorry for any inconvenience--went to high school reunion." Really? No phone call; no text; no email; nothing. It's his business, his choice. A little common courtesy would have made all the difference in the world. No desire to spend my $$$ there. After the inconvenience and inconsideration and utilizing a more professional establishment, my car now runs great no thanks to Hollywood Auto. read more

Went in for a brake job, they were very courteous and knowledgeable about any questions I had, they got me in the next day and got all of my brakes done. It turned out I needed a little more than I thought and had to get the rear tort done as well so they called and made sure I knew what was going on. ATTENTION Ladies and gentlemen. A basic review for Rick the owner of Hollywood and his entire crew is not enough. As a woman, I was petrified to call any automotive shop at this time when most businesses are price gouging as if it is acceptable because everyone else is doing it. Rick, the owner, listened carefully to translate what I thought was going on, he was so polite and genuinely interested in the challenge. This is a no BS man and treated me with respect even though I have a 2007 vehicle. Life stops without a car here in LV, they pulled my car right in to see what was going on. I am embarrassed to say, I threw money at two other "mechanics", to come to my house. NEVER AGAIN. Yes, the hourly rate is high for automotive work at a shop, but, I trust 100% that these qualified gentlemen have solved the problems in one day and went above and beyond what they actually charged me. I first took my cars to Hollywood Auto Service in 2010 and I was treated fairly and I have always been satisfied with their work. When I had trouble with my knees, the Manager, Rick drove me home and picked after my vehicle was done. So my car had been making a horrible squelching sound for a while and it was getting worse but I was worried about how much it would cost so I kept procrastinating on taking it anywhere. I found this shop since it's near my home and took a chance. What a wonderful experience! I walked in with no appointment, Rick took a quick look under my hood, told me what it would cost and within a couple of hours called and said it was done. I also had them do an oil change. The price didn't change (unlike other places that say they need to add this or do that, etc. ) and it was very reasonable. I would most definitely recommend this place for you car services!! I must say, I was not unimpressed at all by the professionalism in the office. However, price gouging and typical auto shop "recommend things you don't really need" unfortunately happened on this visit. Also, the inspection failed to catch a critical issue! For starters, their price for an oil change wasn't very good. This is originally what I came in for. They did give a free complementary inspection with it. Some shops will do this because they legitimately do want your car to be in top notch condition for you, but I feel like for this shop, that's just a segway into having you purchase more service. Here's where the visit got unpleasant. In their inspection, the following was discovered: -One of my serpentine belts was worn. I knew this. I was quoted upwards of $170 to replace it. -The transmission mount was broken. I didn't know this, but confirmed later. They quoted $400 to repair it. -I was told the rear brake pads were low. So for the belt, the price quote was somewhat hiked up. The part costs about $40 and the work takes a skill mechanic 30-45 minutes. In my case, I had 1 belt needed to be replaced (2 total, the worn one was "inside"). You should expect a service like this to cost no more than $80 for work and $40 per belt, but they quoted around $50 over. The transmission mount is where it gets ridiculous. Such a part only costs around $40-70, and takes no more than an hour to install. A reasonable price for this service is $120-150, not a price 2-3x greater. And finally, the brakes. I later measured the pads and found them to be 6mm. Most "new" brakes are 8-12mm. 6mm is maybe middle of the road as far as wornness goes for these brake pads, but those breaks still probably have upwards of 20-30k miles left to drive. Finally, I took my car to a 2nd shop and got a second opinion. There was a missed item which was critical. My coolant reservoir was cracked! Coolant was spraying out of the tank while the engine was hot. I was wondering why I kept losing coolant. I ultimately had this 2nd shop take care of that issue and my belt since their prices were a lot more reasonable. The transmission mount issue is pretty non-crucial and the breaks weren't even an issue, so I haven't acted on those, yet. Did I have a good and calm experience at this shop: The shop experience was good, actually. I was only angry later to find out how badly I was price gouged; really glad I didn't get the work done there. Dangerous, careless, and no regard for your life. They only care about $. Let me pay $2200 to fix a engine that had a cracked block which means it needs to be replaced. Tamir (owner) and Rick (manager) were supposed to make sure the car was safe to drive but all the ball joints are bad and my wheels could fall off at any time going down the highway. My steering rack is so jimmy rigged it literally has a CHISEL wedged in it to try to stop play in it and could have broken at any time leaving with a 4000 pound vehicle cruising down the highway with no steering. Instead of doing their job they only cared about $. They are dangerous, dishonest mechanics. read more
