Jo Malone Afternoon Tea (Xmas holiday) Good selection of tea & nice assortment of desserts, scones & tea sandwiches. Can't go wrong with Sloane teas. My favourite is the Heavenly Cream which is their version of a creamy earl grey tea. Two scones (buttermilk & another one with candied orange I think). Both were lovely. I loved the plum and cinnamon jam (albeit a bit more runny than needed). Proper clotted cream is always delish & appreciated. There are 4 desserts on the top tier. All are very good. But do note, if you're taking the desserts home, some might melt & not keep their form too long! Sandwiches were ok, but nothing spectacular. The turkey would have nice as roast turkey as opposed to a cold cut style. The highlight of the green tomato sandwich was the burrata. I think my favourite was the prawn sandwich. I love Jo Malone perfume so it's always nice to attend this collaboration tea and get a free sample. It would be nice to get a sample of the holiday perfume that was being tied in but they never seem to have that sample available. Server was friendly and nice ambiance in the room.

Last month, I booked a Lunar New Year afternoon tea for a saturday afternoon (March 2nd). My boyfriend and I were excited as this was our first time going to this cafe and to eat delicious food! Our waiter was a friendly young man with closely shaved head and a neck tattoo. He was warm and welcoming, and we appreciated that he accommodated our requests (e.g. hot water, extra utensils) during our meal. He also checked in to make sure that we were enjoying our meal and to clear some items off the table. The afternoon tea set was beautiful to look and each item was delicious! Also, the tea that each of us chose (ginger lemon and Moroccan mint) were great. We were too full by the end, so we took the remaining desserts home. We had an enjoyable time and we talked about planning another day to visit to try their regular menu. If you are interested in trying an afternoon tea, this is the place to go to!

I've been here for high tea twice now - once for Lunar New Year and most recently for their Christmas holiday Jo Malone inspired set. The restaurant itself is cute with ample natural lighting - almost too much sun actually, especially in the early afternoon when it can be really blinding! Service is mixed and depends on who you get. I have seen both good and bad servers here and therefore deducted a star for the inconsistency. Food is average and again dependent on what's on the menu for your particular visit. Another star deduction here. For example, I enjoyed the pastries in their Lunar New Year set better than the ones offered in their Christmas holiday set. Their high tea sets are priced a little lower than competitors but that difference is reflected in the menu and service you get.

When I heard that Holts Cafe is doing a LNY-themed High Tea, I had to go check it out. For $78/person, we were well fed! Swipe to see the menu, it was a good variety & nice balance of sweet & savoury treats my fav was the Five-Spice Roasted Pork Bao! Since we booked a table at 11am, which is when they opened, we managed to get a table right by the window. Great lighting from the natural sunlight (& not to forget, the people-watching from here as well!) Service was great & our server was really attentive! Would highly recommend to try out their high tea here ‍

Checked out the Festive Jo Malone Afternoon Tea this weekend. Was a wonderful tea, just right in terms of the food and accompanied by Sloane Teas which are always great. Nice venue and the pricing was pretty reasonable for a holiday tea too ($65+ tax and tip). Only served on Saturdays and Sundays during the holidays. You must reserve in advance as they need 24 hours to prepare. Totally recommend. Great service. They kept our teapots full! Oh and we got a couple of Jo Malone sample colognes too!

We went to holts cafe for high tea and honestly I was not disappointed. They had the Prosecco I like. The tower was beautiful and yummy. The tea selection was pretty good. Our server was very accommodating. It was inside a shopping mall that had every designer you can think of. That added a little razzle dazzle to the experience for me. I would definitely go again. It was cute and I felt fancy.

I made a reservation for Holt Cafe's Holiday Afternoon Tea right before the Christmas holidays. Understandable it's a busy time of year when you have a holiday event, but we ended up waiting over 20 minutes to get our table despite having an reservation. Once seated, we ordered our type of tea and added a glass of prosecco as well. The tea was fantastic, as expected since it's Sloane brand tea. However when it came to the actual food, sweets and pastries, it was a little disappointing. The small savory sandwiches were soggy and tasted old, and the sweet pastries were very bland and seemed like something you can get from a grocery store. The highlight was definitely the scones- absolutely fantastic with great choice of spreads. But I definitely expected a higher quality afternoon tea set from Holts Cafe.

I had a very pleasant experience at Holts Café especially services provided by Mr. Daniel. He was very understanding, helpful and gave excellent customer service. Their menu is a culinary masterpiece, offering an incredible selection of dishes that cater to diverse tastes and preferences. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is friendly and attentive, making every visit a true pleasure. I've dined at Holts Café several times and have never been disappointed, - it's truly a must-visit destination for any food lover.

