Pins showing where eaters are from....good luck finding an empty spot on the east coast!
    Graham S.

In town to meet friends and had Hollywood's on my yelp list for years. Seemed like a spot that had something for everyone so we headed over for dinner with 4 adults and two kids under 12. We had a fabulous time. Our server was so much fun and clearly enjoyed working there. The food was stupendous, from the Blue Cheese chips starter to all the entrees: snapper special, chicken and shrimp pasta special, quesadilla kids meal, the Cajun meatloaf...but the pork tacos were the standout of the night. They were unreal. My son found the super cool map and said " I wanted to put a pin in Virginia, but there was no space. The entire East Coast is covered!" Popularity has a price - Hollywood's clearly has it going on. We will be back anytime we're in the area. Fancy food without any air of pretension. Excellent

We stopped at The Hollywood as we were traveling through Virginia. The staff were very friendly and welcoming with pleasant efficient service. The food, we had their chicken salad was fresh and tasted good. We also splurged on their peanut butter pie for dessert. It was very rich. The ambiance was busy and obviously is a place enjoyed by many. Parking is tight but we were able to find a spot.

Nice lunch experience here. I ordered the grilled chicken ghost pepper sandwich. I wish it was spicier, but it was very tasty. The green beans were classic diner style and they were awesome. Great fast service and nice space.

Stop here every time I'm in town. Variety of sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Love the white bean chili. Haven't had a bad meal here yet.

I took a trip to our Daleville office and everyone I ran into there said the same thing "try Fishin…read morePig"! & they all said that the catfish was delicious so I had to try it. The menu says it is a sandwich but it's more like a poboy with lots of fish on a sub roll. So much that at one point I had to leave the bread behind! That's a good thing because some places don't give good portions of fish like that. The sauce was good and I just HAD to try all the barbecue sauces on the table. I'm not a bbq eater, but the sauces were REALLY good with the catfish and mixed in with my ketchup for the fries. Everyone gave that wonderful southern hospitality and Mike , one of the owners, came by to check in. Very nice and I look forward to visiting again when I'm in the area.

I recently ate at The Fishin' Pig, and my experience was a mix of outstanding food and incredibly…read moredisappointing service. I'll start with the positive because the food truly deserves recognition. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The wings were some of the best I've had in a long time. They were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and tossed in a sauce that had the perfect balance of flavor without overpowering the chicken. Every bite was delicious, and they were easily the highlight of the meal. The BBQ was just as impressive. The meat was tender, smoky, and packed with flavor without being overly salty or dry. You could tell it had been cooked with care. The sides complemented the meal well, making for what should have been an excellent dining experience. If I were judging on the food alone, this would easily be a five-star restaurant. Unfortunately, the service completely changed the overall experience. From the moment we were seated, it felt like we were forgotten. It took an unusually long time before anyone came to take our drink order, and after our food arrived, our server was rarely around. Drinks sat empty for extended periods, and we had to look around multiple times just to get someone's attention. What made it even more frustrating was the waiter "groaned" when we asked for a refill. We waited far longer than necessary for simple things like refills, checking on our meal, and eventually getting the check. There was very little communication, no sense of urgency, and no effort to make sure we were enjoying our visit. Great service can elevate a meal, while poor service can overshadow even the best food. That's exactly what happened here. The kitchen clearly knows what they're doing, and the quality of the wings and BBQ is reason enough to visit. However, the front-of-house experience needs significant improvement. Friendly, attentive, and timely service should match the quality of the food being served. Of all the times we ate here this by far where the worst service we have ever had. Most of the time the service is impeccable. Tonight it fell short, I always usually leave a tip, but tonight was different. I could bring myself to leave a tip on such poor service. I genuinely hope The Fishin' Pig addresses these issues because the restaurant has tremendous potential. The food is absolutely worth recommending, especially the wings and BBQ, but customers shouldn't have to endure poor service to enjoy a great meal. Until the service improves, it's difficult to give this restaurant the rating the food alone deserves.

That being said, my husband ordered the fried seafood platter and according to him the breading was too heavy for his liking. My daughter (who does not like seafood) ordered chicken tenders. I believe they may use the same flour mixture to dredge both the chicken and the seafood, because her chicken tenders tasted very "fishy." I got the crab legs, which were delicious. However, they do not offer real butter so that was a bit disappointing. The things I did enjoy about this place: The decor was very nice. I love the murals on the walls. We did not have to wait for a table as there is plenty of seating. Everything felt very clean. Our waiter was wonderful. He was very kind, attentive, and accommodating. I think that considering this restaurant is in the mountains, it is a fine place to get seafood. If you are used to eating seafood on the coast, you may be disappointed.

