After another tailor, much cheaper ruined a few pairs of my pants I had to find another tailor, as I am petite. Yelp recommended Marin and they really are great. In the last few months they have altered 2 dresses for me and 4 pants/jeans. They are not cheap but they are really good, and this is a skill I will never have (despite knowing how to sew, I cannot alter my things or make pants even. I went to Marin to see about having the shoulders of a suit jacket altered. The gentleman I spoke to immediately said it would be at least $200 and probably not worth it. He took the time to pin the jacket to show me how it would look and mentioned that there would still be issues with the fit. I really appreciated the honesty. I did leave another item there to have the buttons fixed. I'm sure the work will be great. read more

POSITIVES: Knowledgeable, quick turnaround, great workmanship! NEGATIVE: Had an additional $80 charge added at the last second. I took in a suite to be fully tailored for my wedding. Once everything had been fitted, agreed upon and rang up is when the gentleman goes, "ohhhh, did you want us to put the cuffs back like they are on them now?" I replied, of course want the pants to look the same as they do now". He replied, "oh ok, that's an extra $40 per leg to have the cuffs put back". It's not the added cost the bothered me as much as it was the lack of transparency and price consistency prior to being at the cash register. Having the price increased $80 at the last second after we discussed/agreed to a cost was disappointing. read more

My old tailor was forced out of business by rising rents, and I decided to try Marin. The prices were exorbitant (double what I was used to), but I decided to give them a try anyway. (My clothes were already on their side of the counter when I learned the prices. If they had been in my hands, I would've left with them). Anyway, they charged me $100 to let out a mens suit jacket that no longer fit me properly. When I returned to pick it up, having already paid for the work, I found that the jacket still fit the same. Still too small. The tailor said that the jacket had already been let out as much as it could be, which of course is probably the case. I had it tailored in the past, though I didn't know the jacket could not be let out any further. Okay, so I have the same jacket, still too small. You decide: should they have charged me $100 to accomplish exactly nothing? Because they did. If it were my business, I would not charge a client, especially a new client, a hefty fee to accomplish nothing. I would accept it as a cost of doing business. That, too me, is what a reputable business-person does. Here's what a disreputable person does: They charge you $100, and make no accommodation in the price, for accomplishing exactly nothing (about that there is no disagreement -- it isn't even a little better). My search for another tailor continues. I will not be going back there. read more

Great experience, came in to have a pair of pants tailored because it was a size too big. First time I got it back it was TOO small, but after bringing it up, they were able to adjust it, no extra charge, and this time, it felt perfect :) Super kind as well. Glad I made it all the way! read more

This was my second time getting my suits tailored here and I would recommend them for the service. I was assisted by Diego and I appreciate the service that was provided. I was fitted on a Saturday and expected to receive the suit the following Saturday. I ended up going out of town and received a text from Diego informing me that the suits wouldn't be ready by Saturday and they needed additional time. I informed him that I wouldn't be able to get the suits anyway because I wouldn't be available. In my excitement to get my suits upon returning from my trip Sunday I decided to go to the shop to pick them up Monday. I hadn't confirmed that the suits were ready and found out that they weren't. Instead of having to return another day or time, Diego said that he could drop the suits off to me later in the evening. I truly appreciate the craftsmanship of the suits and for Diego going the extra mile to drop them off for me. With the gas prices in California these days any effort to drive outside of your standard route is appreciated. I can't wait to wear the suits and look forward to styling and profiling. read more

Easy to find street parking and we didn't have to make an appointment. We came in to adjust a wedding outfit and we felt taken cared of with all the details we needed explained. I've been here a couple of times to shorten bridesmaid dresses. They are super nice with great customer service! The people who work there are so friendly and genuinely want happy customers. They were very busy last time I went over there and accommodated my need for the hemming done in a short timeline. I think a lot of weddings are happening because of delays due to COVID so businesses like tailors will definitely be busy. Just need to be mindful and go early instead of waiting till less than 2 weeks before like me! The only down side is the price. I think it's a bit on the expensive side, but it's fair in comparison to some of the other ones I have been in the area. I have friends that live in the suburbs and they were able to get their bridesmaid dresses tailored for less than half the price. I know this is probably because the overall cost of living and running a business must be high in this area. read more

I needed a brides maids dress tailored quickly for a wedding I'm going to be in. I hesitantly messaged them on yelp about availability and inquiry quite late like 9 pm and they miraculously answered. I took my dress in the next day no problems and picked up it a week and a half later, it fit perfectly on me and they were so kind to double check it fit well. These guys are INCREDIBLE!!!!! I'm an artist with crazy ideas and I bought in a Versace sweater to them to have it cut and cropped, BUT save the bottom half and turn it into a zipper so that I can have the option to wear the sweater as a crop or reattach the bottom piece. Very disappointed! This place has two brothers working here. One is super nice and friendly and the other one is the complete opposite. I came here a few months ago to hem a beach cover up. It was a raw hem and the length and arms only needed to be cut shorter with scissors, no sewing necessary. I paid $20 and it was done in one day. I was very happy with the service. Today I walked in and was helped by the other brother. I brought another cover up that was made of the exact same material and asked them to just cut the length on this one with scissors just like my previous item. Now I was told it would cost $55 and take 1 1/2 weeks! Just to cut off some fabric with scissors. I told them that I was there just a few months ago with my other item and paid less than half. He couldn't care less and just said" if it's too much for you then too bad". I quickly left and will never come back! read more

The staff was professional and nice : friendly . I had to come back a couple times to get the dress how I wanted it to look . Only reason for a missing star is the communication could be better . They said they would call when the dress was finished but I ended up having to call them after not hearing from them for over a week . Good thing I wasn't in a rush! My local tailor! They're not the cheapest, seeing as they are in Westwood, but they are consistent and provide quality service. They are good to ask for advice as far as how you want to get things tailored and they don't mind that you bring things back if it didn't quite meet your needs. I've used them for anything from suits to jeans to jackets and have been satisfied with the service. They generally provide stuff back by a reasonable time too! No long waits.
