Well guys, I'm very disappointed and I do regret coming here. Let's get to the point, this guy is not a "professional." I needed to get 2 dress pants altered, hemmed AND brought in for a slim fit. He only did the hemming and didn't bother to bring the fit in. He charged $110 but only did half the job. I'm really annoyed. Not only that why did he use purple thread on my garments?!? At least use black so it matches. There's so much loose thread and bad stitching going on. My pics will speak for itself. Never coming back. I could of done the hemming myself at home. I gave him 2 weeks to do this! I have a wedding to go to tomorrow otherwise I would take it back. Tf. read more

This little place is located behind Hollywood suits outlet. I don't believe they are associated with Hollywood suits, but could be related some way, some how. Anyways, been here numerous times. Everytime I buy a suit, I immediately go to the back and get it altered. Quality wise, they do a great job with their alterations. Fairly priced, fairly quick when not busy. Usually within an hour, which will give you time to walk Hollywood Bl., and get a bite to eat. Workers there are good, they know what to do, they show that they have a lot of experience in the alteration business. Just wish they would smile a little bit, but not a big problem, as I always leave satisfied with a geat fitted suit. I went out of my way to drive to this place, find meter parking, and find the actual place (hidden in the back). I just needed simple repair of straps that had detatched on two dresses. They looked at it and told me that it was too simple for them--advised me to take my garments to a dry cleaner for simple repair/alteration. I am in awe. I knew I'd need a top-notch tailor to alter the shoulders of a ball gown for my best friend's wedding, and I found that in Alex. Thank you, fellow Yelpers, for steering me right! Rather than accept that the lace pattern wouldn't match up after removing over an inch of fabric where the shoulders met the back, Alex went the extra mile, meticulously un-bonding portions of the lace overlay before making the alteration and re-applying it after the fact to render the seam invisible. If you are looking for a GREAT tailor, look no further! I needed some pants altered and wasn't even sure it was something that could be fixed. Alex not only did a fantastic job but he was able to do it the same day. When he asked if I was happy with the results, I told him that he was a magician for doing such an incredible job. His shop is a bit tricky to find as it is a little hidden in the back of building through an alleyway but once you find him, you won't need to look for another tailor again. read more

I was asked NOT to write a review, but I'm so disappointed in my experience here I have to get this off my chest. I'm a tall guy, 6'5'' with an athletic build, and I need a 36" inseam with jeans, which are always very difficult for me to find, especially jeans that fit well enough in the waist and thigh. After searching many stores around LA with zero success, I spent hours looking online for older pairs I've purchased in the past. I found ONE pair of 36" inseam Diesel jeans in a fit that I recognized would work for my body type. (I had purchased this exact same style/fit from Diesel over 10 years ago.) Because they're 10 years old (but in great condition)... the style is a little outdated (closer to a boot-cut) - so I needed to have them tapered from below the knees to the bottom of the legs. I came to yelp to look for reviews around the Hollywood/West Hollywood area to see who was the 'best alterations/tailoring' place I could find. With over 200 reviews averaging 4.5 stars, Hollywood Studio Alterations by Alex seemed like a solid place to go. When I took the jeans to Alex, I tried them on for him and was very specific in telling him what I needed, only tapering from knee down. He asked if I wanted them hemmed, and I said "No, I do not want any length cut off these jeans, it's so hard to find longer jeans, I want to keep the full length." He understood and agreed with me and asked me to come back in a week to pick them up. I arrived today to pick up my jeans, excited to wear them out this weekend. He handed me the pair, I went to try them on and wanted to cry. OVER 6 INCHES HAD BEEN CUT OFF THE BOTTOM OF MY JEANS. I was immediately frustrated as I could NOT have been more clear in my instructions which Alex confirmed understanding when I originally dropped them off. I was told that somebody who no longer works there was the person who worked on my jeans...I get that mistakes can happen, but this could not have been more of a simple job, and it just shows me that there wasn't enough care to pass along the instructions, and whoever did work on my jeans, apparently decided to do exactly what I had asked them NOT to do. In fairness, Alex did compensate me for the loss of my jeans and offered to tailor my next pair for no charge. - This action I would expect from any business when realizing they messed up this badly, but I have no trust for this place now. I'm so upset that all of the time and energy I spent into finding this pair of jeans was for nothing. Yes, they're just a pair of jeans, and it's not the end of the world, but first impressions are everything and now I have to embark on another online search. read more

I brought Alex a fully beaded dress, with even more intricate detailed beading on the bottom. It was too long on me and needed hemming. NO ONE ELSE WOULD TOUCH this dress. They all said "Sorry, It simply can't be done." Finally, my husband suggested I try his tailor. Alex looked at it and came up with a Solution! He took out a piece in the middle, and then attached the newly created top and bottom together - seamlessly!!!!! The dress looks AMAZING, complete with intricate trim still intact.