We went to Harbor Inn restaurant about five years ago. We were in Roanoke today and decided to give…read moreit one more chance. I can honestly say I will never step my foot back in that place again. I don't have any reason to give them a bad review, I just give my review and tell the truth and nothing but the truth. Whoever wrote that wonderful review for them, must've been one of the owners because here is my experience I love scallops as a matter of fact, my friend owns a seafood restaurant in Yorktown, Virginia, and we are very close friends. He knows that I am a connoisseur of fine scallops so he gives me tips on how to tell if they're really scallops or just white fish. At Harbor Inn, fried scallops are about $19.99. They're very small and they are exactly what my friend warned me of when I buy scallops. The taste of them is not anywhere near a scollops. They are all shaped alike and the same size and the inside does not have the rubbery consistency of a scallop. In other words, they are white fish that has been cut out and sold at a high price. The fried ones are very greasy. I ordered a sweet potato to go with them and it did look good but I had to bring it home to eat it. The only butter they had was on the table and it said right on the front of the little tub " vegetable oil". I ask if they had butter and that was the only kind of butter they had, I told them that that was not butter, it was vegetable oil. It tasted nasty so I didn't put it on my food My husband got the fried fish and they were tiny pieces of fish that were fried and didn't even have a taste other than oil. He bought the fish home and put it in the refrigerator hoping that maybe he would be real hungry and snack on it About 20 minutes after being in our refrigerator I just about gagged. We had to take it out. Take it to the end of our field and throw it out for the animals. Not only did our refrigerator smell like strong fish, our whole kitchen did. The fries that he got were cold. The only good thing about this meal was the hush puppies. They were not bad. I usually don't eat fried foods, but I do love scallops and like I said the fried ones were about $20 but if you got them broiled, they were $25 The only reason I'm writing this is not to try and put a restaurant down. I know they need to make money, but I don't think that other people should have to experience what I did and that's why I'm just telling the truth. Also, when we were there before the bathrooms were really weird, they were corner toilets. They didn't look dirty, but the lid was down so after I lined the toilet, I sat down and the lid fell down on my back, it didn't hurt me, but it didn't feel good either. They were the exact same way this time and the lids are black and they were all chipped and not painted or anything. It was nasty looking. The bathroom did not look dirty. It just looked like it needed updated.

I'm a fan of a Connecticut style roll (hot buttered lobster roll) so this was on my must-try list. Sadly, I wasn't. Service: I stood in line for 40 minutes before I ordered and then another 12 minutes for my food. Yes, there was a line ahead of me, yet there really was zero sense of urgency to move that line at above a snails pace. I also had to ask for forks and napkins Sandwich was pretty small, and lobster was chopped up and heavily seasoned. IMHO, it didn't taste fresh either, like maybe the seasoning was an attempt to cover the quality or freshness. Until that one day that you decided to stop, and explore a whole new culinary world. After having been selected as number 4 of the Top 50 most prolific Elites of 2025, a year when I also was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Photographer of the Year Award at the Yelpies 2025 Award Ceremony, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, and where last year I was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Yelper of the Year Award, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Coach & Four Restaurant, in Roanoke Virginia is a perfect example. At first it was just a large colonial house turned restaurant on Williamson Road in Roanoke, Virginia. But once I decided to stop and explore it, it has become one of my favorite restaurants in Roanoke, Virginia. Its uniqueness lies not only in its colonial atmosphere and in its classic American cuisine, but primarily in its amazing staff that from the time you walk in begin to make your fine-dining experience one that you'll always remember and cherish dearly. Their refined behavior creates a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere that create unforgettable dining experiences. Today, after having gone through one of the worst snow and ice storms in years, I decided to not allow the icy roads to hold me back, and requested a Lyft to take me there for dinner. As soon as I arrived, the friendly host came out to greet me and take me to a table of my choice. My server from the first time I dined there, happened to recognize me and took me to the booth where I had dined the first time I ever dined there. We discussed a Mocktail for me to drink and she came back with an amazing drink, and a small meatball as an "amuse-bouche," designed to prepare ones palate for the meal. After studying the restaurant's extensive menu, I ordered their Bacon Wrapped Scallops as appetizer. For my main entrée I ordered the Prime Rib Combination that consisted of a generous portion of roasted prime rib served with a delicious lobster tail. For the two sides that came with my main entree, I had their famous tossed salad with their in-house made blue cheese dressing and a loaded baked potato. The scallops were not so big in size but big in flavor and texture. The salad was amazing, as always. The main entrée looked well at first, but when I cut into the prime rib it was too well done to be able to appreciate the flavor of the meat. But my server came by, as promised, to see if the prime rib was cooked to my satisfaction, and when I told her it was too well done for my original request of medium-rare, she gracefully apologized and took it back. Returning shortly with another piece of prime rib more to my liking. For dessert I had a slice of Pecan Pie a la mode, which by the way was amazingly delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for one of the best fine-dining experiences of your life. And am looking forward to returning and ordering ahead of time their Baked Alaska to have for dessert.
