I wanted to give it 3 or 4 stars, but meat MUST be the centerpiece of what a BBQ joint is judged on...and it did not come through at all. First the good: -Staff was friendly and helpful. -Place was clean. -Garlic toast was yummy! -French fries were fresh and hot. Now the bad: -Pulled Pork was mushy and completely shredded to where it kind of clumped together, lacked any smoke flavor and tasted like water had been added (maybe more than once) to add moisture. -Campfire corn was weird. I never had anything like it, so I have a hard time evaluating. At first I did not like it at all, but as I ate more I kind of liked it. Final tally, 2.5 out of 5. -Sauces were not good at all. I tried the sweet and the spicy and both were meh. I did not try the mustard sauce. I wanted to like the place. I love BBQ and want LOTS of good BBQ joints to exist. But, when I read this on the website, "Holy Smokers BBQ has won many awards for their delicious Que! They still compete...in Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois. Why settle for BBQ that just don't measure up. Years of proven success cooking BBQ Low & Slow for that flavor that can't be matched." and then have such a bad experience with the meat, it's disappointing. I will try again and if I have a better result, I'll update. read more

I love BBQ. But the pork ribs are too salty. The ribs are very tender but taste is more like oven baked. The service is good and the drive thru is great. read more

Customer service was top notch. Very friendly staff. I ordered the half chicken, Potato salad and green beans with cornbread. The chicken was okay, not much seasoning but the smoked flavor was good, green beans were good, potato salad was good. My wife ordered the brisket, it wasn't good at all. The potatoes were from a box and they were just okay. The owner did try and make it right with the brisket . Appreciate the effort. read more

We came to try a new bbq spot for us and opted for this one. We picked up ribs, brisket, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage. For sides we got the green beans, corn, coleslaw, and potato salad. I am not sure if it's just late in the day but everything just seemed maybe more overcooked or soggy. I was disappointed that the ribs didn't have any sauce on them. I just don't think of ribs without sauce. I mean naked is still ribs but not bbq ribs to me, and they were very skimpy with the sauce they give you. I had to use my own bbq bottle sauce at home for the leftover meats. Their sauce is good I will give them that. I would have to say that there are other bbq spots that I prefer over this one. read more

Can I just say OMG!? My husband and I love BBQ, so when we saw all the food awards this place won in the "Best of 2022" in the Holland Sentinel, we had to try it. And are we glad we did! The half chicken was smoked, tender and juicy. The brisket was meaty and flavorful--they didn't skimp on the meat in a slider like many places do. We split it and still had meat falling out! St. Louis ribs are usually too tough for me--but these were fall-off-the-bone tender like baby back ribs. All. To. Die. For! We didn't try all the sides, but we recommend the baked beans (husband liked putting extra BBQ sauce on them) and corn. Note: the corn bread is not to be missed! A solid southern BBQ place. We came here and decided to eat in. It was converted from a Subway so the ambiance isn't amazing, but they've tried to make it welcoming, which I appreciate. Pros *Staff we're patient, friendly and helpful when ordering / asking for recommendations. *Pulled pork and chopped brisket were good. *The corn bread is delicious. *Service was fast. Cons *I didn't like most sides. - The corn came in a cheese sauce which just made it a little heavy. -Green beans were canned (which I know is pretty common for this type of fare, but they just weren't great) and just too soft -Mac and cheese wasn't anything too special My last issue was that since it's a counter order type place we could hear probably a little too much of the exchanges between the cashier and the cooks. There was bickering and the tension was palpable, it made our dining in experience a bit awkward at times. I liked the mains and will try different sides next time. definitely not the place to go for bbq! unless you want burnt food and staff who constantly ju use one pair of gloves! They don't switch gloves when they prepare food then use cash register and go clean tables. Always just have the same gloves all day. Food was always nasty. We just discovered Holy Smokers BBQ in early August. So far, we have taste-tested the pulled pork, pull chicken and brisket and all were great. This is the place to go for great Barbecue. The Pulled pork is so good and the Chicken Wings are the best. Order them without sauce and put your own own on at the table.
