Stopped late on a Thursday night to try the BBQ rib tips which came with choice of 2 sides. I chose goulash and MAC & cheese but there was a bean & sausage dish, a jambalaya with no seafood, green beans & potatoes, collards, and a few other southern type sides. Ate in their beautiful, clean modern dining room which was just delightful. The bbq rib tips were perfect -- tender, chewy, deliciously sauced. The MAC & cheese had oodles of cheese and the goulash while a tad overcooked, it had the most delicious flavor and was just as good as the one I make at home. Cornbread was not a sweet version but more traditionally Southern and very tender. The owner came to say hello personally and offered me some cupcakes for the road. I've had take out from Daddio's and the food was great. I had the BBQ short ribs. They were delicious. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The corn bread that came with it was great. Daddios... when you're here, you're truly family. My friend and I had the absolute best experience eating at Daddios! We were on our way up from Chicago to check out some tulips in Holland, and decided to stop here for lunch since everyone on Yelp was raving about this Southern joint. Thank goodness we did because this easily became my favorite restaurant here in Michigan. The food here is all home-cooked Southern goodness. You select a protein from fried chicken, ribs, tips, catfish, etc. and choose from a large array of sides to compliment your meat. They range from jambalaya to rice & beans, to goulash and collared greens. The portions here are VERY generous and they may even add a bit extra or two if you are nice. We sat in their newest dining room with our food and boy oh boy, it was heaven. The ribs were definitely on point when smothered in their sweet house BBQ sauce. The fried chicken was crispy good, and the sides- OMG were they all amazing. I haven't had collared greens or jambalaya this good in a very long time. During the entire time, they checked in on us to make sure everything was good. It truly felt like we were eating at home. The owners were both amazing, compassionate individuals that made sure we were comfortable. Amongst the dining room are photos of timeless artists and records of accolades Daddios has received over the years. They've even gone as far as to welcome Hurricane Katrina refugees into their kitchen with meals and support. They are simply amazing! With delicious food and heartfelt service, Daddios needs to be a spot you visit while in Holland. I am so happy we stopped by and was able to meet these incredible business owners. Pure home cooking in Holland and you can't go wrong (unless you don't like home cooking?). First off, you gotta go to their Facebook page for a daily menu. It doesn't usually change too much throughout the week, but it's best to get the most updated information. They always seem to have some bbq, mainly ribs, as well as fried chicken and a few different types of fish. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their main dishes unless you don't like those types of things. I haven't had all bbq in the Holland area, but I've had some and Daddio's is the best I've had so far, at least in terms of ribs. The sides I've had are fine. Nothing too special, but I'd probably say the collard greens are may be the best choice. The service is great and the food is good. Can't complain and I'll definitely be back. read more

This is a tiny take out food establishment. Very serious about COVID-19. Honestly the best squash side dish I ever had. Chicken dinner was outstanding. Sides were all good and we ordered a few. Specials offered on Facebook. No outside dining at this time. We ate in the car. Located in a residential area so no parking hassles. ALWAYS ON POINT! we got catfish it was seasoned lightly but cooked just right. It is made to order so call ahead! Sides of mac & cheese remind me of the south along with the bbq sauce. And the tartar sauce with fish is sooo addicting. This is some real soul food must try if in the area. Kids love the mac & cheese. They have a small dining area but its mainly take out. I ordered Daddio's Catering for an employee meeting and oooo-wee was it delicious! We had a spread of fried chicken, baked chicken, pulled pork, green beans with potatoes, mac and cheese, and rolls. Everything was so tasty! Usually with catering the quality of the food can suffer - not with Daddio's! The chicken was moist and tender, the green beans were cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor, the pulled pork wasn't oversauced and the mac was creamy and cheesy. My employees were finding creative ways to take the small amount of leftovers home! We try different local restaurants every time we meet as a team but we will be ordering Daddio's more often. They also have 'fish fry Fridays' which I didn't get to try but from the taste of everything else, I am sure it'll be good so I'll have to go back to try it! Setting is welcoming and the tall glass that displays the food instantly makes your mouth water and stomach grumble. Food is well seasoned and the chicken is juicy with fantastic crunch. Few places are worth driving out of the way on a road trip but this is worth the extra miles. We discovered Daddio's Carry Out when trying to find a unique place for lunch a few years back. The hospitality is wonderful as the former Chicagoans offer suggestions. For this visit, we brought our kids. Our family of four chose three meats and six sides to share. We chose catfish, ribs and chicken with collard greens, gumbo, Mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, green beans and broccoli and cheese. While we waited for our food, we sat outside in the newly added tables and chairs. The fried chicken has a delicious seasoning and perfect crispness, the catfish was my husbands favorite and the ribs were tender with the right amount of sauce.