I enjoyed my recent visit to Holts cafe. We received 18.88% (such a Chinese thing) off their restaurant with a coupon from shopping at Holts back near Chinese New Year (they actually rounded it up to 19%). If it weren't for the promo, Holt's Cafe wouldn't be top of mind, given it's on the upper floors of Holt Renfrew. I'm so glad I came. The ambiance, service and food are top-notch, just as you would've expected. Right now, they are part of the city's DineTOgether program. Where can you order two items for $30 from their special menu (choose two from their appetizer, main, and dessert section). So it's an optimal time to try if you haven't been. We both chose a main and shared a dessert and app. It's all elevated creative versions of typical comfort foods, PB&J with chicken liver mousse is just yum. The spinach pasta is super fresh, tasty and light. Usually, I wouldn't say I like spinach because it can taste too earthy and bitter. Fish is cooked just right. The portions are smaller, so we added a side of truffle fries and we were both left satisfied. The sauce and fries are both great. Creative touches throughout their mocktails. The drink is pink, I couldn't resist, and there's a popsicle, why not. For the ambiance, food creativity/quality, service and location, the price point is reasonable. I'm rounding up, as the ratings should be at least 4+ based on recent experience.

Made reservations for the Guerlain Honey afternoon tea service on a Sunday afternoon and what an amazing experience it was! We were seated right away and service was immaculate, the servers were very attentive and always asked if we needed anything more. At $70/person, we left feeling very full and satisfied, even packed some sweets to go since we couldn't finish the dessert platter. The tea menu had a great selection, I chose the peach tea and it was oh so yummy! They even gave us a small bottle of the Guerlain Watery Oil which I've been wanting to try. Can't wait to come back for another afternoon tea experience!

Visited for their Lunar New Year afternoon tea. Food was really good. My favourites were the cucumber sandwiches, Peking duck wonton, mango tartlet, and the macarons (which had pandan and coconut)! The scones and clotted weren't as fresh as we'd like. Service was lacking - we were ignored for about 20 minutes until we waved them down. Overall not bad. Food just needs to be more fresh and more attention needs to be paid to customers.

Super cute high tea and quite affordable! Seasonal menus which I love because they usually cater it around major holidays during that season. The scones were amazing, and since it was a special for lunar new year (this is a late review), they had asian inspired items like Peking duck wonton, crystal shrimp dumplings, salted egg yolk sesame ball (AMAZING).

Probably my new favourite brunch spot! I came here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon with a reservation. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious! We ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and the holts burger with truffle fries. Both were so amazing. The drinks were a little pricy but you are dining inside a Holt Renfrew. I'll definitely be back for the great ambiance and there were more things I wanted to try!

When you arrive you have the option to sit on the first floor or upstairs on the rooftop bar. I believe this is the only multi-level Cactus Club Cafe I've ever been to. We opted for the rooftop bar which had a high energy, upscale, and stylish vibe to it. We ended up sitting at the bar as it was very crowded. I ordered a frozen Aperol Spritz which was excellent and I could drink a few of these. For food we ordered a burger and fries which was good but nothing to write home about. If you are looking for a late night spot for drinks and food the Cactus Club Cafe is a solid choice.

Initially it was slow service but it picked up shortly. We had several different servers so no single server is tagged here. I will say that it's a hip, nicely equipped restaurant. We decided to do an appie meal. We ordered Sichuan Chicken lettuce wraps ($25.50)..this was the best of the appies. The next was the Crab Dip ($20.75), it was hot but not overly tasty. 3rd was the Hot Chicken Bites with pickles ($16.00). They were ok but not hot in temp enough. The final was the Chili Citrus Calamari ($21.25). This was the worse of the dishes. Simply put, it was cold. The server removed this from our bill. In summary...I wouldn't go out of my way again to go here but given all things being equal, the servers were very good. As a final note...the bathroom was very clean & well maintained.

Black + Blue had a $65 dinner menu which is pretty good for the options available. The portions were generous but the service was where things really stood out. We were treated so incredibly well by all the staff. Dawn was our server and she was so lovely! We really felt taken care of. I've never had a restaurant server look at the type of pant I was wearing and change my table napkin to a black one to match my dark pants. Nor do I remember a restaurant heating up the mug a cappuccino comes in to ensure it stays nice and warm. As for food, we were allowed to have some partake in Summerlicious and some not. I had the Summerlicious menu and picked the Wagyu Tartare, Surf and Turf, and Buttercake. Great portions, delicious food. My favourite was the Buttercake. We also had happy hour drinks, oysters, a prime rib, and caesar salad. If I were to recommend something, get the $78 prime rib which is 14 oz, perfectly seasoned, and comes with glazed carrots and the most amazing mashed potatoes I've ever had.

