    Mac Moody and lemonade
    Duane L.

First time here, but not the last. I had their 'Mac Moody' mac n cheese bowl with plain chicken and their bushkey sauce, which is a tangy garlic blend and really zipped up the otherwise plain macaroni (not their fault: macaroni is just a pasta, after all). I paired it with a fountain lemonade...I was tempted by their fine variety of milkshakes, but the $10 price tag kind of waved me off. I wish I lived closer, but I find myself in the area frequently enough that I will be returning. Check them out!

Holy cluck lived up to the it's play on words. Couple of things really stood out to me. 1) fresh not frozen chicken, it means you need to wait 15-20 minutes or whatever it is for your chicken to cook but it's worth the wait because it's fresh, crispy, and juicy chicken. 2) I don't know and I didn't ask but I'm assuming that waffle batter was scratch made. Definitely tasted like a quality chicken and waffles and the waffles held up to the chicken and syrup which is as important as anything. If I had to nitpick... the syrup was smuckers in prepackaged/sealed container, give me some michigan made maple syrup but hell this food was so good I didn't even care. Well done holy cluck, well done

Driving up to the spot, they definitely let you know you've arrived as a very angry looking chicken mural is the first thing to greet you. It's a pretty large space, very clean. The employees were very friendly and helpful in making my choice. Picking one chicken sandwich on this menu was not going to be easy, and sadly, as I've gotten older, the Nashville hot style needs some extra Prilosec to soothe that fire. So I had narrowed my choices down to three: The Holy Cluck, the Cluck, and the Honey Heat. Not going to lie, the Holy Cluck scared me a little, I was thinking about being up all night with that burning sensation in my chest and I shied away from it, but dang it looked good. They said the Cluck was exactly the same, just no heat and the Honey Heat was somewhere in between. As a chicken sandwich aficionado, I thought it would be best to start with the standard prior to jumping into the specialties so that is what I ordered. Let me tell you, it was absolutely wonderful. It was fresh, and crisp and flavorful. The bun was perfect and the slaw was more mayo than vinegar, which is what I personally prefer. I really didn't delve much deeper into the menu as I'm trying to control my weight while still enjoying some of these delicious treats but man everything looks delightful. The milkshakes they make are monstrous and I can only imagine how good they must be. Everyone here was absolutely a delight. Can't wait to come back and have some more.

Pretty good chicken sandwiches, unfortunately they have some stiff competition in the area. Service was quick and polite. Love the look and feel of the restaurant and their menus. The parking lot could use some of the same attention - lots of potholes and cracks. The shake menu is wild. One $15 shake cones with a waffle and chicken tender. Another one called the Detroiter comes with Vernor's, Better Made BBQ chips and caramel popcorn - what a combination. Our family tried the hot honey butter chicken sandwich and the Holy Cluck sandwich. The honey butter sandwich was nice but a little messy. It came with cheese but neither of us that had it could taste the cheese in it - maybe too many other flavors overpowering it. Unfortunately the sandwich size, while adequate, pales in comparison to their crosstown rival and they're also a touch more expensive, though $7 these days for a decent chicken sandwich is pretty good.

Bey-root chicken sandwich and garlic Parmesan fries

Passed by this spot not to long ago and made a note to check it out. Very cute and clean inside with friendly staff. Ordered the Bey-root sandwich combo which came with waffle fries and a drink . Upgraded my fries to garlic Parmesan. Total $16.00. Not to bad, the cup that came with combo was small which, I don't need to be drinking pop like that l, so I wasn't to irked about it but for the price I def think they could have bigger sizes. Fries were hot and crispy still when I got home and the garlic parm flavoring was perfect. Next time I think I will get a garlic parm sauce to dip them in. Sandwich, chicken was moist flavorful and crunchy. The Cole slaw provided the perfect balance and extra moistness . Sandwich is very big and very filling

Was craving a chicken sandwich but did not want to settle for Popeyes. Stumbled upon this place and the food quality definitely impressed. I ordered the Hot Honey Butter . The sandwich was really good but minus one star because it was literally dripping in grease. I got the garlic waffle fries and they were served super fresh and perfectly cooked. Oh and the strawberry pound cake was delicious. Definitely will be returning.

