I went to Hollywood Nails to get a basic manicure with a clear coat of polish. I have been to four other nail salons and have never had this bad of service. They were rude and my nails looked worse than when I came in. They cut my cuticle, which made my hand blead, and provided little to no sympathy over the matter. In addition to this, they barely filed down my nails. I have a crooked finger and small hands but I have never felt so shamed and belittled for something I cannot control. I am not a rude person but this is was completely unacceptable. They would only give $5 off of $20. I was overall very dissatisfied. read more

Okay so honestly I love this nail salon. I have been coming here since November 2019 for acrylics and I have few negative things to say. It only costs $35 for a full set with regular polish (I prefer it over gel because the gel makes the nail look fat and I can touch up my nails easy by purchasing the color I get my nails done) and only $15 for a refill which I get every two weeks. The only negatives that I've noticed are this: - they only have two people doing acrylics when there are five people waIting (even though there are more people/workers in the back) - the man who does acrylics I do NOT recommend. He is rough with your nails/hands and they come out all looking a little misshapen and painful/bloody (the little woman is worth the wait I promise) - a refill is only $15 but if you break a nail they up-charge (I have no issue with that BUT..) sometimes they will tell you it's an extra $5 for the broken nail and sometimes it's an extra $10, they need more consistency/clarity with how much a refill is with and without any broken nails. - they need much much more variety of colors for regular polish, it's mainly all reds and dark colors, nothing cute and pastel or girly. With that being said, I really enjoy this salon the woman who does my acrylics every time does a wonderful job and I am always very pleased by her work! I do recommend you try this place out if you have not before! UPDATE!! After reading other reviews it's clear they NEED MORE ACRYLIC NAIL TECHS and also that the MAN NAIL TECH DOES A HORRIBLE JOB AND SHOULD NOT BE ALOUD TO WORK THAT STATION. read more

Let me start my review with the positive: I have been going here for nails for 2 years on and off and have never had any problem; until today. I got a full gel set done by someone I'd never see before. Turns out he started working here 2 days ago. He was rude and kept ranting about how customers make his job so much harder by not relaxing their fingers when he does their nails. Tried to get me to pay 65 dollars for my set and that I was going to need 2 different kinds of nails for them to look good (what?). It took him about 30 mins to do a full set, and forgetting many steps I've seen his coworkers do when doing gel nails. No 2 nails look the same, and they are not flat, but pointed upwards. A Sunday afternoon. There were only two nail techs working. The overall quality of the full set with gel polish was okay. However, I was charged $40 dollars for short almond nails. The nail tech claimed it was $30 for full set and an extra 5 for shape. Then she changed her response to $35 for a full set and $5 extra for the shape. Either way the sign at the front of the nail salon clearly states $30 for a full set WITH GEL. I'm not sure what the extra 5 was for but I won't be back. read more

Should have listened to the Yelp reviews. To start, I walked in apologetic because my friend and I were late to our appointment. Didn't even matter- they didn't remember we had one. Our mani pedis took 2.5 hours. Almost nothing was done at the same time (I was left waiting in the soak for almost her whole pedi and vice versa). Nobody spoke to us- only gestures. Until someone yelled at me about being careful with my nails. Two days later and my mani is just peeling off in chunks. Maybe because the guy did three thick layers. Sigh. I have to commend this nail salon due it it's smell- or really, lack of! I am pregnant and tried 3(!) other salons for a mani/pedi, but had to leave right away due to the overwhelming chemical smells (that may not have been bothersome to me otherwise). This place immediately walking in had no chemical smells- either because it's a large space and/or better ventilated, who knows. On a Friday afternoon I only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seen. I just had a standard pedicure and manicure with no polish, and was pleased with the results. $35 price is pretty standard. Service was fine and just about what I'd expect at any other similar nail salon. It is nice being offered a free bottle of water. I also like that this place is open Sunday too. read more