I found myself wanting to try most of the cocktails, which is a rarity. We got the Strawberry Tetsu to start (inspired by Uncle Tetsu's Japanese cheesecake), along with the Cloudy Oolong (tea-based cocktail with a salted caramel cheese foam). The Strawberry Tetsu tasted like a dessert and was delicious, with a graham cracker crumble rim. The Cloudy Oolong had a strong tea taste which I loved, as sometimes the tea can get lost in a cocktail. The foam on top was addicting and paired nicely with it, similar to a bubble tea. Next, I had the Burnt Yuzu which was light and refreshing from the citrus. The bar is hidden behind Misfit Ice Cream, with a speakeasy vibe to the interior. Large windows line one wall with a view to the exterior, but are tinted enough that people walking by cannot see in. We walked up to an unassuming entrance that is part of the experience, and once inside, the atmosphere shifts completely. The space is intimate and cozy with dim lighting, comfortable seating, and a relaxed speakeasy vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a couple of drinks. The transition from the street to the interior feels deliberate, and the low-key energy of the room encourages lingering. The cocktail menu leans heavily into Asian-inspired flavors, and that is what makes it stand out. Every drink feels thoughtfully developed rather than relying on presentation alone. We tried the Cloudy Oolong, which was especially memorable with its rich tea flavor and creamy cheese foam that added a savory depth to the cocktail. The Strawberry Tetsu offered a dessert-like profile without becoming overly sweet, balancing fruit and tea notes in a way that felt refined and well composed. Each cocktail arrived beautifully presented and balanced, making it easy to appreciate the amount of care that goes into every glass. The menu is creative without being gimmicky, and the flavors are well integrated, with each drink offering something distinct. The staff were welcoming and happy to explain the menu or offer recommendations if you are unsure what to order. They guided us through the flavor profiles and offered thoughtful suggestions based on our preferences. Service felt attentive without being overbearing, and the overall pace made it a great place to relax rather than rush through a drink. The team checked in at the right moments and kept the experience feeling personal and unhurried. If you are looking for a cocktail bar that offers something different from the usual classics, After Seven delivers a memorable experience. Between the hidden entrance, intimate setting, and creative drinks, it is the kind of place that is easy to recommend whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for one of Toronto's more unique bars. The balance of atmosphere, craftsmanship, and service makes it a standout in the city's cocktail scene.

Located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Hotel, the restaurant has an incredible atmosphere. The dining room is absolutely stunning with a classy and luxurious feel, but it still feels comfortable and inviting rather than too formal. We started the evening with cocktails before moving into the Summerlicious menu. I ordered the "I Only Drink When I Smoke," which was a great way to start the night. It had a subtle smoky flavour with a touch of sweetness, and the alcohol was not overpowering at all. It was smooth, easy to sip on, and the perfect drink to enjoy while having conversations. For my Summerlicious menu, I started with the Tartare de Boeuf and Caviar. The filet mignon tartare was fresh and really smooth, with a nice balance of rich and savoury flavours. The toasted bread also gave it a nice crunch and paired really well with the tartare. For the main course, I had the Roasted Chateaubriand Filet. When the plate was served, the meat looked really rare as I saw nothing but red on the meat, but it was incredibly tender, making it easy to cut through. It was full of flavour, and the sauce complemented the steak without being too heavy or salty. The vegetables added a nice balance to the dish, and the creamy mashed potatoes were smooth, and definitely one of my favourite parts of the meal. To finish, I had the Mango Passionfruit Cheesecake. It was creamy without feeling too heavy. Though the fruity flavours from the mango passionfruit were a bit tart and sweet for my palate, it still gave an overall refreshing touch. The crust added a nice texture, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service and pacing of the evening. Each course arrived at the right time, allowing us to enjoy every dish without feeling rushed. The price point is definitely on the higher end, so it is not somewhere I would personally visit for a casual dinner on a regular basis. However, for a special occasion, celebration, or a night where you want to enjoy a beautiful dining experience, I think Louix Louis would be a great choice... and for $75/ person for Summerlicious/ Winterlicious, definitely a great value to sample the chefs' artistry. Overall, it was a memorable evening with an elegant atmosphere, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and great service. I can definitely understand why this spot has become such a popular destination, and I would love to come back again for Winterlicious!

Perched high above the bustle of downtown Toronto, LOUIX LOUIS makes a compelling first impression…read more The dining room is genuinely handsome -- a study in polished Art Deco glamour softened by sweeping city views that lend every table a sense of occasion. On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve. For the corporate traveller or the visitor seeking a polished, geographically convenient showcase of the city's skyline, this represents an entirely sound choice. For those seeking an experience whose flavours linger as long as the view, the kitchen has room yet to grow into its magnificent stage. Service is attentive and well-intentioned, though it can occasionally want for the depth of knowledge that elevates a good meal into a memorable one. LOUIX LOUIS is, in sum, a very good restaurant striving -- not quite yet arriving -- at greatness. The bones are exceptional; one hopes the culinary vision will, in time, catch up with them.