They have a very tasty spicy chicken burger. I also highly recommend their Mac n cheese burger. Pair it with their crinkle cut fries and wa-la! Absolute deliciousness. Their tender chicken has balanced spices all relaxed in between soft buns will have you drooling for more.

We got the hot sandwich and regular coop. It was absolutely yummy. I don't get any halal fried chicken sandwich in my area. I was visiting family and they took us here and it was the bomb. Their coop, which is pretty much like loaded fries was mouth watering. Their holy cluck sauce is great! Will be back again when I'm in the area!

The coop entree has perfectly seasoned moist chicken, waffle fries crispy, fresh slaw, cheddar cheese, topped off with a semi spicy sauce. Very flavorful comfort food that does not disappoint.

I can't believe the place is still here after all of these years. There are 2 types of subs here: Italian, and "Other Subs", so you know that this shop sprang from the vibrant Italian community that once populated Detroit. The Italian Subs at Gonella's are ordered according to how many layers it builds up (which I think is a unique concept). These layered Gonella Italian Subs are layered with a variety of Italian meats (Hard Salami, Salami Cotto, Mortadella, Smoked Ham and Capicola), provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions & Gonella's homemade dressing. Side Chic's blows them out of the water along with every other spot in Detroit/Dearborn (Savvy Sliders, Checkers, KFC, Chic Fil A, Chick N Kingz etc.) The breading on the tenders is very, very flavorful. They also put the perfect amount of breading on each tender. I absolutely hate overbreaded tenders where it feels like you're chewing through multiple layers till you hit chicken. Side Chic's avoids this completely by having a nice layer of breading that adds flavor and doesn't distract from the chicken. The chicken itself is hot, juicy and well textured. This is not rubbery, dry chicken. The only other way I can describe it is it just tastes fresh. I was thoroughly impressed. Side Chic's is a carry out spot that's open very, very late (which is awesome). Everyone who works there is incredibly pleasant and helpful. Also, even though the chicken is fresh and made to order, your food comes out in a fairly quick manner. I really can't say enough good things about Side Chic's. Grabbed some lunch for my team: Chicken bacon ranch no lettuce or tomato, a large Lebanese salad (no pita), Turkey Reuben sandwich, Chicken melt, Bronx and a can of Mountain Dew and one can of Coke. Oh my. Their Chicken melt menu that someone posted on here changed from what someone else had posted a while back. Their current chicken melt is essentially a chicken Philly. It wasn't what my team member wanted, had to give it to someone else, since it had mushrooms in it. The Lebanese salad was good, the large is a good size. Loaded with tomatoes and cukes. Ended up with bits of pita at the bottom of my salad, had to pick them out. :/ The chicken bacon ranch was nicely packed with meat in a sub bun. The Bronx was good as well. The turkey Rueben was okay. Light on the kraut and sauce. The turkey meat was deli slices though. The bread was maybe separately toasted. It was pan or cook top cooked. The rye was a bit too hard as I tried to get a bite in. I ended up having to gut it and eat the inside goods separately. Oven roasted turkey would have been fantastic, more kraut or add slaw too. Salad was good and fresh. The sandwiches look picture worthy.

They opened a second branch in East Dearborn recently which finally allowed me to give the subs a try. The restaurant itself is quite small and is mostly a takeout destination. There are only 14 seats in the small dining room, a small fridge stocked with drinks, and the order counter, from which you can see the kitchen. I went in on a very empty weekday lunch and got one item, which took about 10 minutes to come out: Lebanese Sub, Half ($8.99) - They toast this sub well, resulting in a very nice crunch on the exterior. Just be careful eating it - you can pretty easily lacerate your gums if you're not careful! The interior is moist for the most part, with a bit of a mild garlic and mayo mixture that covers all the ingredients. There's a double layer of grilled chicken breast that forms a base layer, followed by some fries that are crunchy on the exterior and fluffy on the interior, and finally a layer of crunchy and acidic pickles. The chicken is the weakest part of the dish - some pieces are overcooked, dry, and tough. It's most noticeable in the thickest areas where there's not enough mayo/garlic to add moisture to the sandwich. Still, overall I found the sub to be good and the ingredients all complemented each other well. Note: The little red tray that they served the sub in smelled heavily of bleach and my first couple of bites had a slight whiff of bleach thanks to that. If you eat here, I would recommend removing the food from the tray before eating. Zaghloul Subs is definitely worth a try.