I went to Hollywood with a friend who goes there all the time, this was my first time. Her guy Tim was rude, and horrible. I picked out 2 colors so that I could have a full nail color and then the other was for the tips. (Also I wanted my acrylic work looked at, as the last place I went to didn't do a good job, and it was just one week ago). He basically refused to do the nail color, saying couldn't do that but could do the tips for me in my requested color. After asking him "why" twice, and never really understanding his answers, I said, "fine, take all this off (my old design) and just do clear polish. His response was, "Natural nail look better for you anyway." All he did was cut down the length, file them smooth, and polish them clear. $8 The OWNER allowed him to decide what the customer should have instead of the customer getting what they want. AND their hours are till 7 pm on Saturdays; we arrived long before their last hour of business and they were turning others away, "Come back tomorrow," when they still had over 40 minutes left to be open. No, I won't ever go back. PS: I can't tell you much on the cleanliness or decor, as I wasn't inside for long. I was rushed thru and out the door, it was like all they wanted was to go home and my request would have taken too long. Again, we were there about 5:45 pm.. they close at 7 pm. read more

I really want to like this place but I have my reservations. Overall, the full set gel I received I like. But the service was not the best. When I get my nails done, I want it to be relaxing. At first it was fun. Then the gentleman was filing my nails with the electric nail file. He repeatedly told me to not move my hand. I was as still as a statue. His hand slipped and the file nicked my cuticle. He rolled his eyes and gave me a very rude look. I said "I did not move." He kept giving me this glare and not in a joking way. I read the reviews while waiting (only shortly) for a walk in appointment. I don't know if I caught everyone on their best day or if sometimes efficiency is confused for rudeness. I give them 3 stars and that may be stretching it but they are very clean, wide variety of new nail polish/colors and they offer you a bottle of water. Unfortunately, other than that it's nothing special. I really wanted to like them but this was my 3rd time and I left disappointed like I did the times before. I had to ask them each time to shape nails evenly and to trim toenails straight. My polish on my toe nails aren't evenly coated and I bumped my hand nails sitting down to put under light to dry which nicked the corner of nail. She took polish and tried covering it up with a think layer which never drys completely. These may all sound petty but these are the things at want done correctly. read more

me and friend came here a couple days ago. we waited hour 1-2 hours to be sitted. after that we had to wait another 30 minutes to actually get our acrylics done. when she starting to do out nails she was buffing really hard until it "burned" our skin with the buffer on the side of the nails. and our middle nails is so much flatter which can cause breakage easier. we told her about it and she didn't care at all. she told us it looked normal and that it was just our fingers. she also charged us more that what she told originally. which was a complete rip-off. the original price was $50 but then telling us after she was done it was $65, and i don't mind paying more for nails but i want them to look right. read more

When the girl asked me what I wanted done I told her. She said she couldn't do it. I assume. She "couldn't" do it. Because it would be less time and work then she wanted to be able to charge for. So needless to say I walked next door to Sally's and bought a new color and went home to do what she "couldn't!" Stopped here on the spur of the moment for a basic manicure. Man at desk was unsmiling, unwelcoming and curt. I waited for ten minutes, sitting on a couch with some teenagers eating some sort of fried eggrolls and soda until a woman waved me over; no "hello", no smile, absolutely no welcome at all. At that point I should have walked out the door. She gestured as to where to sit, put a bowl of extremely hot, sudsy water in front of me, noticed that I winced when I put my hand in, asked if it was too hot and added water from the bottle she'd been drinking from! Then, another young girl came around offering a fried unidentifiable something on a tray that I couldn't have eaten if I'd wanted to, which I didn't. While my hands were soaking the woman multi-tasked and finally got back to me. The entire time I was sitting there she didn't acknowledge me in any way: not so much as a hint of a smile. It was surreal. My cuticle was nicked at one point, my nails were cut to the quick, one unevenly, and I was out of there. She did, though, say thank you to me when I left. I am a generous tipper and, when the service is just okay I still tip 15%. This is the first time I can ever remember not tipping anything at all. I always get my nails done. I did start bouncing around from nail salon to nail salon until I found someone that does my nails the same way every time just how I like them. And the first couple of visits at hollywood nails I wasn't very happy with the person that was doing my nails but that person is no longer there and which there were reasons why I can figure out they are no longer. But Mina is awesome she does my nails the same way every time I love it I go in there a sit down and greeted I'm also offered a variety of drinks. I took a party of 10 women here for a pre-wedding get-together. The staff took such amazing care of all of us! They even surprised me by getting egg rolls for my party from the Chinese restaurant next door. They also put a table out with wine, sodas, and water, all free of charge. Aside from their wonderful hospitality, they also did a great job with our nails, and my cousin could not stop raving about the massage that her nail tech gave (and she is not easy to please)!
